2 S OLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS 2 NOVEMBER 1, 2015 Prayer to Know One s Vocation Lord, my God and my loving Father, You have made me to know You, to love You, to ser e You, and thereby to find and to f lfill my deepest longings. I know that You are in all things and that ever path can lead me to You. But of them all, there is one especially by which You want me to come to You. Since I will do what You want of me, I pray You, send Your Holy Spirit to me: into my mind, to show me what You want of me; into my hear, to give me the deter ination to do it, and to do it with all my love, with all my mind, and with all of my st eng h right to the end. Jesus, I t st in You. Amen. Amén Pope Francis ~ Close of the Synod of the Family The Synod was not about settling all the issues having to do with the family but rather attempting to see them in the light of the Gospel and the Church s tradition and twothousand-year history, bringing the joy of hope without falling into a facile repetition of what is obvious or has already been said. Surely it was not about finding exhaustive solutions for all the difficulties and uncertainties which challenge and threaten the family, but rather about seeing these difficulties and uncertainties in the light of the Faith, carefully studying them and confronting them fearlessly, without burying our heads in the sand. It was about urging everyone to appreciate the importance of the institution of the family and of marriage between a man and a woman, based on unity and indissolubility, and valuing it as the fundamental basis of society and human life. It was about listening to and making heard the voices of the families and the Church s pastors, who came to Rome bearing on their shoulders the burdens and the hopes, the riches and the challenges of families throughout the world. It was about showing the vitality of the Catholic Church, which is not afraid to stir dulled consciences or to soil her hands with lively and frank discussions about the family. It was about trying to view and interpret realities, today s realities, through God s eyes, so as to kindle the flame of faith and enlighten people s hearts in times marked by discouragement, social, economic, and moral crisis, and growing pessimism... Blessed Paul VI expressed this eloquently: We can imagine, then, that each of our sins, our attempts to turn our back on God, kindles in Him a more intense flame of love, a desire to bring us back to Himself and to His saving plan God, in Christ, shows Himself to be infinitely good. He loves us, He seeks us out, He thinks of us, He knows us, He touches our hearts us and He waits for us. He will be so to say delighted on the day when we return and say: Lord, in Your goodness, forgive me. Thus our repentance becomes God s joy. Papa Francisco ~ Sinódo de Familia No significa haber concluido con todos los temas inherentes a la familia sino que ha tratado de iluminarlos con la luz del Evangelio, de la Tradición y de la historia milenaria de la Iglesia, infundiendo en ellos el gozo de la esperanza sin caer en la cómoda repetición de lo que es indiscutible o ya se ha dicho. Seguramente no significa que se hayan encontrado soluciones exhaustivas a todas las dificultades y dudas que desafían y amenazan a la familia, sino que se han puesto dichas dificultades y dudas a la luz de la fe, se han examinado atentamente, se han afrontado sin miedo y sin esconder la cabeza bajo tierra. Significa haber instado a todos a comprender la importancia de la institución de la familia y del matrimonio entre un hombre y una mujer, fundado sobre la unidad y la indisolubilidad, y apreciarla como la base fundamental de la sociedad y de la vida humana. Significa haber escuchado y hecho escuchar las voces de las familias y de los pastores de la Iglesia que han venido a Roma de todas partes del mundo trayendo sobre sus hombros las cargas y las esperanzas, la riqueza y los desafíos de las familias. Significa haber dado prueba de la vivacidad de la Iglesia católica, que no tiene miedo de sacudir las conciencias anestesiadas o de ensuciarse las manos discutiendo animadamente y con franqueza sobre la familia. Significa haber tratado de ver y leer la realidad o, mejor dicho, las realidades de hoy con los ojos de Dios, para encender e iluminar con la llama de la fe los corazones de los hombres, en un momento histórico de desaliento y de crisis social, económica, moral y de predominio de la negatividad... El beato Pablo VI decía con espléndidas palabras: Podemos pensar que nuestro pecado o alejamiento de Dios enciende en el una llama de amor más intenso, un deseo de devolvernos y reinsertarnos en su plan de salvación En Cristo, Dios se revela infinitamente bueno Él nos ama, busca, piensa, conoce, inspira y espera. Él será feliz si puede decirse así el día en que nosotros queramos regresar y decir: Señor, en tu bondad, perdóname. He aquí, pues, que nuestro arrepentimiento se convierte en la alegría de Dios. (

3 S OLEMNIDAD DE TODOS LOS SANTOS 3 1 DE NOVIEMBRE DEL 2015 All Saints Day, November 1 Today we celebrate the Church Triumphant as a great cloud of witnesses praying for us to make it Home. We are united with them in a special way during every Mass as we all worship God together, along with the angels. Día de Todos los Santos, Noviembre 1 Celebramos la Iglesia Triunfante el 1 de noviembre como una gran nube de testigos orando por nosotros para llegar a casa. Mark 5: Come, lift up your heart and soul to Christ and allow Him to pour out His mercy and grace for healing. He longs to heal our souls so that we can know His peace and love and grow closer to Him, our families, and all those around us. Anointing of the Sick during Mass. Father will pray over individuals after Mass. All Souls Day November 2 we pray for our loved ones still on the journey between earth and Heaven, trusting that Christ is washing them in His own Precious Blood. We will have a book of remembrance where we will enter the names of your loved ones from the All Souls envelopes turned in. A donation is not required. It will be placed near the altar during the month of November as they remain in our hearts and prayers. Vete tranquila y curada ya de tu enfermedad. Marcos 5: Ven, levante su corazón y el alma a Cristo y permita que se derrame Su misericordia y gracia para ser sanado.
