OCTOBER FESTIVAL We have the Saturday band line-up complete and are working on the Sunday line-up. We should have the complete line-up completed this coming week. We have been blessed with an offer from Los Cadetes de Linales de Francisco Gurerrero to headline both nights as a donation to our church. They are quite famous and popular. Thanks to Minerva Torres for making the contact for us. Our festival will be on : Saturday -Sunday, 11-12th. FESTIVAL DE OCTUBRE Ya tenemos las bandas que estarán tocando el sábado y estamos trabajando para las bandas del domingo. Para la próxima semana tendremos completado las bandas que estarán tocando los dos días. Hemos sido bendecidos con la oferta de los Cadetes de Linares de Francisco Guerrero para tocar las dos noches como donación a nuestra parroquia. Son famosos y populares. Church repairs in the coming weeks We hope to begin painting the front towers of our Church this week.

We hope to start the instalation of the handicap ramp in a couple of days. It should take two weeks to complete.

The cracks may have something to do with the stationary water beneath the church.

We have asked Bishop Sheltz for emergency funding to help solve the stationary water problem.

The installation of the six new doors for the Church will also begin in the coming weeks.

Cuando empecemos, nos llevara una semana pintarlas. Nosotros pagaremos por este trabajo.

Si mira detalladamente los escalones de en frente de la parroquia mirara que hay varias grietas.

Y si las grietas son evidentes en los escalones, es probablemente una señal del grande problema que hay debajo de los escalones.

4 Church repairs in the coming weeks We hope to begin painting the front towers of our Church this week. When we begin, it will take about a week to complete. We will pay for this work ourselves. We hope to start the instalation of the handicap ramp in a couple of days. It should take two weeks to complete. If you look closely at the front steps of the Church you will see that there are many cracks in the steps. The cracks may have something to do with the stationary water beneath the church. And if the cracks are evident on the surface of the steps, it is probably a sign of larger problems beneath the steps. We have asked Bishop Sheltz for emergency funding to help solve the stationary water problem. We can t install the new pavement until we have solved the water problem. The installation of the six new doors for the Church will also begin in the coming weeks. Reparaciones de la parroquia en las siguientes semanas Esperemos que empecemos a pintar las torres de enfrente de la parroquia esta semana. Cuando empecemos, nos llevara una semana pintarlas. Nosotros pagaremos por este trabajo. Espero que empecemos la instalación de la rampa en unos días mas. Se llevará dos semanas para que quede lista. Si mira detalladamente los escalones de en frente de la parroquia mirara que hay varias grietas. Las grietas talvez tienen que ver con el agua encharcada debajo de la parroquia. Y si las grietas son evidentes en los escalones, es probablemente una señal del grande problema que hay debajo de los escalones. Le hemos pedido al Obispo Sheltz fondos de emergencia para que nos ayude a resolver el problema del agua encharcada. No podemos instalar nuevo pavimento hasta que resolvemos el problema del agua. La instalación de las nuevas seis puertas para la parroquia también lo empezaremos en las siguientes semanas. Toda la comunidad esta invitada a celebrar el cumpleaños del P. Murphy en una recepción que se llevara a cabo el domingo 24 de agosto en el gimnasio después de misa de 12:00pm. Traiga un platillo para compartir con la comunidad y demos gracias a Dios por la vida del P. Murphy. All the community is invited to celebrate Fr. Murphy s birtday on Sunday 24, 2014 with a reception at the gym after the 12:00 noon mass. Please bring a dish to share with the community and let us thank God for Fr. Murphy s life.

Avance Houston has sent a proposal to Holy Name asking to lease seven of our classrooms to them to work with teenager mothers and their infant children and to have a small kindergarten for 3-5yrs.

If we lease to Avance, it would take some modifications of our classrooms, which they would pay for. We would still have full use of the classrooms for our own Religious Education programs on Sundays.

They are looking towards an October 1 date for beginning if possible. I have ed a copy of their proposal to Bishop Sheltz and phoned his office requesting a meeting. If we lease to Avance, it would take some modifications of our classrooms, which they would pay for. We would still have full use of the classrooms for our own Religious Education programs on Sundays.
