Esta obra busca y recrea el ballet clásico desde una óptica de ruptura y burlesque, usa la música de Minkus y has a las bailarinas en zapatillas de punta rozando lo circense y con citas explicitas de la coreografía canónica de Marius Petipa. Seguidillas y fandangos, castañuelas y el esquema de los toreros clásicos se ligaron al hip-hop y al claqué en una suerte de ensalada refrescante y briosa. El Quijote se mantiene vivo como gran metáfora, y está presente en una surreal búsqueda de imágenes, desde los molinos a un Sancho Panza tierno y gestual. Como siempre en Montalvo, el ilusionismo del vídeo arte hacen de la atmósfera un circo delirante con abanicos y taconeo incluidos. Lo primero hoy día 6 el estreno mundial de un nuevo Peter Brook, Lo spopolatore (de Samuel Beckett) con la actriz alemana Miriam Goldschmidt, cuya residencia de gestación se ha producido en el teatro Mercadante napolitano; el dia 7 se estrena Spam, cuadro multifacetico ideado y dirigido por Lorenzo Gleijeses y Rafael Spregelburg. El Quijote se mantiene vivo Las citas con la danza tienen su eje en Precipitations, del napolitano como gran metáfora, y está Paco Décina que vuelve cual hijo prodigo los dias 15 y 16 al estupendo espacio monumental del Museo Nacional Ferroviario de presente en una surreal Pietrasarta. Los mismos días el brasileño Ismael Ivo dirige a Les búsqueda de imágenes, danseurs napolitains en Mishima: El jardin de los suenos perdidos desde los molinos a un donde figura como invitado el bailarin Khai Ngoc Vu. Cierra el festival Sancho Panza tierno y del 21 al 23 la companía israelita Vertigo Dance con la obra Vertigo 20, sobre música original de Ran Bagno y con coreografía de Noa gestual Wertheim.

Пять недель репетиций, три дня показа в набитом до отказа зале театра San Ferdinando публика принимает инсценировку восторженно, к маэстро выстраивается очередь благодарных зрителей. Скоро спектакль отправится на гастроли по Италии, остается пожелать ему доехать до России. Театр San Ferdinando место необычное (хотя есть ли в Италии обычные?): в XVIII веке он торжественно открылся оперой Чимарозы и был довольно популярной площадкой, несколько раз перестраивался, во время Второй мировой был полностью разрушен. Кончаловский выбрал «Укрощение строптивой» что же еще показать итальянцам, как не их самих, тем более в жанре комедии дель арте, чьи традиции развивались как раз здесь, в Неаполе. О своем подходе к пьесе Кончаловский говорит: «Это мир Шекспира, в интерпретации моей. Она может быть довольно живая, может быть современная или несовременная. Но она не может быть связана с таким понятием, как, например, актуальность». И продолжает: «Комедия это риск. Ведь смех бывает разный бывает смех снятых штанов, бывает смех от того, что люди что-то узнали, бывает смех благодарный, за любовь за любовь артистов к своим персонажам. Для этого режиссер и существует найти с артистами, за что они могут любить своих персонажей. И если у артиста получается передать свою любовь к персонажу, зрители очень благодарны за то, что он поделился любовью. Поэтому в комедии люди смеются не зло. В сатирической да, в фарсе или, скажем, у Брехта. А у Шекспира люди смеются так, как смеются, скажем, у Феллини. У него нет плохих персонажей, он всех любит, как Бог». Действие пьесы Кончаловский перенес в первую половину XX века; его герои веселы и беззаботны, они, кажется, еще не знают о Муссолини и наслаждаются всеми прелестями dolce vita, они по-итальянски несдержанны, жестикулируют и, конечно, вопят друг на друга, но тут же обнимаются. В сценографии Кончаловский ориентировался на итальянского сюрреалиста Джорджо де Кирико, его изображения итальянских площадей, подправленные видеохудожником (например, появляется рука и с грохотом передвигает дома), собственно, и есть основная декорация. И, конечно, в традициях театра Кончаловского гримерные столики и кронштейны с костюмами: артисты, даже те, которые появятся только в финале, все время на сцене, помогают переодеваться коллегам или же просто наблюдают. Кончаловский посмотрел сотню актеров и наверняка искал (кроме профессионализма, конечно) фактуру: Баптиста вылитый Сальвадор Дали (с такими же закрученными вверх тонкими усами), Гортензио воплощение военной стати, подчеркнутой грубым, словно выточенным из камня лицом с выдающимся подбородком, что каждый раз заставляет зал хохотать, когда тот попадает в нелепые ситуации, у Люценцио булькающий смех (и, кажется, он только и делает, что хохочет, когда не маневрирует по направлению к Бьянке). Старикашка Гремио до того тугодум, что то и дело замирает на полуслове, так что собеседник вынужден постучать по его котелку, чтоб тот очнулся. Бьянка милашка, Катарина (замечательная Маша Музи) словно лицо с открытки, что бережно хранят поклонники известных актрис. Parece como si el Fondo Monetario Internacional, el Banco Mundial y la Comisión Europea (la Troika) hubieran pasado arrasando con la tijera de los ajustes por el último montaje del legendario director de escena británico Peter Brook, 'Lo Spopolatore', cuyo estreno mundial acogió este jueves el Teatro Festival Italia de Nápoles. El resultado de la adaptación de Brook del cuento que Beckett escribió en francés en 1966 y tradujo al inglés en 1971 con el título 'The lost ones' (Los