1 MIRADAS DOC Reglamento. La apertura de la convocatoria se realizará el 1 de Agosto de 2018 y la admisión de obras estará disponible hasta el 5 de octubre de El derecho de inscripción es gratuito. La inscripción deberá formalizarse rellenando la ficha de inscripción en el portal en el apartado de Miradasdoc. La ficha de inscripción que no cumpla con estas normas será automáticamente eliminada de concurso. La producción de los trabajos deberá ser posterior al 1 de julio de Cada participante podrá presentar uno o más documentales. Cada documental deberá ser presentado en uno solo de los siguientes Concursos y categorías: Concurso Internacional: Mejor Documental, Mejor Cortometraje y Mejor Ópera Prima (temática social). Concurso Nacional: Mejor Documental de Temática Social. El festival exige como formatos de proyección el archivo de vídeo HD o vídeo profesional (BluRay) Las películas seleccionadas deberán presentar copia de proyección con subtítulos en español. Para participar en la selección deberá, una vez efectuada la inscripción electrónica, subir la película en un archivo digital al portal mencionado anteriormente. La subida de películas al apartado MiradasDoc en Movibeta está habilitada de modo gratuito para el usuario. Junto a la película, es obligatorio adjuntar los siguientes documentos: Stills de la película, Fotografía del director, Biofilmografía del director, Sinopsis de la película, Ficha técnica completa, Lista de diálogos Subtítulos Los jurados estarán compuestos por reconocidas personalidades del medio audiovisual y el mundo de la cultura. Se convocarán tres jurados, integrados cada uno de ellos por tres personas. (Jurado de corto y largometraje internacional, Jurado de Ópera Prima y Premio Nacional). Así mismo, para determinar las películas de apertura y de cierre del festival, la o las películas para el programa Enseñandoc y otras películas programadas en secciones especiales fuera de concurso, actuará como Jurado el equipo directivo del festival.

2 Los miembros del jurado y del staff no podrán concursar en calidad de autor, realizador o productor. La totalidad de los trabajos participantes, estén seleccionados o no, formarán parte del archivo de documentales del Festival, depositado en la Biblioteca Pública Municipal de Guía de Isora. Este archivo en ningún caso se utilizará con fines lucrativos por parte de la organización. Los documentales presentados a concurso podrán ser seleccionados para el Screening de MiradasDocMarket. Una selección de las obras inscritas en el festival pasará a formar parte, después de un proceso de selección independiente, del catálogo de documentales de MiradasDocMarket. MiradasDocMarket podrá abrir una convocatoria específica para su screening con fechas diferentes de la convocatoria del festival MiradasDoc. Las películas que pasen a formar parte del catálogo de MiradasDocMarket y que opten, por lo tanto, a su venta a los canales y distribuidores compradores acreditados en el festival estarán disponibles para su visionado exclusivo y protegido en un sitio creado expresamente por MiradasDocMarket en el portal Movibeta. A ese catálogo virtual, accesible durante los seis meses posteriores al festival, sólo tendrán acceso, mediante claves, los compradores y commisioning editors acreditados en el mercado del festival. Premios oficiales: Entre todos los documentales seleccionados para la SECCIÓN OFICIAL a concurso, los jurados, integrados cada uno de ellos por tres miembros, profesionales internacionales del género documental o el mundo de la cultura y oportunamente designados por el equipo de dirección de Miradasdoc y ratificados por Consejo de Administración para esa función a lo largo del mes de diciembre de 2018, decidirá la concesión de los premios que a continuación se relacionan, de lo cual levantará acta un funcionario del Ayuntamiento, siendo comunicado a los premiados en el tablón de anuncios y en la página web del Festival. CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL. Premio MiradasDoc al Mejor Documental El premio MiradasDoc al Mejor Documental es un reconocimiento a la obra documental y de autor. (Jurado Internacional) Premio al Mejor Cortometraje Documental El premio al Mejor Corto Documental es una apuesta por este formato de extensión menor de 30 minutos. (Jurado Internacional) Premio a la Mejor Ópera Prima Este premio es otorgado como un apoyo a los nuevos realizadores y sus primeras obras. (Jurado para ópera prima y premio nacional) Premios Especiales: Se otorgarán los siguientes premios especiales entre todos los documentales seleccionados a las distintas categorías de la Sección Oficial a Concurso: Premio Especial del Público. Honorífico. El público asistente al festival escoge sus documentales favoritos y vota durante los días que dura el evento. Premios honoríficos: El jurado podrá otorgar un premio honorífico a uno de los documentales seleccionados en cada categoría oficial: Mejor Documental, Mejor Cortometraje Documental y Mejor ópera Prima.

