2 THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER 2 APRIL 10, 2016 During this time of Easter joy, it seems most appropriate to celebrate who we are as a parish, named after the Resurrection. One of the traditional ways that we have done this is through our bazaar. Many thanks to everyone who volunteered in, prayed for, and donated to the bazaar. Let us continue to celebrate our Easter joy and continue to contemplate the light of Resurrection. Jesus is alive! He is risen! Durante este tiempo de alegría de la Pascua, parece mas apropiado celebrar lo que somos como una parroquia, que lleva como nombre la Resurrección. Una de las formas tradicionales en como lo hemos hecho es a través de nuestro bazar. Muchas gracias a todos los que ayudaron, orando y donando a el bazar. Vamos a seguir celebrando nuestra alegría de la Pascua y continuar contemplando la luz de la Resurrección. Jesús vive! Él ha resucitado! Easter Season Remember that we are living the Easter spirit for fifty days, until the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost on May 15. The Resurrection is such a significant feast day for our faith, the foundation of our belief, that we continue our celebration. We go forth as people of the Resurrection, called to proclaim the love and mercy of the risen Christ in our every day activities. There is the fear of the disciples, who gathered behind closed doors; and then there is the mission of Jesus, who sends them into the world to proclaim the message of forgiveness. This contrast may also be present in us, experienced as an interior struggle between a closed heart and the call of love to open doors closed by sin. It is a call that frees us to go out of ourselves. Christ, who for love entered through doors barred by sin, death and the powers of hell, wants to enter into each one of us to break open the locked doors of our hearts. Jesus, who by his resurrection has overcome the fear and dread which imprison us, wishes to throw open our closed doors and send us out. The path that the Risen Master shows us is a one way street, it goes in only one direction: this means that we must move beyond ourselves to witness to the healing power of love that has conquered us. We see before us a humanity that is often wounded and fearful, a humanity that bears the scars of pain and uncertainty. Before the anguished cry for mercy and peace, we hear Jesus inspiring invitation: As the Father has sent me, even so I send you (Jn 20:21). Pope Francis, April 3, 2016 Divine Mercy Sunday Tiempo de Pascua Recordemos que estamos viviendo el espíritu de Pascua durante cincuenta días, hasta la venida del Espíritu Santo en Pentecostés el 15 de mayo. La Resurrección es un día de fiesta tan importante para nuestra fe, el fundamento de nuestra creencia, que continuamos nuestra celebración. Vamos adelante como personas de la Resurrección, llamados a anunciar el amor y la misericordia de Cristo resucitado en nuestras actividades cotidianas. "Existe el temor de los discípulos, que se reunieron a puerta cerrada; y luego está la misión de Jesús, quien los envía al mundo para anunciar el mensaje de perdón. Este contraste también puede estar presente en nosotros, experimentando la lucha interior entre un corazón cerrado y la llamada del amor para abrir puertas cerradas por el pecado. Es una llamada que nos libera para salir de nosotros mismos. Cristo, que por amor entró por las puertas enrejadas por el pecado, la muerte y los poderes del infierno, quiere entrar en cada uno de nosotros para abrir las puertas cerradas de nuestros corazones. Jesús, que por su resurrección ha vencido al miedo y temor que nos aprisionan, desea dejar abiertas las puertas cerradas y liberarnos. El camino que el Maestro resucitado nos muestra es una calle de un solo sentido, que va en una sola dirección: esto significa que hay que ir más allá de nosotros mismos para dar testimonio del poder curativo del amor que nos ha conquistado. Vemos ante nosotros a una humanidad que a menudo es herida y temerosa, una humanidad que lleva las cicatrices de dolor e incertidumbre. Antes de que el grito de angustia por la misericordia y la paz, oímos la invitación inspiradora de Jesús: Como el Padre me envió, también yo os envío»(jn 20,21)".
