The exhibition will remain open in the Cuerpo de Guardia room in the fortress of Santa Barbara for a year. It makes a journey from ancient times to the present, with the presence of Iberian, Roman, medieval, pirate attacks, defense towers and the role of the citadel. It is involved in immune functions, growth and regeneration of organs and tissues, in learning and memory consolidation and other cognitive processes, so that an inadequate quantity or quality of sleep will have a negative impact on our health. El patrón de sueño de un recién nacido nada tiene que ver con el de un niño de 5 años o el de un adulto. Esto es debido a la inmadurez que presentan los centros nerviosos que se encargan de regular el ciclo vigilia-sueño en el recién nacido. En el Núcleo Supraquiasmático del Hipotálamo se encuentra el reloj biológico interno, encargado de regular el ciclo vigiliasueño, lo que se conoce como ritmo circadiano (cerca de un día). Este reloj biológico, a través de señales externas (la luz solar es el sincronizador más potente) es el que nos marca los periodos de vigilia y de sueño y la duración de los mismos, con una ritmicidad cercana a las 24 horas. The sleep pattern of a newborn has nothing to do with a 5 year old or an adult. This is due to the immaturity of the nerve centers that are responsible for regulating the sleep-wake cycle in the newborn. In the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus of the hypothalamus is the internal biological clock which is responsible for regulating the sleepwake cycle, known as circadian rhythm (about a day). This biological clock through external signals (sunlight is the most powerful synchronizer) indicates us the periods of wakefulness and sleep and the duration of those, with a rhythmicity close to 24 hours

Tiene un patrón de sueño irregular, durmiendo de 16 a 20 horas al día en períodos de 2,5 a 4 horas separados por intervalos de 1 a 2 horas de vigilia. Frecuentemente el patrón de sueño está asociado a los horarios de las comidas, por lo que sus ciclos suelen ser dormir-cambio de pañal- alimentarse y vuelta a empezar. The newborn has an irregular sleep pattern, sleeping hours a day in periods of 2.5 to 4 hours separated by intervals of 1-2 hours of wakefulness. Often sleep pattern is associated with mealtimes. Therefore, their cycles are usually sleep - diaper change - feeding time and back again. 11 PARA AYUDAR A NUESTRO BEBÉ A ESTABLECER EL RITMO CIRCADIANO Y CONSEGUIR UN SUEÑO MÁS EFICIENTE ES IMPORTANTE QUE LE MARQUEMOS UNAS RUTINAS QUE SIGAMOS DÍA A DÍA, DE COMIDAS, DE ACTIVIDAD Y DE SUEÑO: 1. Establecer una rutina en lo que a horarios se refiere, tanto de acostarse como de levantarse, de las siestas y de las horas de alimentarlo. 2. Crea unas rutinas asociadas al sueño: un baño relajado, leer un cuento en la cama 3. Antes de dormir evita juegos o actividades estimulantes como la televisión, consolas, etc. TO HELP YOUR BABY TO ESTABLISH THE CIRCADIAN RHYTHM AND GET A MORE EFFICIENT SLEEP, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU ESTABLISH SOME ROUTINES TO FOLLOW DAY BY DAY IN MEALS, ACTIVITY AND SLEEP: 1. Establish a routine as far as times are concerned, both bedtime and to get up, naps and hours of feeding. 2. Create routines associated with sleep: a relaxing bath, read a bedtime story Before sleeping avoid stimulating activities such as games or television, consoles, etc. 4. Es importante que mantengamos la habitación en la que duerme el bebé en condiciones óptimas de temperatura, de ruido y de oscuridad. 5. La habitación debe ser un sitio de relajación y para el sueño, hacerla un lugar confortable y agradable para el niño, evitándola como castigo. 6. Los niños deben aprender a dormirse por sí mismos. Ten en cuenta que los niños se despiertan por la noche. Lo normal es que vuelvan a dormirse solitos y su sueño continúe. El problema viene cuando el niño se ha acostumbrado a dormirse de la manita de papá o de mamá, pues para volver a dormirse reclamará vuestra presencia y así será cada vez que se despierte, lo que alterará el sueño del niño y el vuestro. 7. Que la hora de acostar a tu hijo sea un momento placentero para él: hazlo sin prisas, transmítele seguridad, conviértelo en un momento especial, siempre con una actitud de calma y relajación. Así conseguirás que esté deseando que llegue este momento y evitarás que no quiera acostarse. 4. Cuando salí de la consulta en el mismo mostrador me dieron cita para fisioterapia y ese mismo jueves tuve mi primera sesión. Cuando llegue a fisioterapia, el responsable me llevó a su despacho y me hizo un estudio en base al informe traumatológico y mis características físicas, e inmediatamente después comencé con el tratamiento. La Directora de la UPUA, Doña Concha Bru, asistió al acto y resaltó la importancia de llevar a cabo este tipo de formación en el campo de la salud puesto que cumple una doble función. Por una parte formar en aspectos interesantes para el alumnado y por otra, aplicar estos conocimientos a la vida cotidiana. Bru agradeció al centro y, en especial, a la Dirección de Enfermería su colaboración para desarrollar estos cursos. Además, los profesionales de la unidad ayudan a aliviar, en la medida de lo posible, el miedo a enfrentarse a esta nueva forma de vida. La unidad ha desarrollado un procedimiento de trabajo donde se desarrolla cada día una actividad educativa específica y se incluye a la familia en dicha educación para la salud. Un seguimiento diario siempre por el mismo personal: La Unidad de Curas aporta a los cuidados de enfermería un seguimiento diario y personalizado de los pacientes, sea cual sea el motivo de su ingreso en la Unidad de Hospitalización. También realizan el seguimiento de forma ambulatoria por los mismos profesionales hasta el alta definitiva.
