Todos están invitados. Virgin of Mount Carmel Blessing, Scapular Investment & Blessing July 15 You are invited to the Virgin of Mount Carmel blessing, with scapular investment & blessing. The scapular blessing of Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be celebrated on: July 15 after the 1:30 p.m. Mass, at 3:15 p.m. at Saint William Since the 15 th Century, devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel tells us Mary appeared to St. Simon Stock, in England on July 16, St. Simon Stock was a leader of the Carmelites, and Mary gave him a scapular. Mary told St. Simon Stock to promote devotion of the brown scapular. The scapular is a modified version of Mary s own garment. It symbolizes her special protection and calls the wearers to consecrate themselves to her in a special way. The scapular reminds us of the gospel call to prayer and penance a call that Mary models in a splendid way. Dr. Gerardo Ramos in Concert July 14 The Sacred Music Concert Series continues with a concert by Dr. Gerardo Ramos in Concert, accompanied by piano, flute, violin, and cello, at Saint William, on July 14, 7:30 p.m. Dr. Ramos and friends will charm and evangelize at the same time. Music reviews have referred to Dr. Ramos as the tenor of the Americas. Dr. Ramos is the Director of Music Ministries at Saint William. The concert is FREE and open to the general public. 4 Saint Vincent s Corner In today s Gospel the people ask : How is it such miraculous deeds are accomplished by his hands? Your call to help the Society of St. Vincent de Paul serve the poor can bring about many miraculous deeds! This week put a special gift in the St. Vincent de Paul Food Box, knowing that through your kindness someone who is suffering will be touched by God in a miraculous way. The Pro-Life Place NFP Classes The church-approved Sympto-Thermal method uses body temperature as well as other methods to identify fertile and infertile phases of the reproductive cycle. This method is taught in three classes, each about a month apart. The next classes begin on July 15 at Seton Medical Center Hays. The cost is $135 per couple for books and thermometer. The classes fulfill the Natural Family Planning requirement for marriage preparation. Needs Volunteers Help deliver Meals to Round Rock Homebound Seniors The Williamson-Burnet County Opportunities, Inc. needs volunteers to help deliver meals to Round Rock homebound seniors through its Meals on Wheels program. Last year WBC Opportunities served over 34,000 Round Rock residents through its Meals on Wheels and congregate meals programs. This program is not Meals on Wheels and More from Austin. Contact: The Williamson-Burnet County Opportunities, Inc. are in need of delivery volunteers for the summer. Bagdad Rd. next to the McConico Bldg. Meals are ready for delivery at 10:30 a.m. and most routes take about an hour and a half. Volunteers are needed to help on a weekly, monthly and daily basis. The WBC works with the Ministerial Alliance in Georgetown and eleven churches in the area that help to deliver meals as well.

8 EVENTS IN OUR PARISH/ EVENTOS EN NUESTRA PARROQUIA Vacation Bible School a Great Success! For God all things are possible. - Mark 10:27 This year s Totally Catholic Summer Vacation Bible School was an amazing success in two languages of faith! The English session was held in the morning and Spanish in the evening. Both sessions served more than 545 students and was hosted by over 100 adult volunteers during the week-long day camp complete with activity stations geared for children ages 3yo 5th grade. Trust God was our saying for the week and was repeated multiple times throughout each day, reminding kids No matter what, TRUST GOD! VBS began at Saint William in 1998 and continues to grow in popularity every year, thanks to the generous time and talent contributions from parishioners and staff who work tirelessly to make this faith-filled event come to life for the children in fun and exciting ways - perfect for every child learner. The children begin each session with an opening prayer, songs and skits, then visit 5 stations that reiterate the Bible points and Saint of the day. The stations include bible stories that come to life, interactive cooperative games where kids can play, an imagination station where they try science-type experiments, snack time promoting conversation and theater time where they can watch a cartoon in an air conditioned room before joining the entire group in the closing sing and play finale. Ver el gozo que tienen en compartir lo que se aprende y también llevarlo a la practica fue una experiencia, de la Bendición de Dios, en la cual la Santísima Trinidad hace su obra de conversión y evangelización para todos y al ser fructíferos en las enseñanzas de la Iglesia Católica. Agradecemos a todos los que participaron y ayudaron de alguna manera a este trabajo maravilloso en la construcción del Reino de Dios. This year s social justice project raised awareness of mosquitos that cause malaria in Africa and gave them an opportunity to contribute coins to Catholic Relief Services in order to purchase mosquito nets. The specially treated nets protect a minimum of two children, last up to 4 years and only cost $6. Our two VBS session collected nearly $1,000 for the service project equaling 166 nets!
