You are entering a school with a long tradition of excellence. We want your years at GHS to be full of academic, personal, and social growth. You will have many new experiences during this school year; we encourage you to begin this part of your high school career by being an active participant. It is very important that you become engaged in both classroom and extra-curricular activities. A special orientation day for 9 th graders will take place on Tuesday, September 1, from 7:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. If you arrive at school before 7:30, please go to the Student Center. The orientation program will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. in the auditorium. Students will attend an initial class meeting, a house meeting, an extracurricular club fair, and each of the classes on their schedule. Please bring with you a notebook and a pen or pencil. Your schedule will be given to you on the first day of school. For those students who are eligible for bus service, buses will run their regular routes. The bus schedules are available on our website at We will provide a pizza lunch free of charge or, if you prefer, you may bring a bag lunch with you. A schedule offall sports try-outs is included. If you need additional information on the athletic program, call the Athletic Department at Athletes must submit parent permission slips and completed medical forms prior to try-outs or practice sessions. At Greenwich High School you are required to carry both your schedule and your GHS ID daily. Your GHS ID card will be issued in homeroom during the first week of school. If you are new to Greenwich Public Schools you will have your picture taken for the ID card in the Student Activities office on Tuesday, September I. 8 GREENWICH PUBLIC SCHOOLS Greenwich, Connecticut Policy E-045 Technology Procedure E Acceptable Use and Internet Safety Agreement Acceptable Technology Use Regulations/Internet Safety Terms of Agreement The Greenwich Public Schools ( District ) provides students and staff access to the World Wide Web and other electronic networks. These procedures are written to promote positive and effective digital citizenship among students and staff. Access is a privilege, not a right, and carries with it responsibilities for all involved. Misuse means any violation of this agreement or any other use that is not permitted in the agreement. Parental Permission It is assumed that parents grant their child the right to access the network unless a permission denial form is signed and returned. Furthermore, please note that under no circumstances will PreK-12 student photos on the GPS website be identified with first and last name unless, explicitly agreed to by the parents or by students over the age of 18. Network The District network includes wired and wireless computers and peripheral equipment, files, cloud and storage such as Google Docs and Schoology, and Internet content (blogs, web sites, web mail, groups, wikis, etc.). The District reserves the right to prioritize the use of, and access to, the network. All use of the network must support student instruction and professional learning consistent with the mission of the District. The District provides access to its computer networks and the Internet for educational purposes only. If you have any doubt about whether a contemplated activity is educational, you may consult with the person(s) designated by the school to help you decide. Use of Personal Electronic Devices Connection of any personal electronic device to any network on school grounds is subject to all regulations and guidelines in this document. Connection of student or staff personal laptops to the District network must be equipped with up-to-date virus software, compatible network card and is configured properly. Mobile Devices Policy The District may provide users with mobile computers or other devices to promote learning both inside and outside of the classroom. Any and all use of mobile devices provided by the District is subject to the terms of this agreement. Use of school-issued mobile devices, including use of the school network, may be monitored, or compliance with this agreement, compliance with any other applicable policy, or as otherwise permitted by law. Acceptable Use Creation of files, projects, videos, web pages, and podcasts and other projects using network resources in support of educational purpose; Participation in district-approved blogs, wikis, bulletin boards, social networking sites and groups and the creation of content for podcasts, and web pages that support student instruction and professional learning; With parental permission, the online publication of original educational material, curriculum related materials and student work. Sources outside the classroom or school must be cited