Come on out for some great disk golf, a BBQ (food will be on sale) or bring your own and use the BBQ grill and picnic area. The new bar (The 13th hole) will be open courtesy of the San Juan del Sur Cervecería. There will be some kids games and if the weather permits; an after dark bonfire. You don't have to play so come on out and have some fun (but you do have plenty of time for some practice rounds). More news as we get it. Poolside Grill and Chill with Live Jazz on th tomorrow night June 19 from 6pm to 8pm at the Pelican Eyes Resort and Spa sponsored Wine & BBQ event in support of the San Juan del Sur Rotary Club. Tickets are value priced at $15 if you buy (at Pelican Eyes or the Library before the event) or $20 on the night. Ticket includes four wine pours and 4 appetizers. Restaurante El Timón has completely renovated the traditional wooden floor and used a steel and concrete to raise the level of the deck from high tides. Should be finished and back open by the time you read this. The Black Whale reopened last Thursday with a new style of restaurant under a palapa (palm ranch) facing the bay. They will have live music and be open daily. El Restaurante Terraza de Palermo at Palermo Hotel & Resort is having a Father's Day Dinner this Tuesday 23rd of June. See ad on back page for reservations. Last Saturday June 13th the Barrio Planta Project (BPP) concluded its first semester of the school year with a production of Pinocchio. The play was directed by volunteer Michael Young and produced by Denis Calderon. It was a compilation of students' work in art, dance, music, theater and English classes. It was performed in English with Spanish narration for the community. The Barrio Planta Project (BPP) is a free supplementary schooling program that provides the children in San Juan del Sur with education in English as a Second L a n g u a g e, t h e C r e a t i v e A r t s, communications and vocational training. We want to thank everyone who came out to the show and showed their support, thank Michael Young who made it happen and congratulate our students on a job well done! 4 P.4 18th June 2015 Del Sur News 18 - Junio 2015 P.4 Municipal Government of SJdS - Town Hall Meeting pabloplaguna@hotmail.com About 300 people from different communities and neighborhoods of San Juan del Sur participated in the Cabildo Informativo held on the 12th of June. The meeting respected the democratic rights that residents have under the Constitution of the Republic of Nicaragua to receive detailed information on the management of local governments. It was held at the Civic Center (Centro Civico) of the city. The Mayor (Alcaldesa) Dr. Rosa Elena Bello Norori and Vice Mayor Randall Granja were supported by the attendance of the full Municipal Council. Dr. Rosa Bello welcomed the various delegations and talked about the municipal management and local government projects. Eng. Eduardo Noguera, Director of Projects presented information on the different projects that the local government executed in the period 2014 with a total investment of Million Córdobas. Noguera said that the total investment for the period 2014 (45.44 Million Córdobas) was; 15,334,145 from the local taxpayers, 20,406,748 in transfer payments from the Central Government and 9,699,417 from other funding sources. Projects and budgeted expenditure continuing from 2014 into the year 2015 were presented as (all figures in Córdobas); Investment in repair of roads - 8,716,513. Urban Streets - 4,623,152. Sidewalks, curbs and drainage - 1,148,693. Public Use Projects - 736,894. Education - 1,795,000. Health - 1,159,911. Environment - 4,491,308. Water & Sewer - 5,111,678. Sports - 977,905. Better Housing - 472,736. Disaster Mitigation - 1,526,228. Modular Construction Teams - 3,503,993. Tourism - 639,380. Other Institutional Support - 9,765,016. Noguera explained the new project investment plan for this year, 2015 which included; repair of roads, urban streets, sidewalks, curbs and drainage, health, education, environment, water and sanitation, sports, housing, construction and communal services, other institutions required an investment of Million Córdobas ( from the local government, from central government and from other sources). The Municipal Financial Director; Martha Navarro detail the revenue side and reported that for the year 2014 an income of 28,263,697 Córdobas was budgeted and the actual was 32,256,069 or about 14% over the projected figure. Navarro said that revenues in the first half of the year 2015 fell appreciably due to administration problems with invoicing issued by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit which prevented the municipality from collecting some municipal taxes. Navarro reported that the situation is now back to normal and that they are in the process of standardizing the income tax collection process. There was the usual question time where those present had an opportunity to speak about their concerns regarding the projects and also the demands of some of the municipal rules.

