Thousands of treatises and documents have been written over such great mystery, but no man can ever fully understand this great mystery since we cannot grasp how one God can be three persons. Even the Great Doctor of the Church St. Augustine understood that the Trinity is wisdom beyond his understanding; as he was walking by the shore trying to write a treatise that would do justice to the Mystery of the Trinity, a small boy, an angel, came up to him and told him that if he could put the entire ocean in the little hole he dug up on the beach then he could fit the Trinity into his brain. Seems a little difficult. We should rather just focus on one aspect of the Trinity and humbly accept that some things are just too beyond our understanding. We have just celebrated Pentecost, the Feast of the Coming of the Holy Spirit. However, we cannot celebrate the Holy Spirit without also celebrating the one who sends Him (Jesus) and the one who sends the sender (God the Father). Not a single person of the Holy Trinity does something, acts without also the other two persons acting. When you really think about it, everything in the life of Jesus was done with the Father s consent through the Grace of the Holy Spirit. Awesome...but what does that mean to me? Our mission as Christians is to make the Trinity present in this world, and how do we do that? Through the Family. Communion is what defines the Trinity. Communion comes from con-munus, meaning sharing the same office, the same labor. If a family shares in the same labors, that family will be a sign of unity and love to the people around them. What a sign it is for the classmates of your children if they see that they ask for permission for everything they do or to the parties they are invited to? Foe example. In the example above, it is not only the child that goes to the party but in a Christian Family, the whole family goes to the party with that child. There is a consensus in the family, which actually goes with that child. When your son is taking an exam, it is the whole family that takes an exam; the siblings pray for each other, the parents respect the child s study time, the mother prepares a big breakfast that day for him, etc. The problem of society is that it has become individualistic and therefore your problems are your problems; your joys are yours and nobody else rejoice with you. I have my own and I do not have time neither for your problems nor for your joys. There is a new Trinity in this world, Me, Myself and I. It is our mission to make present the Truth, and the Truth is Love and Unity, especially in the family. Let us pray on this Solemn Day, that God may give us the grace to share in His mission, which is the salvation of all men, by living our Faith in the family - truly in communion with one another according to God's grace.

4 Page 4 Trinity Sunday June 11, 2017 FIESTA DE LA SANTISIMA TRINIDAD Al final de este tiempo en que hemos seguido los misterios del Salvador y hemos recordado todo lo que el Dios Trino ha hecho por nosotros, nos detenemos para volvernos hacia Aquél de quien todo lo hemos recibido. En este sentido, la fiesta de la Santísima Trinidad debería ser la gran fiesta de acción de gracias al Padre, al Hijo y al Espíritu por todo lo que han hecho por nosotros. Ser cristiano significa creer y vivir que Dios es un Padre que nos ama, que todo lo ha hecho por nosotros y que jamás nos dejará. Que, por el amor que nos tiene, en Jesucristo "entregó a su Hijo único, para que no perezca ninguno de los que creen en él, sino que tengan vida eterna" ; que en Jesús resucitado nos ha abierto a una esperanza sin límites. Y, por el Espíritu, está siempre con nosotros, como compañero de camino, como Dios del amor y de la paz, para reafirmarnos en la comunión eclesial y construir junto con nosotros una humanidad nueva. Podemos ver con qué naturalidad habla san Pablo a los cristianos de Corinto de la gracia o salvación de Jesucristo, del amor del Padre y del don o comunión del Espíritu. Y las tres lecturas se limitan a insistirnos en el amor y la bondad de Dios. La Trinidad es misterio de amor y comunión. La Trinidad significa que nuestro Dios no es un Dios solitario, sino que en Dios hay calor familiar. Dios no es único a pesar de ser tres, sino que es único precisamente porque en él son tres que comparten todo lo que son, hasta llegar a realizar aquello que para las personas que se aman siempre será un sueño: sin dejar de ser ellos, ser una misma cosa. Porque Dios es amor y comunión, crea comunión allí donde se hace presente.
