2 Los idiomas son como alas, con dos se puede volar! Vamos a divertirnos mucho este año mientras aprendemos, hacemos amigos, y jugamos. Es un placer tener a sus hijos en nuestra clase. 5 8:35am - 2:50pm Seth Paine: Enfermedades: Si su hijo/a está enfermo/a no se puede venir a la escuela y enfermar a los demás. Hay que avisar a la escuela si tienen una enfermedad contagiosa. Tienen que estar libre de fiebre, vómito/diarrea sin medicina por 24 horas, o tomar los antibióticos por 24 horas, antes de regresar a la escuela. Ausencia: Si su hijo no va a estar en la escuela, hay que llamar a la oficina o a mi teléfono para avisarnos. Illness: If your child is sick they may not come to school and make others sick. You need to inform the school if your child has something contagious. They are required to be fever free, vomit/diarrhea-free without medicine for 24 hours, or on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to school. Absences: If your child will not be in school, please call the office (847) or my phone before the start of school to let us know. Ausencias y Enfermedades / Absences & Illnesses

6 Sus hijos tendrán una carpeta con tarea cada lunes, que hay que hacer y devolver para el viernes. Deben tener lápices, crayolas/marcadores, tijeras, y pegamento en un lugar especial para hacer la tarea en la casa. Tendrán una caja de libros para guardar sus libros de práctica. Hay que leerlos y escribir con quien los practican en la casa. Tienen que devolverlos con los nombres escritos para recibir un premio. Recomiendo que lean por 20 minutos cada día. Eso incluye que ellos leen y que alguien les lee. Guarden todos los libros en la caja para repasar durante el año. Your child will have a homework folder every Monday. They need to complete the work and return the folder on Friday. They should have pencils, crayons/markers, scissors and glue in a special place for doing homework at home. Your child will also have a book box to keep their take home books. They need to read them and write who they read them with. Return them to school with names to receive a prize. I recommend reading for 20 minutes every day. This includes them reading and being read to by someone. Please keep the books in the box to review throughout the year. Tarea / Homework

7 Tenemos un sistema del semáforo, para comportamiento en la clase. Todos empiezan con su nombre en la luz verde. Si se portan mal, reciben un aviso, si se portan mal otra vez, su nombre se mueve hasta amarillo, la tercera vez, se mueve hasta rojo. Para ofensas muy malas o graves, van al rojo inmediatamente. Hay consecuencias en la clase. Celebramos los que se portan super bien con la luz morada y con premios, notas buenas, y privilegios especiales. We have a stoplight behavior system in our class. Each child starts the day with their name on green. If they misbehave they get a warning, if they misbehave again, their name goes to yellow. If they misbehave a third time, their name goes to red. For very bad behavior they go to red immediately. There are consequences in the classroom. We celebrate great behavior with a purple light and with prizes, good news notes, and special privileges. 8 Almuerzo: Tienen que comprar el almuerzo para sus hijos en la oficina o en el internet, o mandar un almuerzo en una lonchera cada día. Si necesitan ayuda para proveer o comprar el almuerzo, hay que llenar el formulario en la oficina. Merienda: Tienen que mandar una merienda individual para su hijo/a. Es una merienda chiquita, no es el almuerzo. NO SE PERMITEN COMIDAS QUE CONTIENEN NUECES. Según las reglas escolares tiene que ser algo saludable, como la fruta, las pasas, las galletas saladas, las zanahorias, los pececitos, pretzels o cereal (no dulces). Cuando hace calor pueden traer agua, no jugo por favor. Lunch: Purchase lunch at the school office, or on the internet, or send lunch with your child in a lunchbox with their name clearly marked. If you are unable to pay for or provide lunch, please apply in the school office for our lunch program. Snack: Please send a snack every day for your child. This is a small snack (not a meal). SNACKS THAT CONTAIN PEANUTS OR NUTS ARE NOT ALLOWED. In accordance with district guidelines, snacks must be healthy, like fruit, raisins, crackers, carrots, goldfish crackers, pretzels, cereal (no sweets). You may send water on hot days, no juice please. Almuerzo y Merienda / Lunch & Snack

9 Rutinas: Por favor, revisa los papeles y devuelva la carpeta para la casa a la escuela todos los días. Sus hijos tienen que acostarse a una hora apropiada. Sugerimos las 8:00 8:30p.m. También es muy importante que coman el desayuno todos los días antes de la escuela. Lean todos los días! Transporte: Si su hijo no va a tomar el autobús después de la escuela por alguna razón, tienen que avisarnos con una nota por la mañana. Cumpleaños: Celebramos con canciones y La Estrella del Día. Para el cumpleaños de su hijo/a se puede mandar algo para compartir con la clase como lápices o autoadhesivos, no se permiten postres ni dulces. No es obligatorio hacer esto, solo si quisieran hacerlo. Routines: Please send the home folder to school every day. Please be sure your child goes to bed at an appropriate time; we suggest 8:00 8:30. It is also very important that they eat breakfast before school. Read every day! Transportation: If your child is not riding the bus home and someone is picking them up, a written note is required to go to the teacher in the morning. Birthdays: We celebrate with songs and the Star of the Day. If you wish, you may send stickers or pencils or something to share with the class for your child s special day.
