1 UNITED THANK OFFERING Spring 2004 Revised CHILDREN S ACTIVITY SHEETS The mission of the United Thank Offering is to expand the circle of thankful people. To achieve this mission, we encourage daily prayers, offerings and awareness of the abundance of God s blessings. We believe that children who learn early in their lives to pray daily, thanking God for something, will grow into grateful adults. So join us in encouraging this habit in the children under your care. Thanks be to God! Enclosed are activity sheets to use with children in your church. Using the master sheets, you can make as many copies as needed for use in Sunday School, as a quiet activity children can do during services, or as a send home project to be enjoyed by both parent and child. Some suggestions for teachers are included on the back of each sheet, which do not need to be copied unless you send the sheets home for parents to follow. With these activities, some Sunday School teachers like to give children their own United Thank Offering coin box to keep in their rooms. Other popular items for children include the stamps/stickers and colorful, temporary tattoos. Para lograr esta Misión ofrecemos oraciones diarias en reconocimiento de las abundantes bendiciones que a diario recibimos de Nuestro Señor. Nuestro deseo es que los niños aprendan temprano a ser agradecidos y a Orar diariamente danado gracias a Dios. Unámonos para fortalecer este buen hábito con los niños bajo nuestro cuidado. Gracias a Dios! Adjunto encontrarán material parar usar con los niños en sus iglesias. Este material ustedes pueden reproducir lo segun necesario para la escuela dominical y ocupar a los niños en esta actividad, también se puede asignar de tarea para que sea aprovechada por el resto de la familia. Algunas sugerencias para maestros se incluyen en la parte de atras de la hoja, que no necesita copiar a menos que sea asignada de tarea para que guie a los padres. So join us in encouraging this habit in the children under your care. Thanks be to God! Suggestion 1 Talk about how mothers and fathers need to have jobs so that they can take care of their children. Tell the story about how, several years ago, coins from our Blue Box offerings and prayers helped a diocese in Seoul, Korea, to establish a factory to make lunch boxes. Moms and dads were able to have jobs and take care of their families. Suggestion 2 Talk about how children, by giving thanks to God daily and putting coins in their Blue Box, help contribute to projects all over the world, which may create new jobs for moms and dads. You might ask them to tell about their parents jobs. Suggestion 3 Have the children pray together using the prayer on the front of the activity sheet.
