1 Lesson 36: Infinitive 1 Lección 36: Infinitivo 1 Reading (Lectura) My dream is to live in New York. ( Mi sueño es vivir en Nueva York ) I would like to learn more about your country! (Me gustaría aprender más sobre tu país!) It is very difficult for me to study French. ( Es muy difícil para mí estudiar francés ) My duty is to clean the toilet. ( Mi deber es limpiar el inodoro ) I have some tasks to finish over the weekend. (Tengo algunas tareas que terminar durante el fin de semana.) We have five questions to answer. ( Tenemos cinco preguntas para contestar ) 1
2 There are some books to read over there. ( Hay algunos libros para leer por allí ) Is this an interesting story to read? ( Es ésta una historia interesante para leer?) Greg was eager to begin his studies. ( Greg estaba ansioso por empezar sus estudios ) Am I old enough to drive? ( Soy lo suficientemente mayor para conducir?) It is difficult to write a song. ( Es difícil escribir una canción ) Are you ready to start? ( Estás listo para empezar?) 2
3 Grammar focus (Enfoque gramatical) El infinitive esta formado de to + verb ; actúan como sustantivos, adjetivos y adverbios complementos. E.g.)To live in New York is my dream. (Vivir en Nueva York es mi sueño) I have skills to make html files. (Tengo habilidades para hacer archivos html) I want to be a teacher. (Quiero ser un maestro) Además, infinitivos siguen verbos como want, hope, decide, promise, etc. 3
4 Speaking (Hablando) 1) It is good for our health to sleep early. (Es bueno para nuestra salud a dormir temprano) 2) It is fun for the students to learn about music. (Es divertido para los estudiantes aprender sobre música.) 3) To learn is a good thing at any age. ( Aprender es una buena cosa a cualquier edad) 4) My main goal is to leave. (Mi principal objetivo es irme.) 5) I have three applicants to interview today. (Tengo tres candidatos para entrevistar hoy) 6) I need some books to study.
