Mass Intentions The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the greatest and most perfect prayer we can offer because it is the prayer of Jesus Christ to the Father. The Mass is the most beautiful gift we can give to others. Masses may be offered not only for the deceased, but also for the sick, in thanksgiving for favors received, birthdays, anniversaries, and for any special intention you may have. Religious Education Classes Registration: Registration for our parish Religious Education Faith Formation Classes is now taking place in the parish office. Registration fee is $40.00 for the first child and $30.00 for each additional child of the same family. Please bring a copy of the child s Baptismal Certificate and a copy of the Birth Certificate. 4 Sharing the Gospel In flower or vegetable gardens weeds may take root beside the good plants. If you spray poison on all the plants, you will get rid of the weeds, but you will also get rid of the good seed, too. Since Jesus has died, weeds have grown among the good seeds. He says not to do away with those who have sinned. He will separate the good seeds from the weeds when he comes again. As God's child, you are the wheat in God's field. As you love and trust God more, your faith will grow. You will see others around you who love God, too. God will be happy to see you growing up in God's love. As you grow taller and stronger, you will also notice others around you who ignore or hate God. God will get rid of those weeds. Then he will bring you into heaven. 5 Summer Mass Schedule From Sunday, July 2nd to Sunday, September 24th, there will be no 11:45am at our parish church, Saint Rocco. The 11:45am Mass will start again on Sunday, September 24th. During the Summer, the Mass schedule will be Saturday evening, at 5:30pm, and Sunday at 8:45am and 10:00am in Spanish at our parish church, Saint John the Evangelist. Our Parish End of Summer Festival Get Together Sunday, September 17, 2017, at 12noon Parish Lot on 27 th Street near Saint Rocco Church Hot Food, Refreshments, Entertainment for Children and Adults So that all of us can spend an enjoyable afternoon together, we will only have one parish Mass on Sunday, September 17 th at 10:30am in our parish church, Saint John the Evangelist. There will be no 8:45am, 10:00am or 11:45am Mass on Sunday, September 17 th. Please plan to be with us. Mission Appeal for Missionary Fraternity of Mary This year our Diocesan Society for the Propagation of the Faith has invited the Missionary Fraternity of Mary to come to our parish to conduct a Mission Appeal on the weekend of August 12-13, The visit of Fr. Luis Carlos this weekend, on behalf of the Missionary Fraternity of Mary, to our parish is in cooperation with our participation in the Annual Mission Cooperative Program for the Diocese of Brooklyn. Fr. Luis Carlos will speak at our parish Masses this weekend about the missionary activities of the Missionary Fraternity of Mary. This weekend will be an opportunity for all of us to learn more about missionary activities and to support them with our prayers and donations.you are invited to give from your heart to help spread the Gospel Message throughout the world and help to alleviate the needs of the poor.
