2 THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME 2 JUNE 26, 2016 As I am about to set out for some time off, I think about the reality that the Lord has given me wonderful work as a priest. Priests are called by the Lord to take on the yoke of ministry, much like Elisha who took on the mantle of Elijah. This also reminds us of Jesus who spoke of putting our hands to the plow and not looking back to what we left behind. During my vacation, I hope to spend some time not looking back, but looking forward to the prize ahead. In particular, I look forward to the plans that Jesus has for our parish community. Great things are ahead for us and the Lord is already sowing seeds for a rich harvest in our hearts. I also plan to look around to see what the Lord has accomplished so far in our ministry. Please keep me in prayer for safe travels and that my vacation may be a time of recuperation and recreation. Be assured of my prayers for all of you! Como estoy a punto de salir a un tiempo de descanso, pienso en la realidad de que el Señor me ha dado trabajo maravilloso como sacerdote. Los sacerdotes están llamados por el Señor para asumir el yugo del ministerio, al igual que Eliseo tomo el manto de Elías. July 9-10 and July 16 Prince of Peace is our Sister Parish along with Sagrado Corazon de Jesus in Santa Cruz del Quiche, Guatemala. They are very grateful for the incredibly important support we provide by praying for safe travel to Guatemala and then back home. The Guatemalan people have been devastated by years of civil war and persecution of Catholics. The missionaries help them rebuild, build relationships, share their faith, and learn about their culture. In addition to a commitment to pray at home, we will have some hours of Adoration in the Church. Please sign up for as many hours as you can.