5 P.5 18th June 2015 Del Sur News 18 - Junio 2015 P.5 Gobierno municipal de San Juan del Sur realizo Cabildo Informativo pabloplaguna@hotmail.com Unos 300 pobladores provenientes de las diferentes comunidades y barrios de San Juan del Sur participaron en el cabildo informativo realizado el 12 de junio. Ejercicio democrático constituido en la Constitución de la República como un derecho de los pobladores de recibir información detallada de la gestión de los gobiernos locales, actividad efectuada en el centro cívico de la municipalidad. Estuvieron presentes el consejo municipal en pleno, la alcaldesa Rosa Elena Bello Norori y el vice alcalde Randall Granja. La Dra. Rosa Elena Bello, dio la bienvenida a las diferentes delegaciones, así mismo menciono la gestión municipal que el gobierno local ha venido realizando. El Ing. Eduardo Noguera, director de proyecto, realizo una exposición sobre los diferentes proyectos que el gobierno local ejecutó en el periodo 2014 detallo el monto de la inversión fue de 45 millones 440 mil córdobas. Igualmente detallo las fuentes de financiamientos recurrentes, fondos propios 15, 334,145, transferencias del gobierno central 20, 406,748.72, otras fuentes 9, 699, Los proyectos que se están ejecutando en el año 2015, dio detalles de la inversión pública municipal realizada en reparación de caminos 8,716,513.08, calles urbanas 4,623,152.65, andenes y cunetas 1,148,693.78, obras de uso público 736,894.03, Educación 1, , salud 1,159,911.41,medio ambiente 4,491,308.05, agua y saneamiento 5,111,678.04, deporte 977,905.89, mejora de vivienda 472,736.89, Mitigación de desastres 1,526,228.03, pago de equipos del módulo de construcción 3,503,993.58, Turismo 639,380,otros fortalecimientos institucionales 9,765,016. El funcionario explico el avance en la ejecución del plan de Inversión del año 2015, reparación de caminos 335,189.22, calles urbanas 3, 901,621.22, presupuestado 6, 407,724, andenes y cunetas presupuestado , educación 275, ejecutados presupuestados de 1,955,191, salud 189,289.67, presupuestados 1,553, Medio ambiente 3,931, presupuestado 6 millones 228 mil, Agua y Saneamiento 429,346.92, presupuestado 2, , deporte 561,899.07, presupuestado 2, 411,693, vivienda 3,260,000, obras y servicios comunales 4,203, ejecutado, presupuestado 7,557,760, otros fortalecimientos institucional 9, 075,582.43, presupuestado 14 millones 043 mil 893 córdobas. Resumen de las fuentes de financiamiento, fondos propios del municipio 10, 844,885.55, transferencias del gobierno central 9, 969,480.22, otras fuentes 2,503,741.70, según el Ing. Eduardo Noguera el acumulado es de 22 millones 988 mil córdobas. La directora financiera municipalidad Martha Navarro, detallo sobre el comportamiento de los ingresos, informó que el año 2014 estaba presupuestado fue de 28, 263,697, pero se recaudaron 32, 256, un sobre cumplimiento del 14%. Navarro expreso que las recaudaciones en el primer semestre del año 2015 bajaron sensiblemente debido a que la municipalidad enfrento la falta de boleterías emitidas por el ministerio de hacienda y crédito público, lo que permitió que la municipalidad buscara nuevas formas de cobros de los impuestos municipales, informó que ya la situación está superada y que está en vías de normalizar del proceso de cobranza de los ingreso tributarios. Por su parte los presentes al cabildo informativo dieron a conocer sus inquietudes en cuanto al cumplimientos de los diferentes proyectos y demandas de aplicación de algunas normas municipales.

García, dijo que la charla dirigida a los jóvenes y empresarios turísticos de la zona y tiene como objetivo promover la prevención que como empresarios turísticos tenemos el compromiso de unirnos junto a los distintos sectores de nuestra sociedad para evitar que nuestra ciudad se convierta en un narco destino donde prevalezca el tráfico de drogas, la explotación sexual de niños, niñas, adolescentes, trata de personas y otros delitos que son más evidentes en destinos turísticos con más desarrollo.