appropriately; Unacceptable Use Unacceptable uses of technologies and the Internet include, but are not limited to: Causing harm to others or damage to their property. In the opinion of the Administration, producing and/or uploading content/videos/images, either through the use of the District network or from home computers, which seriously results in the disruption of the educational process or day-to-day operations of the school. In these cases, students will be asked to remove the content and may be subject to discipline. Use for personal gain, unauthorized fundraising, commercial solicitation and compensation of any kind. Activities incurring liability or cost by the District. The District will not be responsible for unauthorized financial obligations resulting from the use, or access to, Greenwich Public School s network or the Internet. Downloading, installing other unauthorized applications (including shareware or freeware) without permission or approval from a District representative. Support or opposition for ballot measures, candidates and any other political activity,,excluding specific activities supporting school-related projects. Hacking, cracking, vandalizing, the introduction of viruses, worms, Trojan horses, time bombs and changes to hardware, software and monitoring tools. Uses that jeopardize the security of student or staff access and of the computer network or other networks on the Internet, for example, disclosing or sharing your password with others or impersonating another user. 10 Unauthorized access to other district computers, networks and information systems. Using another s password or some other user identifier that misleads message recipients into believing that someone other than you is communicating or otherwise using his/her access to the network or the Internet. Cyberbullying, hate mail, defamation, harassment of any kind, discriminatory jokes and remarks. The sending, sharing, viewing or possessing pictures, s or other material of a sexual nature in electronic or any other form on a cell phone or other electronic device is prohibited in the school setting. Information posted, sent or stored online that could endanger others (e.g., bomb construction, drug manufacturing). Accessing, uploading, downloading, storage and/or distribution of obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit material. Attaching unauthorized equipment to the network. Any such equipment will be confiscated. Participating in blogs, wikis, bulletin boards, social networking sites and groups and the creation of content for podcasts, and web pages that do not support student instruction, research and staff development. Privacy Network and Internet access is provided as a tool for your education. The District reserves the right to monitor, inspect, copy, review and store at any time and without prior notice any and all usage of the computer network and Internet access and any and all information transmitted or received in connection with such usage. All such information files shall be and remain the property of the District and no user shall have any expectation of privacy regarding such materials. No student or staff user should have any expectation of privacy when using the District network for personal use. The District reserves the right to disclose any electronic messages to law enforcement officials or third parties as appropriate. All documents are subject to disclosure by the District to the extent required by laws of Connecticut. Copyright Downloading, copying, duplicating and distributing software, music, sound files, movies, images or other copyrighted materials without the specific written permission of the copyright owner is generally prohibited. However, the duplication and distribution of materials for educational purposes are permitted when such duplication and distribution fall within the Fair Use Doctrine of the United States Copyright Law (Title 17, USC) and content is cited appropriately. Confidentiality of Student Information Personally identifiable information concerning students may not be disclosed or used in any way on the Internet without the permission of a parent or guardian, or, if the student is 18 or over, the permission of the student himself/herself. Users should never give out private or confidential information about themselves or others on the Internet. Internet Safety In using the network and Internet, users should not reveal personal information such as home address or telephone number. Users should never arrange a face-to-face meeting with someone met on the District computer network or the Internet without a parent s permission if under 18 years of age. Filtering and Monitoring Filtering software is used to block or filter access to visual depictions that are obscene and all child pornography in accordance with the Children