PRAYER CAMPAIGN FOR CHURCH VOCATIONS It is of great importance that the seeds of future vocations for Church ministries be sown and nurtured in Catholic homes and parishes. One way is through a prayer campaign for Church vocations. A Prayer Campaign for Church Vocations is a simple way of keeping before the minds of all Catholic families of the parish the need for vocations, both for the diocesan and universal Church. The principal part of this campaign is a daily prayer centered around a religious image (crucifix, chalice or an image of the Blessed Mother), as the symbol of the vocational prayer campaign. Each week the image is entrusted to a family or individual, who on accepting the image promises to pray during the week for Church vocations : priests, deacons, religious and lay ministers, both for the diocese and the universal Church. This prayer may be said before the principal meal of each day or at a time when the family comes together for prayer or conversation. The family may want to choose one day of the week to invite relatives, friends or neighbors to pray and dialogue together. The following week the vocational religious image and the vocational prayer pamphlet is entrusted to another family or individual during the Sunday Mass before the final blessing. The family or individual that receives the religious image should be seated near the altar and when the priest motions they approach the altar. If it is a parish group, the image and prayer booklet may be given at the end of the meeting. CAMPAÑA DE ORACION PARA VOCACIONES DE ECLESIALES Es muy importante que las semillas de futuras vocaciones para ministerios en la Iglesia sean sembradas y nutridas en las familias y parroquias. Una forma es a través de una campaña de oración. La Campaña de Oración por las Vocaciones es una forma muy sencilla de tener presente en todas las familias católicas de la parroquia la necesidad de vocaciones para la Iglesia diocesana y universal. La parte principal de esta campaña es una oración alrededor de una imagen religiosa (crucifijo o imagen de la Virgen María) como símbolo de la campaña vocacional. Cada semana se entrega la imagen a una familia o individuo, que al aceptar la imagen se compromete durante la semana a rezar por vocaciones: sacerdotes, diáconos, religiosos y ministros laicos, para la Iglesia diocesana y universal. La oración por las vocaciones se puede decir antes de la comida principal de cada día, o en un momento en que la familia acostumbra a orar juntos. La familia podría escoger un día de semana para inviter a parientes y vecinos para rezar y dialogar juntos. La próxima semana se entrega la imagen vocacional y el libro de oraciones a otra familia o individuo durante la misa dominical antes de la bendición final. La familia o individuo que recibe la imagen vocacional debe estar sentada cerca del altar y cuando el sacerdote lo indique se ponen de pie y van hacia el altar.