perdidos) es un teatro tan reducido al hueso, tan parco, tan "esencial", según definición del propio Brook, que podría interpretarse como la encarnación misma de los tiempos de recesión y simplificación que vivimos, donde a fuerza de recortar medios materiales y humanos en todas partes, unos superfluos y otros esenciales, la imaginación ha quedado desnuda y sola en el páramo, a expensas de lo que el cerebro del espectador sea capaz de inventar con ella. Pero, dado que Peter Brook tenía a su disposición los medios para haber hecho el montaje que quisiera, su minimalismo, en el que viene profundizando en las últimas décadas, no ha sido una elección forzada por la pura necesidad de esos amantes del teatro que no tienen un duro, sino, como él ha declarado, un experimento teatral de voluntaria desnudez escenográfica. No hacen falta artificios, despojemos el espectáculo de sus oropeles y centrémonos en las voces que hay debajo, es la idea que subyace en la propuesta del dramaturgo, que a sus 88 años, ya de retirada, asistió anoche al estreno discretamente sentado en primera fila y se marchó antes de que el público saliese. La historia de Beckett que Brook ha llevado a escena con la colaboración de su pareja, Marie-Hélène Estienne, y con su actriz predilecta, la veterana alemana Miriam Goldschimdt, leyendo en francés (con subtítulos en italiano), fue recibida con fríos aplausos de cortesía por el público napolitano. Luego, en la calle, muchos críticos de teatro italianos cargaron contra el montaje y su adaptador, lamentándose de que nadie hubiera silbado. Para ellos, tanta austeridad escénica, que deja el inquietante texto de Beckett colgado en el aire para que cada uno se imagine a esos desgraciados personajes perdidos en un agujero sin luz (la humanidad), era demasiada e innecesaria. En una ciudad de tanta tradición teatral como Nápoles, cuna de la 'commedia dell'arte', pero tan barroca, vital y exuberante, el montaje al cero de Brook choca por contraste aún más. El director e investigador escénico, que ha residido en Nápoles durante el último mes para cumplir el encargo del certamen, había avisado ya sin embargo de sus intenciones, cuando en un encuentro con universitarios de la facultad de Suor Orsola Benincasa dijo que el suyo sería "un Beckett esencial"porque "el teatro es sugerencia; si muestras demasiado, no ves nada". La historia de 'Lo Spopolatore' leída por Goldschmidt es Beckett puro, sombrío y lúcido: en un cilindro-túnel de 16 metros de diámetro por otros tantos de alto viven doscientas personas de todas las edades cuya única existencia consiste en subir y bajar por unas escaleras a unos nichos en la oscuridad y discutir si fuera de ese agujero que los deja ciegos hay una luz, es decir, otra vida, una salida a su realidad. La descripción de este submundo recuerda, por su mecanismo para revelar la extrañeza de la vida cotidiana, a aquellos cuentos de Cortázar como el de las 'Instrucciones para subir una escalera', sólo que el humor del argentino se vuelve negrísimo humor negro en el premio Nobel irlandés, y nadie se ríe, bien sea porque no lo comprenden o bien porque esos pobladores del túnel sin salida nos recuerdan demasiado a nosotros. "Los políticos, los economistas y los filósofos, todos, creen tener un secreto para escapar", ha dicho Brook. Programa de estreno El Napoli Teatro Festival Italia presenta este viernes en el Teatro Nuovo otro estreno mundial que sirve de contrapunto a Beckett/Brook. Se trata de la nueva obra del popular dramaturgo argentino Rafael Spregelburd, 'Spam', en un proyecto con el actor Lorenzo Gleijeses, una comedia de "intriga internacional" sobre un profesor universitario inspirado en el ex primer ministro italiano Mario Monti que pierde la memoria e intenta recuperar su identidad por los rastros que ha dejado en su ordenador personal. En el resto del festival, hasta el 24 de junio, destacan las obras del director de cine ruso Andrei Konchalovski, guionista de dos películas de Andrei Tarkovski, que lleva a escena la comedia de Shakespeare 'La fierecilla domada'; otro Shakespeare, 'Antonio y Cleopatra', adaptado por el director de teatro y también del festival, Luca de Fusco; un espectáculo de danza del coreógrafo Ismael Ivo, 'Mishima, The Garden of Forbidden Dreams', o la 'Desdémona' que ha escrito la novelista y premio Nobel estadounidense Toni Morrison, dirigida por Peter Sellars con la cantante maliense Rokia Traoré de protagonista. La cita, que pese a los recortes de presupuesto resiste la crisis alcanzando su sexta edición, ofrece además un programa paralelo con compañías emergentes, el E45 Napoli Fringe Festival, y aprovecha como escenario lugares fascinantes y poco conocidos de Nápoles: este año, por ejemplo, los trenes del Museo Nacional Ferroviario de Pietrarsa o el Túnel Borbónico, con la danza de 'In.Corpo.Reo' de Francesco Cololeo. El túnel lo cavaron griegos y romanos en la roca volcánica como parte del intrincado sistema hidráulico de la urbe, con cisternas y acueductos subterráneos, y luego se usó en tiempos del reinado español como vía de escape (estaba conectado con el Palacio Real). En la Segunda Guerra Mundial sirvió de refugio durante los bombardeos aéreos y, el resto del tiempo, como escondrijo de