3 1. Introducción 1.1 Descripción del anexo gramatical En este segundo anexo gramatical vamos a abordar los siguientes contenidos: Preguntar y expresar la edad y el origen. Presente simple afirmativo y negativo. Adverbios de frecuencia. Colocación del adjetivo. Preposiciones que indican tiempo. Acciones comunes de la vida diaria Días, meses, fechas y horas. 4 2. Secuencia de contenidos y actividades 2.1 Preguntar y expresar la edad y el origen La edad Para preguntar y expresar la edad se utiliza el verbo to be con el significado de tener. Para preguntar utilizamos la expresión How old+to be+sujeto: How old are you? Cuántos años tienes/ tiene usted? How old is he? Cuántos años tiene él? How old are they? Cuántos años tienen ellos? Respuestas: I am 25 years old. Tengo 25 años. Nunca podemos omitir el sujeto pero sí las palabras years old: He is 37 Tiene treinta y siete años. El origen Para preguntar el origen se dice: Where are you from? De dónde es usted? Respuesta: I m from Austria. Soy de Austria. Heinz is from Vienna. Heinz es de Viena. They are from Scotland. Son de Escocia. They are Scottish. Son escoceses. Fíjese que los países y nacionalidades se escriben siempre con mayúscula: My cousins are Welsh Mis primos son galeses. Página 4 de 23

6 2.2 El presente simple de los verbos Forma afirmativa Forma afirmativa I finish You finish He finishes She finishes It finishes We finish You finish They finish acabo acabas acaba acabamos acabáis acaban I finish work at eight thirty Acabo de trabajar a las 8:30 h. Fíjese en que el presente simple se forma con el sujeto + infinitivo del verbo (sin to): We speak German Hablamos alemán. Empleamos para todas las personas la misma forma excepto para la tercera, que acaba en s o -es: I finish, he finishes. Para saber lo que tenemos que añadir en la tercera persona conviene tener en cuenta las siguientes reglas: Los verbos acabados en o, ss, sh, ch, o x añaden es: He watches TV everyday. El ve la televisión todos los días. He does his homework in the afternoon. Hace los deberes por la tarde. Los verbos acabados en vocal + y añaden una s: Susan plays golf. Susana juega al golf. Peter stays at home. Pedro se queda en casa. Los verbos acabados en consoante + y cambian la y por i antes de añadir es: Carmen studies Medicine Carmen estudia medicina. Este tiempo verbal lo utilizamos para describir nuestras rutinas diarias, es decir, lo que hacemos de modo habitual, acciones repetidas o costumbres: Every morning I get up at 7.50 Me levanto a las 7:50 horas todas las mañanas. In Galice many shops close at lunchtime En Galicia, muchas tiendas cierran a la hora de comer. Página 6 de 23
7 Forma negativa Forma negativa I do not take (the bus) You do not take He does not take She does not take It does not take We do not take You do not take They do not take Yo no cojo (el autobús) Tú no coges Él/ella no coge Nosotros no cogemos Vosotros no cogéis Ellos/Ellas no cogen I don t take You don t take He doesn t take She doesn t take It doesn t take We don t take You don t take They don t take La forma negativa del presente simple se construye con el sujeto + auxiliar do en negativo + infinitivo: Don t (do not) para todas las personas excepto la tercera de singular: does not (doesn t). I don t play the violin. No toco el violín He doesn t play the guitar. Él no toca la guitarra. Secuencia de actividades S4. Complete la tabla con la tercera persona del singular del presente simple de estos verbos. 9 2.3 Adverbios de frecuencia How often...? Con qué frecuencia? Cuántas veces? 100 % = Always. Siempre. Usually. Normalmente. Often. Con frecuencia. Sometimes. A veces. Hardly ever. Casi nunca. 