1 ASTERISCO FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE LGBTIQ 1 AL 5 DE NOVIEMBRE BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA BASES ARTÍCULO 1º Asterisco Festival Internacional de Cine LGTBIQ abre su convocatoria de películas para su 4ta edición a llevarse a cabo entre el 1 y el 5 de Noviembre de El mismo incluirá Competencias de largometrajes, cortometrajes y Work in Progress (ver ARTÍCULO 4 ); además de distintas secciones paralelas y retrospectivas. ARTÍCULO 2º La inscripción al festival es gratuita y está abierta para películas nacionales e internacionales; de largo, medio y cortometraje; películas de ficción, animación, documentales y experimentales. ARTÍCULO 3º Cierre de inscripción: Para presentar un film en el Festival es necesario completar el formulario de inscripción antes del 1 de Septiembre de 2017 a través del siguiente enlace: Los gastos de envío, exportación e importación de los videos y copias para su selección y participación están a cargo de sus dueños. Los DVDs que se envían al Festival para postular a ser seleccionados no serán devueltos con el compromiso de no ser utilizados/reproducidos con fines comerciales. ARTÍCULO 4º Competencias: El festival contará con tres secciones competitivas: - Competencia Oficial Internacional de Largometrajes. - Competencia Oficial Internacional de Cortometrajes. - Competencia Nacional de Work In Progress. En las Competencias Internacionales participan películas nacionales e internacionales de largometraje, documentales y de ficción. Las películas deben haber sido terminadas en 16mm, 35mm, HD o superior, presentando obligatoriamente subtítulos en castellano o en inglés. Deben haber sido terminadas después de Enero 2016 y no haber tenido exhibición comercial en Buenos Aires. Los films que hayan sido estrenados en otros países o competido en festivales no están invalidados para integrar las Competencias.

2 La organización del festival podrá modificar o dar de baja alguna de las competencias si considera que no hay material suficiente con la categoría para integrar las mismas. El festival nombrará un jurado compuesto por al menos tres miembros en cada competencia, de los cuales al menos 1 de cada tres deberán ser personalidades ajenas al país organizador. El Jurado otorgará eventualmente las menciones especiales que considere, debiendo indicar la motivación que los hace merecedores de los mismos. El premio no podrá ser ex-aequo. El premio se recibirá por mayoría simple del jurado. ARTÍCULO 5º Si una película resulta seleccionada, el Festival notificará al aspirante (director, productor, distribuidor o agente de ventas), y este deberá remitir los materiales que se le solicitan en la Ficha de Inscripción a la brevedad. Estos materiales se utilizarán para el Catálogo, la Página Web, prensa, publicidad y difusión dentro del marco del Festival. ARTÍCULO 6º El Festival podrá utilizar fragmentos de los films -de un máximo de 3 minutosnacionales e internacionales, con fines promocionales (para los cortometrajes la duración de los fragmentos no podrá superar el 10% de la duración final de los trabajos). Si los fragmentos no estuviesen disponibles por parte del productor del film, el Festival podrá copiar uno o más fragmentos del film para ser utilizados con fines promocionales durante el Festival. Con el objetivo de difundir la programación y cada uno de los films seleccionados, el Festival podrá utilizar fotos y clips digitales (de menos de 3 minutos) de las películas en su sitio de Internet. ARTÍCULO 7º Los films seleccionados estarán disponibles en la Videoteca online del Festival durante un período de tiempo preestablecido. La videoteca será de uso exclusivo de prensa e invitados acreditados del Festival. Al aceptar ser parte del Festival, quienes detenten los derechos otorgan permiso para que su film sea incluido, excepto que expresen lo contrario en la ficha de inscripción. Para estos fines se requerirá a los productores de los films seleccionados proveer al festival de copias en el formato que será oportunamente solicitado. Demos y trailers serán recibidos y distribuidos en las oficinas del Festival. ARTÍCULO 8º Una vez programada una película, no podrá ser retirada del Festival. ARTÍCULO 9º Los films programados -en cualquiera de las Secciones- no podrán ser estrenados comercialmente en el país hasta finalizado el Festival. Tampoco podrán ser exhibidas públicamente en otro ámbito que no sea el del marco del Festival, hasta la finalización del mismo.

