Minutos 31-59 When the minutes are between 31-59, you will have to do some math. In Spanish, you have to round up to next hour and subtract in order to get the minutes until that hour. Example: For 4:53, we would round up to the next hour. Son las cinco To find the minutes until the hour, we have to subtract (60 53 = 7) menos siete. Therefore we get. Son las cinco menos siete. Do we do this in English?

A.M. and P.M. In the Spanish, there are 3 ways to say what part of day it is. We do not typically say a.m. or p.m. (in de la mañana the morning) (in de la tarde the afternoon) (in de la noche the evening/ at night)

12:00 a.m. vs 12:00 p.m. There are special phrases that are used like English to indicate midnight and noon. (half night/ half day) 12:00 a.m. = midnight = medianoche 12:00 p.m. = noon = mediodía
At To say that something happens at a certain time, a las or a la will be used instead of son las and es la Ejemplos: At 8:00am I arrive at school. A las ocho de la mañana yo llego a la escuela. The party starts at 1:15pm. La fiesta empieza a la una y cuarto de la tarde.
