2 Midnight Musings November 21, 2010 Holidays and Holy-days Father Paul Vuturo Dear Family, Three parish events will lead us into this special holiday and holy-day time of year: our celebration of Thanksgiving and our two Advent Missions. Take time for the Lord Thursday morning to celebrate the Eucharist the word means thanksgiving. We will have only one Mass that day to give us the opportunity to celebrate our parish unity together as we sing, praise and worship the Lord. We are grateful to the Knights of Columbus and the Columbiettes who will provide light refreshments after the Liturgy. As we move into the Advent Season, we have planned two Advent Spiritual Renewal Missions. Our theme will be We Walk in the Light of the Lord on these spiritual evenings of preaching, prayer, music and song. The program on Tuesday evening will include the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation (Confession). Then we will end each Mission with a Healing Mass and the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick on Wednesday evening. You can read much more about these Advent missions in coming bulletins. Our Spanish Mission starts the first week of Advent, Monday, November 29 th, Tuesday, November 30 th (Confessions in English and Spanish), and Wednesday, December 1 st (Healing Mass and Anointing of the Sick). The program starts each night at 7:30 PM. The Abba Mission priest will be Father Richard Mullen, OSA. He served over 20 years in Peru and speaks Spanish like he was from Spain. This dynamic and compassionate priest serves as a Parochial Vicar at Little Flower in Hollywood. His preaching is magnificent. With Father Mullen will be an Abba Music Minister and his team, Albert Coppo. Some of you may know him already. He too is a wonderful and talented music minister. Our English Mission will take place on the evenings of Monday, December 13 th, Tuesday, December 14 th (Confessions in English and Spanish), and Wednesday, December 15 th (Healing Mass and Anointing of the Sick). The program starts each night at 7:30 PM. We are pleased to have Fr. John O Grady as our Mission Priest. He has a super background in preaching, teaching, parish missions, and priest convocations as well. He has taught at St. Thomas University for 20 years. Retired and now living in North Miami, he assists with Masses at St. Joseph Parish on Miami Beach and Little Flower Parish in Coral Gables. Our Music Minister will be Mickey Itchon and his beautiful gifted music team. Many of you may know Mickey from Emmaus Retreat. I am asking that all parish functions be canceled for the three nights of the Mission. It is critical for everyone in the community to attend these inspirational events in the life of our St. Louis Parish. I ask you to invite someone you know and/or anyone who may be out of touch with the Church or our loving Father in heaven. This is a time of Discipleship and Stewardship, if there ever was one. We all need to feel the caressing arms of our Lord around us. We all need to unite in prayer and forgiveness and feel the everlasting love of Jesus. Yours in Christ,

Se desempeñó como párroco en dos territorios misioneros y en los últimos nueve años sirvió como miembro del equipo de formación y como director espiritual en el Programa de Formación de los Agustinos, ayudando a formar jóvenes para la vida religiosa y sacerdotal. El es Pastor Asociado en la Iglesia de Little Flower en Hollywood. En el presente, Alberto esta mayormente envuelto en la Parroquia de Santa Catalina de Siena en Miami, en la cual sirve como Director de Música y además tiene a su cargo un grupo de alabanza conducido en ingles. Aparte de sus habilidades como instrumentalista y vocalista, Alberto ha ganado gran reputación como un arreglista y productor creativo dentro del ámbito de la música católica. Hoy en día, su labor goza de gran prestigio y exposición internacional. Nació en Lima, Perú, Alberto reside en Miami desde Su amor por la música lo trajo de vuelta a la Iglesia. Desde entonces ha estado envuelto activamente en diferentes áreas del ministerio musical, apoyando otros ministerios y programas de ayuda a la comunidad. 8 Pensamientos de Media Noche 21 de noviembre del 2010 Días de fiesta y Días especiales Padre Paul Vuturo Querida Familia: Tres eventos parroquiales que nos guiarán a un día de fiesta especial y a un tiempo especial en el año: la celebración del Día de Acción de Gracias y nuestras dos Misiones de Adviento. Haga el propósito de asistir el jueves en la mañana a la Eucaristía palabra que significa acción de gracias. Sólo tendremos una Misa ese día para darnos la oportunidad de celebrar juntos nuestra unidad parroquial cantando, alabando y adorando al Señor. Nuestro agradecimiento a los Caballeros de Colón y a la Damas que proveerán los refrigerios para después de la Liturgia. Al tiempo que nos adentramos en la temporada de Adviento, hemos planificado dos Misiones de Renovación Espiritual de Adviento. Nuestro tema en estas noches de prédica, oración y canciones será Caminando en la Luz del Señor. El programa del martes nos dará la oportunidad de hacer la reconciliación (Confesión). Terminaremos cada Misión con una Misa de Sanación y Unción de los Enfermos el miércoles en la noche. Puede leer más sobre estas Misiones en el boletín de cada semana. Su reputación como predicador, maestro, facilitador de misiones y convocaciones sacerdotales es impresionante. El ha sido profesor en la Universidad de St. Thomas por más de 20 años. Esta retirado y actualmente reside en el Norte de Miami, donde ayuda en las Misas de la Parroquia de St. Joseph en Miami Beach y en la Parroquia de Little Flower en Coral Gables. Estará acompañado por Mickey Itchon y su maravilloso equipo musical, también perteneciente a Misión Abba. Muchos de ustedes le recordarán de los Retiros de Emaús. Durante esas tres noches en las cuales se celebrarán las Misiones, pido que se cancelen todos los eventos parroquiales. Es crítico que todos en la comunidad asistan a estos eventos llenos de inspiración en la vida de nuestra Parroquia de St. Louis. Les suplico que inviten alguien que ustedes conozcan o a cualquiera que ustedes sepan que esta fuera de contacto con la Iglesia o con nuestro Padre celestial. Este es un tiempo para el Discipulado y para Stewardship, si es que hay alguno. Todos necesitamos sentir los brazos amorosos de nuestro Señor a nuestro alrededor.
