Thank you for considering a contribution of your time, talent, treasure and tradition to these priorities in order to make our Catholic community the home of Christ. The following nine pastoral priorities have been defined by the representative members of the Pastoral Council. They are measurable and obtainable with the help of each of our community members. Over the next five years, we will work hard to make these things happen so we can fulfill our mission: We are St. Anne Catholic Church. A welcoming community, inspired by the Holy Spirit, we seek to proclaim Christ s loving mission. Son apreciables y obtenible con la ayuda de cada miembro de nuestra comunidad. Durante los próximos cinco años vamos a trabajar duro para que estas cosas sucedan entonces podemos realizar nuestra misión: Somos Iglesia Católica de Santa Ana. Fellowship: 1. To build community in the parish and foster a sense of belonging to the church family (all parishioners) as the Body of Christ by providing more social and spiritual activities that appeal to families. 2. To improve communication involving parish social events. 3. To promote the family, in all stages, as the domestic church in which God is present and Catholic values are fostered. Pastoral Care: 1. To identify Catholics who are in need, especially the homebound, the sick, those in health care facilities and those detained in correction facilities and provide for their pastoral, spiritual and emotional needs. 2. To involve more parishioners in the ministry of pastoral care. 3. To work with and communicate within our parish as well as with other churches, organizations, and institutional staffs engaged in pastoral care ministry and to observe and follow laws and regulations governing health care and corrections. 4. To identify the homebound and their health care needs and develop a disaster/emergency preparedness plan on the parish level in the event of a large or small scale disaster or pandemic outbreak. 2 Inquietudes Humanas: 1. Coordinar servicios entre nuestra parroquia, el Vicariato del sur de Oregón y la Arquidiócesis para responder al llamamiento de la iglesia a las obras de misericordia corporales y espirituales. 2. Promover la educación de las enseñanzas de la iglesia en cuestiones de justicia social (véase USCCB "siete temas de enseñanza social católica") y un sentido personal para abogar por estas enseñanzas. 3. Desarrollar y apoyar programas para responder a los hermanos necesitados dentro de nuestra parroquia, en la comunidad y en cooperación con oportunidades ecuménicas que abogan por la misma causa. 4. Educar y promover el respeto a la vida y la dignidad de la persona humana. Formación de fe: 1. Crear un deseo de formación de fe de por vida y dar oportunidades para lograrlo. 2. Capacitar a todos los católicos para que vivan sus promesas bautismales. 3. Fomentar el estudio continuo de las sagradas escrituras y la Sagrada Tradición Católica. 4. Fomentar una comprensión madura de la Fé y la Misión de la iglesia. 5. Educar y apoyar a los padres en su responsabilidad de primeros maestros de sus hijos en cuestiones y prácticas de la Fé. 6. Promover una mejor comprensión y la participación en los Sacramentos. 7. Familiarizar a otros con la fe Católica y prepararlos para la recepción de los sacramentos de iniciación. 11
Human Concerns: 1. To coordinate services between our parish, the Southern Oregon Vicariate, and the Archdiocese to respond to the Church s call to the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. 2. To promote the Church s teachings on social justice issues (see USCCB s Seven Themes of Catholic Social Teaching ) and a personal sense of advocacy of these teachings. 3. To develop and support outreach programs to respond to our brothers and sisters in need within our parish, community and beyond including ecumenical opportunities which advocate the same. 4. To educate and promote respect for the life and dignity of the human person. Faith Formation: 1. To create a desire for life-long faith formation and provide the opportunities thereof. 2. To enable all Catholics to live out their baptismal commitments. 3. To encourage life-long study of the Holy Scriptures and Catholic Sacred Tradition. 4. To foster a mature understanding of the Faith and Mission of the Church. 5. To educate and support parents in their responsibility as the primary teachers of their children in the ways and practices of the Faith. 6. To promote a fuller understanding and participation of the Sacraments. 7. To introduce people to the Catholic faith, and prepare them for the reception of the sacraments of initiation. 10 Confraternidad: 1. Construir comunidad dentro de la parroquia y fomentar un sentido de pertenencia a la familia de la Iglesia (todos los feligreses) como el cuerpo de Cristo, por medio de actividades sociales y espirituales que atraigan a las familias. 2. Mejorar la comunicación con respecto a los eventos sociales de la parroquia. 3. Promover a la familia, en todas las etapas, como la "iglesia doméstica" en la cual Dios está presente y donde se observan los valores Católicos. Cuidado Pastoral: 1. Identificar a los católicos que sufren necesidades, especialmente los que están recluídos en la casa, los enfermos, los confinados en centros de salud y los encarcelados y llenar sus necesidades pastorales, espirituales y emocionales. 2. Involucrar a más feligreses en el ministerio de cuidado pastoral. 3. Trabajar y comunicarse con los miembros de nuestra parroquia, así como con otras iglesias, organizaciones y con el personal de otras instituciones que cuentan con un ministerio de cuidado pastoral y observar y seguir las leyes y reglamentos que rigen tanto los sistemas de salubridad como las instituciones correccionales. 4. Identificar quienes están recluidos en casa, y sus necesidades de atención médica y desarrollar un plan de preparación para desastres y emergencias a nivel parroquial en caso de desastres de gran o pequeña escala, o en caso de una pandemia. 3
