One way is to simply place the subject after the verb, and change the inflection of your voice: Underline the subject and circle the verb in each of these Carlos está en la biblioteca. Sometimes the written question marks and the rising tone of the speaker s voice alone may indicate the difference between a statement and a question: Hay una fiesta en el colegio mañana. Sometimes you can add a tag word such as no? or verdad? to the end of a sentence, much as you might add right?, don t you?, etc., in English: Hay una fiesta en el colegio hoy, verdad? There is a party at school today, right? When answering questions, pay attention to the verb form. The verb form in the answer will be based on the question. If the question is asked of you, the answer is in the I form. Gustar is a different verb than most that means! There are 2 forms of the verb and special starter words that go along with them. The 2 forms of gustar are: singular (talking about only one person/thing) plural (more than one person/thing you are talking about) The small words (Indirect Object Pronouns) that go along with gustar are as follows! They are NOT the same as subject pronouns. Write them in below. When you use an infinitive in your gustar sentence, you are saying an activity you like to do. An infinitive is the basic form of a verb. In English, most infinitives include the word to. Compare the following infinitive in Spanish and English: Spanish (leer)= English (to read) English English equivalent Spanish Translation I like to read. To me it is pleasing to read. You (inf) like to run. To you (inf) it is pleasing to run. He likes to study. To him it is pleasing to study. We like to eat. To us it is pleasing to eat. You all like to talk.
