9 ACTIVIDADES PASEO BAJO LA TIERRA COMIDA: GASTRONOMÍA TRADICIONAL LA CASA DE LOS INSECTOS DESCRIPCIÓN Las cuevas representan para la cultura maya un lugar muy especial y simbólico en la vida y en la muerte. Nos adentramos en las entrañas de la tierra con cascos, linternas, arneses y cuerdas para hacer un recorrido inolvidable. Hay varias cuevas con distintos tipos de dificultad, se puede entrar caminando a la cueva más accesible o por medio de descenso en rappel al resto. El descenso en rappel es de un total de 15 metros. La comida es elaborada en la comunidad por mujeres que han tomado capacitación en manejo e higiene de alimentos. Los productos provienen de la misma comunidad, totalmente naturales y sanos. Se sirve agua de sabor elaborada con frutas de la comunidad y agua purificada. En todos los casos y horarios se ofrece un menú alternativo para vegetarianos. Se pide información sobre los comensales por si hay alérgicos a cualquier alimento o personas que practican religiones que restringen algunas comidas. Hace más de 40 años, la comunidad colecciona los insectos más atractivos de su entorno. A día de hoy cuenta con La casa de los Insectos, un pequeño museo donde se aprende sobre el ciclo de vida de estos seres que representan una importancia vital para el ecosistema. Los encargados de La casa preparan los insectos para su exhibición. SANTUARIO DEL MONO ARAÑA CONCIERTO DE MÚSICA MAYA Punta Laguna es conocida también como Santuario del Mono Araña y está dentro del Área Protegida de Flora y Fauna Otoch Ma ax Yetel Kooh (que en maya significa la casa del mono araña y el puma). En esta comunidad daremos un paseo guiado por la selva y con mucha seguridad veremos mono araña y mono aullador (saraguato). Disfrutaremos de un paisaje sin igual bañado por una laguna cristalina donde chapuzarnos. Campamento Hidalgo es una comunidad maya que ha conservado mucha historia y tradición en la elaboración de instrumentos mayas e interpretación musical. En un escenario sin igual, una concha acústica natural, podremos disfrutar de la música, la cultura y la naturaleza auténtica. Cada canción representa una leyenda maya que es narrada por los guías. Se prenden veladoras y se quema incienso para crear un ambiente mágico.

10 ACTIVITIES WALK UNDER THE EARTH LUNCH: TRADITIONAL MEAL THE INSECTS HOUSE SPIDER MONKEY SANCTUARY MAYAN MUSIC CONCERT DESCRIPTION For the Mayan culture, the caves represent a special and symbolic place in both life and death. We will go inside the bowels of the earth with helmets, headlights, harnesses and ropes for an unforgettable journey. There are various caves with different levels of difficulty, you can walk into the most accessible cave, or enter the rest by rappelling/abseiling. The rappelling/abseiling descent is a total of 15 meters. The meal is prepared in the community by women that have taken courses in food hygiene management. The ingredients come from the same community and are totally natural and healthy. They serve drinks flavored with fruits from the community and purified water. An alternative menu can be prepared for vegetarians in all cases during all meal times. Please also ask about the ingredients that are used if anyone has any allergies; or for people that practice religions that prohibit certain foods. Over 40 years ago, the community collected the most attractive insects in the surrounds. Today they have The Insects House, a small museum where you can learn about the lifecycle of these beings that represent an important part of the ecosystem. The people in charge of The Insects House are responsible for preparing the insects for exhibition. Punta Laguna/Point Lagoon is also known as the Spider Monkey Sanctuary, and is inside the Natural Protected Area Otoch Maax Yetel Kooh (that in Mayan means the house of the spider monkey and the puma). In this community we will go for a guided walk through the jungle and with safety we will see Spider Monkeys and Howler Monkeys (Saraguato). We will enjoy scenery without equal besides a crystal clear lagoon where we will bathe. Campamento Hidalgo/Hidalgo Camp is a Mayan community that has conserved much of its history and traditions in the crafting of Mayan instruments and musical performance. In an incomparable setting, a natural acoustic amphitheatre, we will be able to enjoy the music and culture in authentic natural surroundings. Each song represents a Mayan legend that is narrated by the guides. Candles are lit and incense is burned to create an incredible atmosphere.
