We are kicking off the academy with an array of information and a Team Building Activity on December 12 th from 9:00 am to 11:00 a.m. in the Sweetwater Middle School Media Center. On December 12th, you will have the opportunity to meet other parents and learn more about this exciting and informative program. This academy is designed to help parents, staff, and the community become full partners in the education of all students. Topics will include but are not limited to 1) The Power of First Impressions, 2) What kind of leader are you?, 3) Title I and how it affects you, 4) Public speaking and Community Advocacy, 5) My E-Class, and 6) What is your Vision and Mission. The Berkmar Cluster Parent Leadership Academy will meet once a month beginning in December and ending in April. Once you commit to being a part of the Parent Leadership Academy, attendance is required. Only one absence will be allowed. The dates of the academy are provided below. Each parent that completes the academy will be honored at the final session on April 16 th and will have his/her picture in the Parent Hall of Fame at their child s school. The goal of the Berkmar Cluster Parent Leadership Academy is to develop parent leaders who can support other parents, teachers, students, and the community. We are excited to bring this program to you, so you can help shape and mold it to fit the needs of of your child s school. We are excited to partner with you to make this program a success.
Remember all parents are invited to participate that return the completed information below. We are unable to provide childcare at this time; however, a Spanish interpreter will be provided. Estamos lanzando la academia con una gran variedad de información y una actividad de equipo el sábado 12 de diciembre de 9:00 a 11:00 a.m. en el Centro de Medios de Sweetwater Middle School. El sábado 12 de diciembre tendrá la oportunidad de conocer a otros padres y aprender más sobre este emocionante e informativo programa. Una vez que se comprometa a ser parte de la Academia de Liderazgo para Padres, su asistencia es obligatoria. Sólo se permitirá una ausencia. Las fechas de la academia se proporcionan a continuación. Cada padre que complete la academia será honrado en la última sesión el 16 de abril y su fotografía se colocará en Salón de la Fama de la escuela de su hijo. El objetivo de la Academia de Liderazgo para Padres es desarrollar padres líderes que puedan apoyar a otros padres, maestros, estudiantes y a la comunidad. Estamos muy contentos de presentarles este programa, para que ustedes puedan ayudar a formarlo y moldearlo para que se ajuste a las necesidades de la escuela de su hijo. Estamos muy contentos de asociarnos con ustedes para hacer de este programa un éxito.