s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and other objectionable material. The determination of what constitutes other objectionable material is a district decision and will be consistent with the policies and regulations of Greenwich Public Schools. Parents and Users. Despite every effort for supervision and filtering, all users and their parents/guardians are advised that access to the electronic network may include the potential for access to materials inappropriate for school-aged students. Every user must take responsibility for his or her use of the network and Internet and avoid these sites. Filtering software is not 100% effective. While filters make it more difficult for objectionable material to be received or accessed, filters are not a solution in themselves. Use of New Web Tools Classroom blogs, wikis, student , podcasts or other Web interactive use must follow all established Internet safety guidelines. Staff and students using blogs, podcasts or other web tools for educational purposes are expected to act safely by keeping ALL personal information out of their posts. 12 agree to not share their username or password with anyone besides their teachers and parents and treat blog spaces and online spaces, such as Schoology or discussion forums, as classroom spaces. Speech that is inappropriate for class is also inappropriate for a blog. Users who do not abide by these terms and conditions may lose their opportunity to take part in the project and/or be subject to consequences appropriate to misuse. Usage Policies All technologies provided by the District are intended for educational purposes. All users are expected to use good judgment and to follow the specifics of this document and spirit of this document: be safe, appropriate, careful and kind; don t try to get around technological protection measures; use good common sense; and ask if you do not know how to use a certain device or what is proper Web behavior. Web Access The District provides its users with access to the Internet, including web sites, resources, content, and online tools. Teachers will ensure to restrict access in compliance with the Children s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and Children s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and all other applicable regulations and school policies for compliance with any other applicable policy, or as otherwise permitted by law. Web browsing may be monitored and web activity records may be retained indefinitely. Users are expected to respect that the web filter is a safety precaution, and are not not try to circumvent it when browsing the Web. If a site is blocked and a user believes it shouldn t be, the user should follow the appropriate protocol to alert an IT staff member or submit the site for review. The District provides users with accounts for the purpose of schoolrelated communication. Availability and use may be restricted based on school policies. If users are provided with accounts, they are to be used with care. Users are not to send personal information without permission; should not attempt to open files or follow links from unknown or untrusted origin; should use appropriate language; and should only communicate with other people as allowed by the district policy or the teacher. Users are expected to communicate with the same appropriate, safe, mindful, courteous conduct online as offline. usage may be monitored and archived. Online Courses The District may approve and enroll students in online courses to enhance the available academic offerings to students, or to facilitate their recovery of credits. The District requires the same process for the approval of courses online that is required for the approval of traditional courses. 13 Recognizing that collaboration is essential to education, the District may provide users with access to web sites or tools that allow communication, collaboration, sharing, and messaging among users. Social Networking Sites mostly limited for use to Greenwich High School students - may be available to students per COPPA and the terms of use policy of the website for educational purposes. Users are expected to communicate on all web-based and mobile platforms with the same appropriate, safe, mindful, courteous conduct online as offline. Posts, chats, sharing, and messaging may be monitored. Users should be careful and are not to share personally identifying information online without permission. Use of and Cloud Services All staff is provided district-sponsored through Google Apps for Education, Gmail service. Students in grades six through twelve are also provided with in a Google education domain that is filtered. Students in grades 3-5 will be provided with access to Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Presentations). As with any