3 Finance Council With the help of suggestions from the community, I asked the following five people to be our finance council and all have agreed. Two were members of the last Finance Council and three are new. They are: Richard Castillo Conrad Gonzalez Ted Henderson Maria del Rayo Rodriguez Helen Quintero The purpose of the Finance Council is to help the pastor with the financial administration of the parish. The members are chosen by the pastor for their financial skills. It is a three year assignment. Consejo de Finanzas Con la ayuda de sugerencias de la comunidad, le pedí a las siguientes cinco personas ser parte de nuestro Consejo de finanzas y todos están de acuerdo. Dos eran miembros del último Consejo de finanzas y tres son nuevos. The parish council is a consultative body to help the pastor in the running of the parish. It is not a legislative council. I have received quite a few suggestions on names for our parish council. I will contact the recommended parishioners and see if they are willing to run. If so, I will put their names in next week s bulletin to allow the community a chance to reflect on or speak with them before we have an oficial run-off. There is no set amount of members designated for a parish council, but I would suggest seven to nine as a good starting number. If the pastor feels that the parish council is lacking in representation for any group of people in the parish, he is entitled to add members to the council to achieve proportional representation. El consejo PARROQUIAL es elegido por el voto de la comunidad de la Iglesia. El consejo parroquial es el funcionamiento de la parroquia. No se trata de un consejo legislativo. Church Doors hardware The Company is having trouble locating the hardware necessary for these custom doors. Once they find it, they will begin the installation. Question on a festival A great deal of work goes into planning a two day festival. Some have suggested that we have a minor one day event in Spring and the larger festival in October. Murphy It is still a long time away, but I want to let you know in advance that my six year assignment as pastor of Holy Name Church ends in June. I will be receiving a new assignment at that time. I don t know yet where I will be re-assigned nor who will take my place at Holy Name. But another priest from my religious community

5 will certainly come to Holy Name, so our SVD community commitment to Holy Name Church stays firm. Pero otro sacerdote de mi comunidad religiosa sin duda vendrá a Holy Name, por lo que nuestro compromiso con la comunidad como SVD permanece firme. The question is, did they follow him? How about us? The psalm today says, If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
