George Washington School Readathon Readathon Fundraiser September 17 - October 15, 2015 The Readathon is our school s MAIN fundraiser and we appreciate your help.

We encourage friendly competition between students and classes and will track all class totals of minutes read weekly for 4 weeks.

Sponsor names and pledge amounts are written on the Readathon pledge form. Everyone can participate! Write down all minutes spent reading outside the classroom on the Readathon log.

1 George Washington School Readathon Readathon Fundraiser September 17 - October 15, 2015 The Readathon is our school s MAIN fundraiser and we appreciate your help. It is a fun way to motivate our children to read as well as raise funds for the school. We encourage friendly competition between students and classes and will track all class totals of minutes read weekly for 4 weeks. How it works Students find adult sponsors to pledge funds for reading everyday during the Readathon time frame. We suggest 30 minutes a day. Sponsor names and pledge amounts are written on the Readathon pledge form. Everyone can participate! Write down all minutes spent reading outside the classroom on the Readathon log. Minutes spent reading for homework count! (K and 1st grade students can include minutes adults read to them.) At the conclusion of the Readathon period, all minutes are totaled on each student's log. (It may be more convenient to collect funds at the time of the pledge.) Pledges can also be paid online via the school website. No pledge is too big or too small! When is the Readathon? Thursday, September 17, Thursday, October 15, 2015 All logs and pledges are due at school Friday, October 16, 2015 Winners will be announced November 9, 2015

2 Readathon Fundraiser Prizes Classroom Team Competition Prizes for fundraising will be cumulative Students will cut-out and send in their reading logs weekly and minutes read will be tracked. (Next year the class that wins the most minutes read will be able to take that trophy from that classroom!)