technology, student and access to services such as Google Apps is a privilege not a right which that can be revoked at any time for inappropriate use. Availability and use may be restricted based on school policies. If users are provided with accounts, they are to be used with care in connection with classroom learning only. Users may not: send personal information without permission; attempt to open files or follow links from an unknown or untrusted origin; use inappropriate language; and communicate with people other than those allowed by the district policy or the teacher. Consequences of inappropriate use of student may include, but are not limited to: loss of and/or computer privileges, alternative assignments, or other consequences, including disciplinary consequences as deemed appropriate. 14 Do not assume that a sender of is giving his or her permission for you to forward or redistribute the message to third parties or to give his/her address to third parties. This should only be done with permission or when you know that the individual would have no objection. Student Information, Photos, Work on the Greenwich Public Schools Web Site Using student pictures on the Greenwich Public Schools website promotes learning, collaboration and provides an opportunity to share the achievements of students. However, safety of students is a priority. The school website will follow all procedures for content, copyright and appropriateness per Web Publishing Procedures (E051.34). Images and names of PreK-12 students may be included on the Greenwich Public Schools website without identifying captions or names. In grades 9-12, websites may include full names for student work/honors without accompanying images. Any exceptions to this guideline will be communicated and signed-off by individual parents through school personnel. Parents or students over the age of 18 may opt out of any use of image/student work by indicating their wishes on this Internet Safety and Acceptable Use Agreement. Disciplinary Action All users of the Greenwich Public Schools network and electronic resources are required to comply with and agree to abide by the provisions set forth in this agreement. Violation of any of the conditions of use explained could be cause for disciplinary action, including revocation of network and computer access privileges, suspension, expulsion or termination in the case of employees. Any use which violates state or federal law relating to copyright, trade secrets, the distribution of obscene or pornographic materials, or which violates any other applicable law or municipal ordinance, is strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement and/or other appropriate state or federal agencies. 16 Normativa E-045 Tecnología ESCUELAS PÚBLICAS DE GREENWICH Greenwich, Connecticut Normativa E Acuerdo para la Seguridad y Uso Aceptable del Internet Regulaciones para el Uso Aceptable Tecnológico y Acuerdo de los Términos de Seguridad en el Internet Las Escuelas Públicas de Greenwich (Distrito) facilitan a los estudiantes y al personal acceso a la World Wide Web y otras redes electrónicas. Estos procedimientos están diseñados para promover un civismo digital positivo y efectivo entre los estudiantes y el personal. El acceso es un privilegio, no un derecho, que conlleva las responsabilidades de todos los involucrados. Uso inapropiado significa la violación de este acuerdo o cualquier otro uso que no esté permitido en este acuerdo. Permiso Paterno Se da por entendido que los padres conceden a sus hijos el derecho de acceso a la red a no ser que entreguen un formulario firmado denegando tal derecho. Es más, les rogamos tengan en cuenta, que bajo ninguna circunstancia se identificará con nombre y apellido las fotos de los estudiantes desde PreK hasta el doceavo grado publicadas en la página Web de GPS, a no ser que se haya acordado explícitamente con los padres o con los estudiantes mayores de 18 años. Red La red del Distrito incluye computadoras conectadas e inalámbricas y equipo adicional, archivos y storage, y contenido de Internet (blogs, web sites, web mail, wikis etc). El distrito se reserva el derecho de priorizar el uso y acceso a la red. El uso de la red debe reforzar la formación del estudiante, la investigación y el aprendizaje profesional en concordancia con la misión del Distrito. El Distrito facilita el acceso a la red en sus computadoras y en el Internet para fines educativos únicamente. Si tienen alguna duda sobre el valor educativo de una actividad en particular, pueden consultar al personal escolar asignado para este fin para que les ayude a decidir. Uso de Aparatos Electrónicos Personales La conexión de cualquier aparato electrónico personal a cualquier red en el ámbito escolar está sujeta a todas las regulaciones y directrices señaladas en este documento. La conexión de laptops personales de estudiantes o del personal a la red del Distrito debe estar equipada con un programa actual antivirus, tarjeta compatible de red, y tiene que tener una configuración apropiada. Normativa para el Uso de los Aparatos Móviles El Distrito podría facilitar computadoras móviles u otros aparatos para promocionar el aprendizaje tanto dentro como fuera de clase. Cualquier uso de los aparatos móviles facilitados por el distrito está sujeto a los términos de este acuerdo. 