2 DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY 2 APRIL 3, 2016 During this Year of Mercy, it is most appropriate to remember the Divine Mercy of Jesus Christ as revealed through Saint Faustina. One thing we can reflect on is the prayer that Jesus asked us to pray, Jesus, I trust in you. Jesus wants this prayer to give us the courage to always approach him, no matter how great our sins. Sometimes the only thing that lifts us up and gives us courage to persevere in hope is the image of Jesus approaching us, with white and red rays shining out of his side, enveloping us with healing and sanctifying grace. This message of mercy is also meant to shine through us in our merciful works for others. Sometimes the only thing that lifts others up and gives them courage to persevere is the image of a person who trusts in Jesus and allows that trust to bear fruit in the mercy and love they show to them. This Sunday, we ask for the gift of two things: Mercy for us and mercy through us.
