Las inscripciones también se llevarán a cabo durante la semana en el edificio de la catequesis. Como padres, ustedes son los primeros maestros y los más importantes. Es de ustedes que ellos aprenden acerca de Dios, la caridad y el perdón. Su ejemplo les dice mucho en su formacion en la fe. 3 Page 3 August 12, 2018 FROM THE Pope Francis has PRIESTS DESK shared some light on the discourse of Jesus as the Bread of Life. For five consecutive Sundays we will hear this theme during our weekend Masses. His Holiness has mentioned that it is not wrong to be concerned with the daily necessities of life, but strengthening one s relationship with Jesus is of far greater importance. The Lord invites us not to forget that if we need to worry about material bread, it is even more important to cultivate our relationship with him, to strengthen our faith in him. Our Savior has come to satisfy our hunger for truth, our hunger for justice, our hunger for love, the Pope said. Francis reflected on the recent Gospel passage, in which a crowd of people are searching for Jesus and his disciples after the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. When they find him, Jesus says to the crowd: You are looking for me not because you saw signs but because you ate the loaves and were filled. In giving this answer, Jesus shows that it is not enough that people search for him, he wants people to know him, Francis said. Jesus wants the encounter with him to go beyond the immediate satisfaction of material needs. This is because Jesus came to bring us something more than the daily preoccupations of feeding and clothing ourselves, our careers, and so on, he said. Being the true Bread of Life, Jesus wants to satisfy not just bodies, but souls, giving the spiritual food that can satisfy the deepest hunger. We are to search for the food that lasts: his Word, his Body, and his Blood. In Dominus Iesus, Fr. El encontrarnos con Cristo va más allá de saciar las necesidades materiales inmediatas. Jesús vino para ofrecernos algo más, algo que trasciende las preocupaciones cotidianas como alimentarse, vestirse, carreras y obtención de títulos. Él, verdadero pan de vida, quiere saciar no sólo los cuerpos sino también las almas, dando el alimento espiritual que satisface el hambre más profunda. 4 Page 4 August 12, 2018 Attention Parents of All Children Attending CCD in Registration begins on Sunday, August 19 th, Registration will take place in the CCD building after all masses. Weekday registration will also be held in the CCD building. Classes will begin on Sunday, September 9, After September 30, 2018, REGISTRATION for ALL classes will be CLOSED until registration begins again for the next school year (August 2019). This policy is final; no exemption will be made and no excuse will be accepted. We encourage all parents to ensure that their children are educated in their faith in order for them to grow in the love and knowledge of our Lord. If your child is home-school and he/she is preparing to receive a Sacrament this year, please contact the office as soon as possible to ensure your child is included in our preparations. In order to ensure that all children are provided Catholic based curriculum and tools which will inspire them to know Jesus and to love and serve him as you young Catholic Christians, it is necessary to increase our registration fees. Beginning this year, our registration fee is as follows: $20.00 for one child, $30.00 for two children and for three or more children. If you child is making a sacrament this year there will be additional fee of $ This fee will NOT be collected at registration. We would also like to remind you of our attendance policy that was implemented a few years ago. Your child/children should not miss more than 3 classes. Any child with more than 3 (unexcused) absences in any of the preparation classes will be considered unprepared to receive a Sacrament and will be required to repeat the CCD preparation year or years. This applies to the First Communion and Confirmation Classes. Regardless of the grade, if your child is tardy for class 3 times it will counted as 1 absence. Please note that there is a consecutive 2 year attendance policy for any child preparing to receive a sacrament. These rules are intended to ensure that you child is present and on time in order for him/her to grow in the knowledge of their faith and to prepare properly to receive the graces associated with the sacraments. We appreciate your cooperation and thank you in advance for supporting us in this effort. We invite all parents to attend a General meeting on Sunday, September 16 at 9:45 am, in the Church. We also require the parents/guardians of all children, who are preparing to receive a sacrament this CCD year, attend all meetings as indicated on the CCD calendar where they will be asked to sign a report indicating the progress their child has made in their spiritual growth as well as important information regarding the necessary paperwork required for each child to receive either First Communion or Confirmation. Failure of the parent/guardian to attend these meetings will result in the child being considered unprepared to receive the sacrament for this CCD year. As parents you are the first teachers and the most important ones. It is from you they learn about God, charity and forgiveness. Your example toward their faith instructions speak volumes to them. The following are the REQUIREMENTS to be able to baptize your child in St. Rita: A COMPLETED Baptism Form A copy of the child s birth certificate BOTH the Childs Parents and Godparents Baptism Preparation Certificate. If either of the Godparents are married, they NEED to be married by the Catholic Church and bring a copy of their Marriage Certificate. *(NO EXCEPTIONS)* Baptism date will be confirmed/reserved once the Parish Office receives ALL DOCUMENTS in order.