17 Se espera que los usuarios traten estos aparatos con extremo cuidado y precaución ya que la escuela ha puesto en manos de los usuarios aparatos muy caros. Los usuarios tendrán que notificar inmediatamente al personal técnico de cualquier pérdida, daño o mal funcionamiento. Los usuarios podrían ser responsables de la carga financiera en caso de daños por negligencia o por uso inapropiado. (El coste de los aparatos facilitados por el distrito podría variar pero normalmente es de unos quinientos dólares) El uso de aparatos móviles proporcionados por la escuela incluye también el uso de la red de la escuela y podría ser vigilado en cumplimiento de este acuerdo o en cumplimiento de cualquier otra normativa pertinente tal y como lo permite la ley. Uso Aceptable La creación de archivos, proyectos, videos, páginas web y podcast y cualquier otro proyecto usando los recursos de la red que respalden una investigación educativa. La participación en blogs aprobados por el distrito, wikis, bulletin boards, páginas de redes sociales y grupos y la creación de contenido para podcasts, y páginas web que respalden la instrucción del estudiante y el aprendizaje profesional. Con permiso paternal se publicará en el Internet material educativo original, materiales relacionados con el curriculum y el trabajo del estudiante. Las fuentes que no provengan de la clase o de la escuela deben ser citadas apropiadamente. Uso Inaceptable Los usos inaceptables de tecnología e Internet se incluyen pero no se limitan a: Perjudicar al prójimo o dañar su propiedad. Bajo la opinión de la Administración, producir y/o cargar contenido, videos o imágenes, tanto por medio de la red del Distrito o desde computadoras en el hogar, que podría resultar en un trastorno serio del proceso educativo o de las operaciones diarias escolares. En estos casos, se le pedirá a los estudiantes que eliminen tal contenido y estos podrán estar sujetos a disciplina. El uso con fines lucrativos personales, recaudación de fondos sin autorización, anunciarse con fines comerciales o buscar cualquier tipo de compensación. Actividades que incurran en algún tipo de responsabilidad o gasto financiero para el Distrito. El Distrito no se hace responsable de ninguna obligación financiera no autorizada como resultado del uso o acceso a la red de las Escuelas Públicas de Greenwich o el Internet. Descargar, instalar y usar juegos, audio, videos o cualquier otra aplicación no autorizada, (incluyendo shareware o freeware), sin el permiso o la aprobación de un representante del distrito. El apoyo o la oposición a propuestas de ley, candidatos políticos, o cualquier otra actividad política, exceptuando actividades concretas que apoyen proyectos escolares. Robar, piratear, destrozar, introducir virus, Worms, Trojan horses, time bombs y cambios al hardware, software, o a cualquier herramienta de vigilancia. Usos que pongan en peligro la seguridad del estudiante o el acceso del personal a la red de la computadora u otras redes en el Internet. Por ejemplo, revelar o compartir la contraseña personal con otros o hacerse pasar por otro usuario. 18 Acceso sin autorización a computadoras de otros distritos, redes y sistemas de información Usar la contraseña de otro o cualquier otra herramienta que identifique la identidad del usuario y que dicha acción lleve al engañó del que recibe el mensaje, creyendo que es otra persona distinta la que verdaderamente se ha comunicado con él/ella o también usar el acceso de otra persona en la red o el Internet. Acoso cibernético, correos de odio, difamación, acosos de cualquier tipo, bromas o comentarios discriminatorios. En el entorno escolar está prohibido mandar, compartir, ver o poseer imágenes, e- mails o cualquier otro material electrónico de naturaleza sexual o en cualquier formato, en un teléfono celular u otro aparato electrónico. Información publicada, mandada o archivada en el Internet que pueda poner en peligro a otros (Ej. Construcción de bombas, fabricar drogas) Acceder, cargar, descargar, guardar y distribuir material obsceno, pornográfico o sexualmente explícito. Añadir a la red equipo sin autorización. Tal equipo será confiscado. Participar en blogs, wikis, bulleting boards, networking social, y grupos y la creación de contenido para podcasts, y páginas web que no respalden la instrucción del estudiante, investigación