3 ARTÍCULO 10º Cada film podrá tener hasta tres (3) proyecciones durante el Festival, incluyendo una adicional para la prensa, en caso de ser necesario. Además, se podrán programar proyecciones itinerantes dentro del territorio argentino. ARTÍCULO 11º Los films se presentarán en el idioma del país de origen, con subtítulos electrónicos en castellano. ARTÍCULO 12º Los productores y distribuidores de aquellos films que obtengan premios se comprometen a destacar los mismos en toda su publicidad y material de prensa, utilizando el logotipo del Festival. Este compromiso se aplica tanto a los estrenos cinematográficos comerciales como al lanzamiento comercial en DVD. Este logotipo estará disponible en las oficinas del Festival. Todo premio otorgado, que no sea recibido en la Ceremonia de Clausura, podrá ser retirado en las oficinas del Festival, en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, hasta un mes de finalizado el evento. ARTÍCULO 13º El Festival cubre los costos de almacenaje y seguro de las copias mientras estén dentro de los límites oficiales del Festival. El Festival no asumirá gastos aduaneros de exportación e importación de las copias en su país de origen. En caso de deterioro de una copia o cualquier otro reclamo, éste deberá llegar al Festival hasta en quince días después de la fecha de envío efectuada por el Festival, como fecha límite. La responsabilidad del Festival no superará el costo de tiraje de una nueva copia, según las tarifas en vigor en los laboratorios para el tiraje de una copia estándar. ARTÍCULO 14º En caso de conflicto, la Dirección del Festival conserva su soberanía (se reserva del derecho para resolver). Cualquier problema no contemplado en estas bases será resuelto por la dirección del festival. ARTÍCULO 15º La participación en el Festival implica por parte de los interesados la aceptación del presente Reglamento.

4 ASTERISCO INTERNATIONAL LGBTIQ FILM FESTIVAL FROM NOVEMBER 1 st TO 5 th, BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA RULES & REGULATIONS ARTICLE 1º Asterisco International LGTBIQ Film Festival opens the call to present films for its 4th edition, to be held from November 1st to 5th, The festival will include Competitions of feature films, short films and Work in Progress (see ARTICLE 4º); as well as several simultaneous categories and retrospectives. ARTICLE 2º Submitting films to the Festival is free and open to, both, Argentine and foreign films, including full, medium and short-length films, in the fictional, animation, documentary and experimental categories. ARTICLE 3º Closing date: In order to submit a film for selection, the submission form must be filled in before September 1th, 2017 trough the following link: All shipping, export and import costs are at the filmmaker s expense. DVDs submitted to the Festival for the selection process will not be returned, however they will never be used or reproduced for commercial purposes. ARTICLE 4º Competition: The Festival will have three competitions: - Official International Competition of Feature Length Films - Official International Competition of Short Films - National Competition of Works in Progress Argentine and foreign films will take part in the International Competition (featurelength, documentaries and fictional films). Films must be in 16mm, 35mm, HD or superior format, with subtitles in Spanish or English (mandatory). Films must have been finished after January 2016, and must not have been screened in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Films that have taken part in festivals outside Argentina may participate in the International Competition.

5 Any of the competitions may be modified or cancelled if the organization of the festival considers that there is insufficient material. The festival will appoint a Jury of at least three people for each Competition, and at least one of them won t be from Argentina. The Jury will make Special acknowledgements where appropriate, giving the reasons for such mentions. There will only be one winner per prize.the award will be decided by majority decision of the jury. ARTICLE 5º If a film gets selected, the Asterisco Festival will inform the candidate (Director, Producer, Distributor or Sales Agent), who will submit the materials requested in the Registration Form as soon as possible. These materials will be used in the festival programme, web site, press releases, and advertising and promotion of the Festival. ARTICLE 6º The Asterisco Festival may use short clips of Argentine or foreign films (3 minutes maximum) for promotional purposes -clips from short films may not exceed 10% of their total length. If the clips were not provided by the film s producer, the Asterisco Festival may cut sections from the film to be screened for promotional purposes during the Festival. In order to promote the festival schedule and each of the participating films, the Festival may use photos and short clips (less than 3-minute long) on the official website-. ARTICLE 7º The selected films will be available online at the Festival s Film Library for a limited time. The Film Library will be used exclusively by the media and accredited Festival guests. By submitting a film, those entitled to the film s rights grant permission to include the film in the Film Library, unless otherwise stated in the registration form. To this end, filmmakers will be asked to provide copies in the required format, upon request. Trailers will be received and distributed at the Festival offices. ARTICLE 8º Once a film is scheduled, it may not be withdrawn from the Festival. ARTICLE 9º Films listed in any Category may not be commercially premiered in Argentina, nor may they be screened anywhere else, until the Festival has officially ended. ARTICLE 10º

6 Each film may be screened up to three (3) times during the Festival, including an additional press screening, if required. They may also be included in the Festival s tour throughout Argentina. ARTICLE 11º Films will be shown in the original language, with Spanish electronic subtitles. ARTICLE 12º Producers and distributors of films that receive awards agree to use the Festival logo in promotional materials and press kits. This applies to film premieres and DVD distribution. The logo will be available at the Festival offices. All awards that are not received in person at the Closing Ceremony may be collected at the Festival offices in Buenos Aires, up until one month after the end of the event. ARTICLE 13º The Festival takes responsibility for the cost of storage and insurance of films during the Festival. The Festival will not pay for any customs import or export fees at the film s country of origin. In case of damage, loss or any other issue, the Festival Management must receive such claim up to a month after the date of delivery by the Festival. The Festival will not cover more than the cost of printing a new copy, in accordance with the current rates in Labs for printing a standard copy. ARTICLE 14º The Festival Management reserves the right to resolve any type of dispute. Any issues arising from omissions in these terms and conditions will be resolved by the Festival Management. ARTICLE 15º By participating in the Asterisco Festival, the interested party agrees on the Festival s terms and conditions.