contrabandistas y vertedero, hasta su recuperación. The festival will also host four dance performances: in addition to Montalvo s curtain raiser, audiences will also have a chance see the return of the Israeli Vertigo Dance Company, which this year will be celebrating 20 years in showbiz with Vertigo 20; the festival also marks another return for Paco Dècina, with Précipitations and finally Mishima, choreographed by Brazilian choreographer Ismael Ivo. The old carriages will act as an unusual backdrop to performances, romanticized sagas and dramas including Il Maestro di Cappella dei Mendicanti by Mariano Bauduin, Polvere ritorneremo by Neapolitan playwright Claudio Buono and Nata sotto una pianta di datteri directed by Gigi Di Luca. Conversely, the single-act text by Eduardo De Filippo Sik Sik, the magical maker will see a collaboration with the Benevento Città Spettacolo. The 2013 edition of the Festival will end with Arrevuoto-Viviani involving the participation of adolescent Roma and Neapolitans in a work inspired by Viviani s Zingari (Gypsies). Pietra trarsa rsa Rail ilway Mus eum IN THE WORDS OF LUCA DE FUSCO, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF FESTIVAL 2013 A vast international showcase for theatre and dance: direction by Sellars and Martinelli and choreographies by Montalvo and Wertheim are an example of the best of the contemporary scene. Neapolitans, tourists and theatre lovers can enjoy outstanding performances that have come to Italy following their enormous international success. Not only international greats but also workshops of theatrical art: the performances by Brook, Arias, Konchalovskij, Ivo and myself originated in Naples and will be presented here as world premieres and the public will have a chance to follow their evolution at open rehearsals. I did not want Naples to act merely as a backdrop to the Festival but rather as one of the themes of the event itself. This is not only a beautiful city like Avignone or Edinburgh but a theatre capital. It is therefore right that the Festival increasingly serves as a place of theatrical production. A choice based not only on theatrical reasons but also on a cultural policy: increasing the number of performances produced means giving more work to actors and technicians, increasing the number of creations means increasing the number of world premieres capable of attracting the attention of the media and tourists alike. MAY OF MONUMENTS The Maggio dei Monumenti or May of Monuments festival which, for five weekends, has unveiled the city s hidden treasures and masterpieces, will end on 2 June. For the duration of the festival, places normally closed to the public have been made accessible to all those wishing to visit them, thus rendering the city an open-air museum featuring unusual itineraries of extraordinary beauty and artistic value. The event is sponsored by the Council for Tourism and the City of Naples which, to mark the occasion, has opened a number of never-seen-before venues: more than one hundred courtyards, cloisters and sacristies, both public and private. The rich and diverse events calendar will extend into the first weekend of June with guided tours, concerts, performances, shows, art installations and exhibitions. From the old centre to the Borgo dei Vergini (Quarter of the Virgins) right up to Sanità; from Forcella to Chiaia passing through Posillipo up to the Vomero hill, with the cloisters and gardens of the Certosa di San Martino and the Duca di Martina Museum. And then again, walks that will allow visitors to ascend the historic Pedamentina stairway connecting San Martino to Montesanto, continuing onwards to Petraio as far as Chiaia, in a bid to offer all those visiting Naples a breathtaking view over the city. This event has given sightseers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore cloisters shrouded in mystery and hidden from public view for centuries, taking them in discovery of some of the city s best-kept secrets including the convent of Santa Maria Regina Coeli or that of the Clarisse Nuns or courtyards that have been closed for almost a decade such as that of Santa Maria delle Grazie or San Giovanni Battista delle Monache. Altro che triste cavaliere errante! Questo Don Chisciotte è allegro e divertente, e viaggia nella metropolitana di Parigi dove incontra la cultura urbana con ballerini hip hop e di breakdance. E danza con loro. Il celebre paladino del romanzo di Cervantes, nella versione del coreografo francese José Montalvo, è un personaggio strambo, pieno di vitalità. La scrittura coreografica di questo burlesco Don Quichotte du Trocadéro (che aprirà il 4 giugno al Teatro San Carlo, la sesta edizione del festival internazionale), prende spunto dal balletto accademico di Marius Petipa e mette a confronto la grammatica del gesto della commedia dell arte con le pratiche fisiche della danza contemporanea. I tredici scatenati artisti spaziano dalla danza classica a quella contemporanea, da quella africana al flamenco, al circo e al teatro; interagiscono con enormi proiezioni video e sarà difficile per lo spettatore capire cosa è reale e cosa virtuale riproducenti scorci del mondo urbano con scale mobili e cartelloni pubblicitari che prendono vita.