3 CONCURSO NACIONAL Premio al Mejor Documental Español El auge del documental en España en los últimos años, nos ha llevado a crear un premio especial destinado al documental que se produce en nuestro país. (Jurado para Ópera Prima y Premio Nacional) Premio honorífico. Consideraciones adicionales en relación a los premios: Para participar en la categoría y optar al premio Ópera Prima la película deberá ser el primer largometraje o cortometraje documental de su autor o autores. MiradasDoc considera como cortometrajes aquellos documentales que no rebasen los 30 minutos de duración. Las películas que opten al Premio Nacional no podrán haber sido exhibidas antes en Canarias y no podrán haber sido exhibidas en televisión o internet. Las películas que opten al Premio Internacional sólo podrán haber concursado antes en un festival español y no haber sido emitidas por televisión, ni portales de internet. Toda la producción anual de documentales de las Islas Canarias puede ser seleccionada para el Festival, pero solo aquellas que no hayan sido transmitidas por televisión o por Internet podrán optar a premio. Las películas que no se hayan proyectado previamente en Tenerife recibirán un interés especial. No podrá concederse ningún premio ex aequo. El premio será objeto de la retención correspondiente prevista en la normativa que regula el I.R.P.F. Las productoras de las películas premiadas deberán utilizar en su publicidad el logotipo del festival Miradasdoc y/o el texto del galardón tal como ha sido adjudicado. En futuras ediciones del Festival las variaciones económicas de los premios establecidos serán acordadas por el Comité Organizador. El Festival MiradasDoc premia exclusivamente al realizador de la obra. El festival MiradasDoc, a través de su comité de selección, propondrá un título de entre las películas presentadas a la convocatoria, o por selección directa, para la jornada de inauguración (Opening Film) y la de Clausura (Closing Film). 4 MIRADAS DOC Regulations and conditions. Entries will be accepted from 1st August 2018 and the deadline is 5th October Registration is free of charge. Any registration which does not fulfil these rules will be automatically excluded from the competition. The work must have been made after 1st July Each participant may submit one or more documentaries. Each documentary is to be presented in only one of the following competitions and categories: International Competition: Best Documentary, Best Short Film and Best First Film (social issues) National Competition: Best Documentary with a Social Theme. The festival requires the projection formats to be HD video files or professional video (BluRay). The selected films must be submitted with Spanish subtitles. To participate in the selection, after electronic registration has been completed, upload the film in digital format. Uploading films to the MiradasDoc section of DocFilmDepot is free of charge for the user. Along with the film, it is mandatory to attach the following documents: Stills of the film Photograph of the director Director s biography-filmography Film synopsis Full technical details Dialogue list Subtitles The juries will be composed of recognized personalities from audio-visual circles and the world of culture. Three juries will be convened, each composed of three people. (Jury for international short and feature film, Jury for First Film and National Award, Jury for the Canary Islands). To determine which films will open and close the festival, the films for Enseñandoc and the other films programmed in special sections outside the competition, the festival management team will act as jury. Jury members and staff cannot compete as author, director or producer. All the participating works, whether they are selected or not, will be part of the Festival documentary archive, deposited in the Municipal Public Library in Guía de Isora. This archive will in no way be used for profit by the organisation.

5 The documentaries submitted to the competition may be selected for the MiradasDocMarket Screening. After a separate selection process, some of the works registered in the festival will become part of the MiradasDocMarket catalogue of documentaries. MiradasDocMarket may open a specific call for screening with different dates to those of the call for entries to the MiradasDoc festival. The films that become part of the MiradasDocMarket catalogue, and which therefore opt to be sold through its purchasing channels and distributors accredited by the festival, will be available for exclusive viewing and protected on a site specifically created by MiradasDocMarket. In this virtual catalogue, accessible during the six months following the festival, access will only be available to buyers and commissioning editors accredited in the festival s market and will be password-protected. Official Prizes: From all the documentaries selected for the competition s OFFICIAL SECTION, three juries each of three members, international professionals of the documentary genre or the world of culture and duly appointed by the Miradasdoc management team and ratified by the Board of Directors for that function throughout the month of December 2018, will decide the awarding of the prizes that are listed below, of which a written record will be made by an official of the City Council, and which will be communicated to the winners through the noticeboard and on the Festival website: INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION. MiradasDoc Prize for the Best Documentary 6,000. The MiradasDoc Best Documentary prize is a recognition of the documentary and the film-maker. (International Jury) Prize for the Best Short Documentary Film. 2,500 The award for Best Short Documentary is a commitment to this format of less than 30 minutes duration. (International Jury) Prize for the Best First Film. 3,000 This prize is awarded in order to support new filmmakers and their first films. (Jury for best first film and national award) Special Prizes: The following special prizes will be awarded between all the documentaries selected for the various categories of the official section of the competition: Special Audience Prize. Honorary. The festival audience will choose their favourite documentaries and vote during the course of the event. Honorary Prizes: The jury may award an honorary prize to one of the documentaries selected in each official category: Best Documentary, Best Short Documentary and Best First Film. NATIONAL COMPETITION Prize for the Best Spanish Documentary. 2,000 The documentary boom in Spain in recent years has led us to create a special prize for a documentary produced in our country. (Jury for the Best First Film and National Prize) Honorary Prize. Additional provisions related to the prizes: To participate in the First Film Prize, a film must be the first documentary full-length or short film by its maker(s). MiradasDoc considers short documentaries to be those that do not exceed 30 minutes. The films competing for the National Prize may not have been exhibited before in the Canary Islands and must not have been shown on television or internet.

6 The films competing for the International Prize may only have competed before in a Spanish festival and may not have been broadcast on television or shown through internet portals. The entire annual production of documentary film from the Canary Islands may be selected for the Festival, but only those films that have not been broadcast on television or the internet may be awarded a prize. Films which have not previously been screened in Tenerife are especially valued. No prize will be awarded jointly to two or more films. The award will be subject to the corresponding withholding under the rules governing income tax. The producers of the winning films must use in their publicity the Miradasdoc festival logo and/or text highlighting the prize awarded. In future Festivals, any changes to the financial value of the prizes will be agreed by the Organising Committee. The MiradasDoc Festival awards prizes exclusively to the filmmaker. The MiradasDoc festival, through its selection committee, will propose two films from those entered for the competition, or by direct selection, for the Opening and Closing Films.
