1 SÉPTIMO PROGRAMA MARCO: ESPACIO NEWSLETTER CDTI de abril de NOTICIAS 1) Your week at App Camp - the ESA App Developer Lab (18-22/6/2012 Frascati) Are you an innovative developer from Europe with experience in app development? Then take your chance and apply to spend one week at the European Space Agency (ESA) near Rome between 18 and 22 June ESA is inviting 20 developers to its ESRIN location in Frascati (including travel expenses and accommodation) - and you can be one of them! Whether you are selected for the App Camp will depend on the creativity of your previous works with regard to content, usability, design, and the underlying business concepts, so show us the best apps you have developed. Seize the opportunity to meet with like-minded people, create mobile applications using satellite data, and gain insight into ESA's work. ESA provides access to satellite data for the development of mobile applications (Android and ios) in four predefined categories. The goal is to come up with a concept for mobile apps using Earth monitoring data on smartphones, in particular by leveraging the possibilities offered by the GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) programme. You don't need any experience in integrating such data to take part in the App Camp. Participants will be able to choose their preferred category and will then be grouped accordingly into teams of four. The winning team - whose members will each receive the ipad3 - will be selected by a jury of ESA representatives on the final day of the App Camp. Apply now! 2 Choose your favourite category GMES for Everyday Life (two teams) Expected output: concepts that provide GMES and other Earth observation data to specific target groups in innovative ways. The choice of topics will be completely open, from healthcare and climate change to leisure and business applications. Observe and Learn (one team) Expected output: an educational app that provides an easy way to learn about satellites and the data derived from them. Play the GaMES (one team) Expected output: a mobile game, a social networking platform, a couponing app, a crowdsourcing application reinvent GMES for the next generation. The Earth and Beyond (one team) Expected output: anything that involves monitoring, observing, describing, or depicting the universe. EVENTOS 1) Fijada fecha para conferencia internacional y evento de matchmaking de la 6ª convocatoria Espacio-VII Programa Marco, Universidad de Surrey 20-21/6/12 Este año la red COSMOS de NCP s de Espacio en FP7 está organizando un evento internacional informativo sobre la sexta convocatoria, aparte del evento oficial que tendrá lugar más tarde (posiblemente en septiembre en París). Tendrá lugar en la Universidad de Surrey durante los días 20 y 21 de junio. Es una excelente ocasión para conocer el contenido de la convocatoria, interactuar con la Comisión Europea, presentar ideas, conocer las ideas de otros, buscar socios Este evento es complementario con el evento nacional que organiza CDTI, cuya fecha ya se fijó y se anunció en la Newsletter 9 (Madrid, 5 de julio). Les recomendamos asistir a este evento y les invitamos a ponerse en contacto con CDTI en caso de que les interese hacer alguna presentación, pues la agenda aún no está cerrada del todo y aún hay alguna capacidad de influir. 4 3) CONFERENCE FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT Renewable energy: The added value of satellite solutions for SMEs, Graz, (Austria) 11/9/12 Eurisy, FFG - the Austrian Research Promotion Agency and ICS Internationalisierungs Center Steiermark are pleased to announce the conference they are organising on Renewable energy: The added value of satellite solutions for SMEs, to be held on 11 September 2012 in Graz, Austria. The conference will be held in the premises of the Economic Development Institute in Graz (Wirtschaftsförderungsinstitut Steiermark / WIFI). During this free one-day conference, participants will have the opportunity to learn about innovative, operational satellite applications in the renewable energy sector, through good practice examples from SMEs, and network with providers of satellite solutions, policy makers and SME representatives. The Conference will be held at the Oud Sint Jan congress centre in Bruges in Belgium from June