Evangelization: 1. Proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to all through words and actions. 2. To foster an understanding and appreciation for the different rites and traditions within the Catholic Church. 3. To reach out to those who are no longer practicing their faith and invite them to return to the parish community. 4. To promote Christian unity by respecting and understanding the faith traditions and heritages of others. 5. To promote vocations to the priestly and religious life and the ministries of the Church. 6. To promote vocations to the married and single life. Prayer & Liturgy: 1. To make Jesus the center point of our lives through the Word and Sacrament of the Mass. 2. To teach and promote the importance of prayer in our daily lives. 3. To create a joyful celebration and sense of solemnity during the sacrifice of the Mass. 4. To promote involvement and provide training and continuing education for liturgical ministers. 5. To create a more active, full and conscious participation of parishioners in the liturgy of the Church. 6. To celebrate the richness and diversity of the liturgical seasons and promote an understanding thereof. 7. To promote the continuing education and recruitment of music ministers. 8. To promote communal education on the role of music in the ministry. 4 Hospitalidad: 1. Promover una actitud de hospitalidad y comunidad entre feligreses y hacia los visitantes. 2. Promover un acercamiento a los feligreses nuevos y a aquellos que buscan la Fé Católica. 3. Animar a todos los feligreses a que participen en el Ministerio y la vida de la Iglesia. Ministerio para jóvenes y adultos jóvenes: 1. Proporcionar oportunidades para los adolescentes de la parroquia para participar en las actividades del Ministerio Juvenil hasta el final de la secundaria. 2. Animar a los jóvenes y a los adultos jóvenes para que participen activmente en la vida parroquial. 3. Hospitality: 1. To promote an attitude of hospitality and community among parishioners and towards visitors. 2. To promote an outreach to new parishioners and those seeking out the Catholic Faith. 3. To encourage all parishioners to become involved in the ministry and life of the Church. Youth/Young Adult Ministry: 1. Provide opportunities for teens of the parish to participate in youth ministry activities through the end of high school. 2. Encourage the youth and young adults to be active participants in parish life. 3. Assist young adults in bridging the gap between their adolescent experience of faith and being fully integrated as adults in the Catholic Church. 4. To foster the life long spiritual growth of each young person. 5. To develop a spirit of community through love and service. 6. To encourage every teen and young adult to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 7. To increase the knowledge and practice of the faith among our young people. 8 Evangelización: 1. Proclamar el Evangelio de Jesucristo para todos a través de palabras y acciones. 2. Fomentar la comprensión y el reconocimiento de los diferentes ritos y tradiciones de la Iglesia Católica. 3. Acercarse a aquellos que han dejado de practicar su fe e invitarlos a volver a la comunidad parroquial. 4. Promover la unidad cristiana por medio del respeto y la comprensión de las tradiciones religiosas y los patrimonios de los demás. 5. Promover vocaciones a la vida sacerdotal y religiosa y a los ministerios de la iglesia. 6. Promover vocaciones a la vida matrimonial y a la soltería. Oración y liturgia: 1. Hacer a Jesús el punto central de nuestras vidas a través de la Palabra y del Sacramento de la Misa. 2. Enseñar y promover la importancia de la oración en nuestra vida cotidiana. 3. Crear una celebración alegre y un ambiente solemne durante el sacrificio de la Misa. 4. Promover la participación y proporcionar entrenamiento y educación continua para ministros litúrgicos. 5. Crear entre los feligreses una participación más activa, plena y consciente en la liturgia de la iglesia. 6. Celebrar la riqueza y diversidad de las partes del año litúrgicos y promover un entendimiento del mismo. 7. Promover la educación continua y el reclutamiento de ministros de música. 8. Educar a la comunidad sobre el papel de la música en el ministerio. 5
Hispanic Ministry: 1. To strive for a warm and friendly environment where people of different cultures can feel welcome to participate and interact. 2. To provide information about different ethnic groups cultural traditions. 3. To promote a mutually beneficial encounter between Hispanic parishioners and those from other cultures in our parish, effecting mutual respect and appreciation for the positive values and customs of each, in the spirit of Catholic Inculturation. 4. To promote the integration of Hispanic youth and young adults into all parish programs and activities and to develop culturally specific opportunities when appropriate. 5. To assist and encourage Hispanic families to bring their children into St. Anne Catholic School. 6. To develop and offer sacramental preparation programs in Spanish as needed. 7. To encourage and provide leadership training to Hispanics in our parish. 8. To facilitate the celebration of the Liturgy and the other Sacraments in the cultural context that best ensures Hispanics active, conscious, and full participation in the parish. 9. To promote the integration of the Hispanic community in to the wider community. Ministerio Hispano: 1. Tratar de crear un ambiente cálido y amistoso, donde las gentes de diferentes culturas se sientan bienvenidos a participar y a actuar con los demás. 2. Proporcionar información sobre las tradiciones culturales de diferentes grupos étnicos. 3. Promover un encuentro mutuamente beneficioso entre los feligreses hispanos y los de otras culturas en nuestra parroquia, logrando mutuo respeto y aprecio por los valores positivos y costumbres de cada uno en el espíritu de la inculturación católica. 4. Promover la integración de los jóvenes y de los adultos jóvenes hispanos en todos los programas y actividades de la parroquia y dar oportunidades culturalmente específicas cuando sea apropiado. 5. Ayudar y animar a las familias hispanas a que traigan a sus hijos a la Escuela Católica de Santa Ana. 6. Desarrollar y ofrecer programas de preparación sacramental en español según sea necesario. 7. Fomentar y dar entrenamiento de liderazgo a los hispanos de nuestra parroquia. 8. Facilitar la celebración de la liturgia y los otros Sacramentos dentro del contexto cultural que asegure una participación activa, consciente y plena de los hispanos en la parroquia. 9. Promover la integración de la comunidad hispana en la comunidad general. 6 7