0 % = Never. Nunca. Otras expresiones que indican frecuencia: Every day/week/month/year Todos los días/semanas/meses/años. Once a week/ month/ year Una vez a la semana/al mes/al año. Twice a week/ month / year/ Dos veces a la semana/al mes/al año. Three times Tres veces Four times Cuatro veces Estos adverbios expresan la frecuencia con que se realiza una acción. Se colocan detrás de los verbos to be y can y delante de los demás verbos: I am never wrong. Nunca me equivoco. You are always right. Siempre tienes razón. I usually drink coffee but sometimes I drink tea. Normalmente bebo café pero a veces bebo té. En oraciones negativas se colocan entre el auxiliar negativo y el verbo principal: I don t usually get up late. No suelo levantarme tarde. Secuencia de actividades S6. Diga con qué frecuencia realiza usted las siguientes acciones completando las frases con adverbios de frecuencia. I work late. I speak English. I stay in bed on Saturday morning. Página 9 de 23
10 I go out on Saturday night. I am tired. I am cold. I have dinner at seven. I write stories. S7. Escriba la frecuencia con la que estas personas realizan estas acciones: Debbie is wrong. David is right. Nicholas takes photos. Rupert buys cheese on Saturdays. Arthur goes home for lunch. Mark watches football on Saturday night. [ ] Alice has breakfast late. Página 10 de 23
11 2.4 Colocación del adjetivo Los adjetivos en inglés son palabras invariables, es decir, no varían el género ni el número. Tienen la misma forma en masculino, femenino, singular y plural. Se colocan siempre delante del nombre al que se refieren: Big bathroom. Cuarto de baño grande. Big bathrooms. Cuarto de baños grandes. También se colocan después del verbo to be: The garden is small. El jardín es pequeño. Roy is lucky Roy tiene buena suerte. La palabra very (muy) se coloca delante de los adjetivos: A very old-fashioned kitchen. Una cocina muy vieja. Secuencia de actividades S8. Ordene estas palabras y forme las oraciones correspondientes: girl / the / hard-working / is is/ train /this / fast / a boy / that / very / is / intelligent is/ it / good / very / homework has / girlfriend / rich / Patrick / a Página 11 de 23
12 2.5 Preposiciones que indican tiempo: at, in, on, from At At seven el clock a las siete. At midnight a media noche. At night por la noche. At the weekend en el fin de semana. In In the the morning/afternoon/evening por la mañana/por la tarde. In May en mayo. In 2016 el año In spring en primavera. On On Wednesday el miércoles. On Saturday morning el sábado por la mañana. On my birthday en mi cumpleaños. On 21st May el veintiuno de mayo. From From Friday desde el viernes. From that time desde aquel tiempo. From six to eight de seis a ocho. Fíjese: Empleamos at con las horas y otras expresiones como night. Utilizamos on con los días de la semana y las fechas. No olvide que los días de la semana y los meses se escriben con mayúscula en inglés. Utilizamos in con los meses, con las estaciones del año, con los años y con las partes del día (excepto night). Las expresiones from... until o from... to indican un período de tiempo entre dos momentos determinados: I have lunch from two el clock until Como entre las dos y las dos y media. I work from five to eight. Trabajo desde las cinco hasta las ocho. Secuencia de actividades S9. Complete con las preposiciones at, in, on. [ ] half past seven I go to the gym. 13 3. Comprensión escrita Philip Walters is 34 years old. He is married and lives with his wife in Godalming, not very far from London. They have three children. They also have a pet rabbit. The family has breakfast together at 7.15 am. Then the children take the bus to school and Mr. and Mrs. Walters leave the house every morning at about am. Philip is a bank manager and his wife Sarah is a doctor. She is also 34. The children have lunch at school and Philip and Sarah have lunch at work. They get home at about 5.30 pm. Then, when possible, they have dinner together. Philip travels a lot so it is not always possible to have everyone together. At weekends they don t usually have breakfast until ten el clock.then they play tennis or go mountain- biking. They often go skiing during the winter months. Secuencia de actividades S10.
