5 Access Requirements Year 10 & 11 IGCSEs Exams Year 12 British System AS Levels Year 12 Spanish System Bachillerato Entry into Year 12 is not automatic. It will depend on pupils achieving the required number of IGCSEs and, where appropriate, a pass in both validation subjects. - College Assessment Policy

6 Access Requirements The British System Year 10 & 11 IGCSEs Year 12 British System AS Levels Each pupil must achieve at least 5 [five] IGCSE pass grades between A*-C, excluding English as a Second Language and Spanish as a Foreign Language. It is expected that pupils achieve at least a B grade at IGCSE in each subject they intend to choose at AS/A-Level. Exams - College Assessment Policy

11 AS/A Levels All students in the current Y13 do AS/A Levels Typically 80% of our students go to University outside of Spain (the vast majority to the UK) Typically the best British Universities require 3 A-Levels to access They are concerned more with quality, not quantity of qualifications For example, it is far preferable to have 3 A-Levels at AAA than 5 A-Levels at BBBBB

The Spanish Government is currently consulting on how to make admission to Spanish Universities easier These changes are likely to lead to Spanish Universities establishing their own entry requirements (such as interviews, entrance tests, and external exams etc.) These changes reflect a shift towards the British model of University Access A-Levels become the only in-school requirement our students need to enter a Spanish University