y formación del personal. Privacidad El Acceso a la red y al Internet se considera una herramienta para tu educación. El Distrito se reserva el derecho de vigilar, inspeccionar, copiar, revisar y archivar en cualquier momento y sin previo aviso el uso que se esta haciendo de la red, de la computadora, el acceso al Internet y cualquier información transmitida o recibida en conexión con tal uso. Dicha información es y será propiedad del Distrito y ningún usuario debe esperar privacidad respecto a estos materiales. Ningún estudiante o empleado debe tener expectativas de privacidad cuando está usando la red del Distrito por motivos personales. El Distrito se reserva el derecho de revelar cualquier mensaje electrónico a las autoridades o a terceros cuando sea apropiado. Todos los documentos son sujetos a su divulgación por el distrito tal y como lo requieren las leyes de Connecticut. Derechos de Propiedad Esta generalmente prohibido descargar, copiar, duplicar y distribuir software, música, archivos de sonido, imágenes u otros materiales con derechos de propiedad sin el permiso por escrito del titular de los derechos de autor. No obstante, la duplicación y la distribución de materiales educativos están permitidas, siempre y cuando tal duplicación y distribución esté dentro de la Doctrina del Uso Justo de la ley de Derechos de Reproducción de los Estados Unidos (Título 17, USC) y el contenido sea citado apropiadamente. Confidencialidad de la Información del Estudiante No se puede revelar o usar la información personal que pueda identificar al estudiante en el Internet sin el permiso de los padres o tutor o, si el estudiante es mayor de 18 años, con su propio permiso. Los usuarios nunca deben de dar información privada o confidencial sobre ellos o los demás en el Internet. Tal como lo define la ley, un maestro, supervisor o administrador debe autorizar la difusión de la información del directorio para propósitos administrativos internos o para proyectos o actividades educativas previamente aprobadas. 19 Seguridad en el Internet Cuando se usa la red y el Internet, los usuarios no deben revelar información personal como la dirección del hogar o el número de teléfono. Los usuarios, si son menores de 18 años, nunca deben concertar citas cara a cara con alguien que hayan conocido en la red del Distrito o en el Internet sin el permiso paternal. Filtros y Vigilancia Se usan filtros en el software para bloquear o filtrar acceso visual a imágenes que son obscenas y a toda pornografía infantil de acuerdo al Acta de Protección Infantil en el Internet (CIPA) y otros materiales censurables. Es decisión del distrito determinar que otros materiales podrían ser censurables y dicha decisión será consistente con las normativas y las regulaciones de las Escuelas Públicas de Greenwich. Padres y Usuarios. A pesar de todos los esfuerzos que se hacen para supervisar y filtrar, todos los usuarios, padres y tutores están avisados de que el acceso a la red electrónica puede incluir la posibilidad de que los estudiantes tengan acceso a material inapropiado para su edad. Cada usuario debe ser responsable del uso de la red e internet y evitar estas páginas Web. Los filtros en el software no son efectivos al 100%. Los filtros hacen que el material censurable sea más difícil de recibir o acceder pero los filtros no son la solución definitiva. Cada usuario debe de ser responsable del uso de la red o el Internet y evitar sitios censurables. Esta prohibido cualquier intento de sabotear o eludir el filtro de Internet o de esconder la actividad del Internet: proxies, https, puertos especiales, modificaciones en los formatos de los buscadores de la agencia y cualquier otra técnica destinada a evadir los filtros o permitir la publicación del contenido censurable. El que no tiene que ver con la educación y la investigación del Distrito será considerado SPAM y se le bloqueará la entrada al buzón de del distrito. El Distrito proveerá supervisión adecuada por parte de adultos en el uso del Internet. La mejor manera de controlar el acceso de materiales inapropiados a menores es la vigilancia deliberada y constante del acceso del estudiante a las computadoras del Distrito. El personal que supervise a los estudiantes, que controle el equipo electrónico o que tenga ocasión de observar el uso del estudiante cuando está conectado, tendrá que hacer un esfuerzo conjunto para vigilar y asegurarse de que el uso que hace el estudiante se ajusta a la misión y a las metas del distrito y El personal debe hacer un esfuerzo conjunto para familiarizarse con el Internet y para vigilar, instruir y asistir de una manera efectiva. Uso de Nuevas Herramientas de la Web Los blogs de la clase, el protegido del estudiante, podcast y demás usos interactivos de la Web deben cumplir todas las normas establecidas de seguridad en el Internet. 