1 1 de 12 Introduction En este tema 3 del Bloque IV vamos a trabajar otro interrogativo How...? de notsogoodphotography Que nos va a servir para preguntar por el modo en que queremos movernos (en el caso de nuestro ejemplo de amigos que quieren hacer un viaje) o por la manera en que algo ocurre, cómo se encuentra o cómo es. Para expresar el modo en que algo se lleva a cabo tenemos, una vez más, que hacer uso de preposiciones y expresiones y, además tendremos que hacer uso de vocabulario que seguramente conoces aunque no seas muy consciente de ello. Además en este tema vamos a entrar en contacto con algunos adjetivos y pronombres indefinidos que nos van a servir para cuantificar, sin exactitud, la cantidad de personas, cosas o materias que podemos encontrar en cualquier lugar. También estudiaremos la expresión impersonal "Hay..."

Travel Agent: How do you want to travel? Do you want to go by plane? Or do you prefer to travel by train or by ship, or perhaps by bus...? YOU: Oh, yes, we want to travel by plane. We haven't got much time! But... is it very expensive? Travel Agent: Hummm... No, not very expensive! It is 300 Є per person. YOU: It is not very expensive but... Actividad 1.- Comprobemos lo que has comprendido del Texto Recuerda! Responde con frases completas La estructura de la oración simple afirmativa es: Sujeto + verbo + complementos He is my friend Peter We have a book La de la oración interrogativa con los verbos To Be o To Have es: Be/Have + sujeto + complementos +? Is he your friend? Have you got a book? Las interrogativas con otros verbos: Do (para todas las personas menos la 3ª del singular que es DOES) + sujeto + infinitivo del verbo principal + complementos +? Do you want to go to London? Does he want to go to London?

4 4 de 12 There is/are There is... / There are... A... / An... / Some... There isn't... / There aren't... A... / An... / Any... Is there... / Are there... A... / An... / Any...? HAY... / NO HAY... / HAY...? Si no has estudiado todavía los usos de la forma impersonal "Hay" en inglés, lee las oraciones que te ofrecemos y trata de adivinar cuándo usamos "There is" y cuándo "There are". Si ya lo has hecho (si lo has estudiado en el link de la primera lectura de este Tema 3), estas frases te servirán de ejemplos para repaso. There is a book (nombre contable en singular) on the table. There are five men (nombre contable en plural) in the street. There is some coffee (nombre no contable con un cuantificador indefinido)in the cup. There isn't any (esto es lo realmente importante cambias en al hacer la transformación negativa) coffee There is a cup (nombre contable singular - lo que contenga la taza importa menos)of coffee on the table. There are three cups (nombre contable plural - lo que contenga la taza importa menos) of coffee on the table. There is an apple (nombre contable en singular) in that basket There are three pencils (nombre contable en plural) in the pencil case. There is some milk in the fridge There are three bottles on milk in the fridge There is a bottle of milk in the fridge Completa las oraciones con la forma adecuada: There is / There are. Escribe solo una palabra en cada espacio y no dejes espacios en el hueco antes de la palabra que escribas porque la plataforma entenderá que no has escrito bien la palabra. 1. a plane in the airport. 2. some customers in that Travel Agency. 3. some Travel Agencies in my village. 4. some Travel Guides on the desk.

Actividad 2: Ahora deberás transformar las oraciones de la actividad 1 que has completado y autocorregido y ponerlas en forma negativa. RECUERDA: El indefinido nunca, absolutamente nunca, puede aparecer en una oración negativa Actividad 3: Ahora, haz lo mismo pero transfroma las oraciones en forma Interrogativa RECUERDA: El indefinido, aunque algunas veces pueda aparecer en oraciones interrogativas, lo normal es que se cambie a Para Saber Más Haz ejercicios con There is/ are visitando estas páginas: CET: There is/there are(1) CET: There is/there are (2)
6 6 de 12 Some / Any ALGO/ALGÚN /ALGUNOS /ALGUNAS NADA/NINGÚN /NINGUNOS /NINGUNAS 1. Son cuantificadores indefinidos 2. Frente al artículo indefinido ( A/AN que sólo puede acompañar a nombres contables (link a revisión de contables/no contables) en singular, y acompañan tanto a nombres contables en plural (link a revisión de plural del sustantivo)como a no contables. 3. y nos dan idea de cantidad sin concretarla con exactitud. 4. Tradicionalmente se estudia que aparece en frases afirmativas y en negativas e interrogativas; pero hay excepciones. Ejemplos There is AN EGG and FLOUR on the kitchen table Hay un huevo y un poco de harina sobre la mesa de la cocina There are EGGS and FLOUR on the kitchen table Hay algunos huevos y un poco de harina sobre la mesa de la cocina There aren t EGGS or FLOUR on the kitchen table No hay ningún huevo ni nada de harina sobre la mesa de la cocina Are there EGGS and FLOUR on the kitchen table? Hay algún huevo o algo de harina sobre la mesa de la cocina? MUY IMPORTANTE!!! Lee con mucha atención los cambios que hemos hecho entre algo/alguno/ninguna en la traducción de los ejemplos Completa con o There are I have a dog and We haven't got There is sweets on that table birds money milk in that jug
