2 Start UP Welcome Hi! It s great to see you again! It s time to learn how to make a timeline to talk about past events of our lives in a sequential manner. Let s begin! 2 /9

3 Warm up Hi Linda! I need your help. I need to make a biography for school, but I don t know how to do It. Can you help me, please? Sure! Well, I just saw my dad in the local news introducing a famous doctor. Patch Adams! I really liked his movie; he is a very accomplished man. We can use his short biography to make a timeline. Oh! Ok. That sounds like a good idea! Ok. Now, what we need is to collect all the important events in Patch s Life. I know that he was born during world war II. Then, he moved back from Germany to the U.S., when his dad died, he was hospitalized. Yes, we need to take into account all those important events, but we need to Right! Then, we can create a timeline, so you can present it at school. Oh, cool! That sounds really good. 3 /9

4 Born: Patch Adams was born May 28th in Washington. Dad died: Dad died. Patch was 16 years old. Moved back to USA: Patch and his family moved back from Germany to the USA and he was enrolled in an all-white school. Moved back to USA: Patch and his family moved back from Germany to the USA to the USA and he was enrolled in an allwhite school. Health issues: He was hospitalized three times for suicidal thoughts. Love Revolution began: He graduated from high school, read Georgetown University: He took a pre-medical coursework at Georgetown University. 1975: Graduated as a doctor: Graduated from the Medical College of Virginia. Gesundheit Institute: The Gesundheit was founded with a group of doctors. It lasted for 12 years. Marriage: He married Linda and had two sons: Atomic and Lars. 1985: Clowning in Europe: He started to clown in Europe with a group 1997: Divorced: He divorced Linda Edquist. 1998: Patch Adams, the movie, was released. 2011: Health care building: hospital with a health system designed by him Ok, now we can create the timeline. I don t know if it is better to use a piece of software to create it. It is easier with software, but you can do it without it. Let s use special software to create it. 4 /9

Ok, the first thing you need to do when creating a timeline is to think about the people, place or event you are going to describe. After that, organize the information in a sequential manner. Remember to use past tenses to describe the events Patch Adams was born May 28th in Washington. His dad died. Patch was 16 years old. He was hospitalized three times for suicidal thoughts.