20 Se espera que el personal y los estudiantes que usen blogs, podcasts, u otras herramientas de la Web actúen de una manera responsable evitando la difusión de TODA la información personal. Los estudiantes que usan tales herramientas han acordado el no compartir su nombre de usuario o contraseña con nadie excepto sus maestros y padres y a tratar los espacios blog y espacios de internet, tales como Schoology o foros de discusión, como espacios del aula. El lenguaje que es inapropiado en la clase, también lo es en un blog. Los usuarios que no cumplan estos términos y condiciones podrían perder la oportunidad de tomar parte en un proyecto y ser sujetos a las consecuencias por el uso inapropiado. Normativas de Uso Todas las tecnologías facilitadas por el distrito son para uso educativo. Se espera que todos los usuarios apliquen buen juicio a la hora de usar la tecnología y que sigan los dictámenes y las ideas de este documento tales como: seguridad ante todo, corrección, precaución, esmero y amabilidad. No intentes evitar las medidas tecnológicas de protección, utiliza el sentido común y pide ayuda si no sabes usar cualquier aparato o cuál es el comportamiento adecuado cuando usas la Web. Acceso a la Web El distrito facilita a los usuarios el acceso al Internet, incluyendo páginas Web, recursos, contenido y herramientas en línea. Los maestros se encargarán de restringir el acceso de acuerdo a la Ley de Protección de Menores en el Internet (CIPA) y Ley de Protección de la Privacidad de Menores en el Internet (COPPA) y en cumplimiento de cualquier otra regulación pertinente y normativa escolar. Se vigilará la navegación en la Web. Además, la actividad en la Web se podría archivar y guardar indefinidamente. Se espera que los usuarios respeten el hecho de que los filtros en la Web son medidas de precaución y que no pueden intentar evadirlas cuando navegan en la Web. Si una página Web está bloqueada y el usuario piensa que no debería ser así, el usuario deberá seguir el protocolo pertinente para notificar al personal técnico o presentar esa página Web para su revisión. El distrito facilita a sus usuarios una cuenta de para la comunicación escolar. La disponibilidad y el uso podrían ser restringidos según la normativa escolar. Los usuarios con cuentas de tendrán que utilizarlas con precaución. Los usuarios no pueden mandar información personal sin permiso, no pueden intentar abrir archivos o enlaces que vengan de fuentes desconocidas, tendrán que usar lenguaje apropiado y sólo deberán establecer comunicación con otras personas tal y como está permitido por las normativas del distrito o del maestro. Se espera que los usuarios se comuniquen en línea de la misma manera que cuando no están en línea, es decir, de manera apropiada, con precaución, conscientemente y amablemente. 21 Con la idea de que la colaboración es esencial para la educación, el Distrito podrá facilitar a los usuarios el acceso a páginas Web o herramientas que permitan la comunicación, colaboración, participación y el envió de mensajes entre los usuarios. Las redes sociales, en la mayoría limitadas al uso de los estudiantes de Greenwich de Bachillerato (High School), pueden estar disponibles a los estudiantes de acuerdo a COPPA y a los términos de las normativas del uso de la página Web con fines educativos. Se espera que los usuarios se comuniquen en todas las plataformas de la Web y móviles de manera apropiada, con precaución, conscientemente y amablemente. Todo lo que se publique, se hable, se comparta o se diga por mensajes será vigilado. Los usuarios deberán tener precaución y no compartir información personal sin permiso. Uso del y los Servicios de Nube A todos los empleados se les facilita un del distrito por medio de Google Apps para la Educación, servicio Gmail. A los estudiantes a partir del sexto grado hasta el doceavo se les facilita un protegido y con filtros. Los estudiantes en los grados de tercero hasta quinto tendrán acceso a Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Presentations). Como con cualquier tecnología, el del estudiante es un privilegio, no un derecho, el cual puede ser revocado en cualquier momento por uso inapropiado. La disponibilidad y el uso podrían ser restringidos según la normativa escolar. Si a los usuarios se les dota con cuentas de , estos tendrán que usarlas con precaución y siempre en conexión con el aprendizaje. Los usuarios no pueden mandar información personal sin permiso, no pueden intentar abrir archivos o enlaces que vengan de fuentes desconocidas, usar lenguaje inapropiado y comunicarse con otras personas que no estén autorizadas por las normativas del Distrito o del maestro. Se espera que los usuarios se comuniquen en línea de la misma manera que cuando no están en línea, es decir, de manera apropiada, con precaución, conscientemente y amablemente.
