Murphy and Fr. Anderson will leave on Sunday afternoon and return late Friday. Since there is no priest available, we will have a prayer service on Monday through Saturday mornings in place of mass. Ordination Congratulations to Oscar Dubon, who will be ordained a priest for the archdiocese of Houston-Galveston on June 7th. Oscar was a member of our Holy Name jóvenes group when he decided to study for the priesthood. He will celebrate his First Mass on Sunday, June 8th here at Holy Name at 12:00 noon. We will have a reception for him following the mass. We will also take up a collection at all the weekend masses to help him buy whatever he needs for his ministry. Congratulations, Oscar. We are very proud of you.

Teen Confirmation Our teenagers were confirmed at Holy Name on Thursday evening by Cardinal DiNardo. We will have a photo for next week s bulletin. Adult Confirmation Two of our parishioners who atended our RCIA class all year, Virginia Carreon Zuniga and Jackie Conde, will be confirmed by Cardinal DiNardo at the Cathedral on Pentecost Sunday, June 8th. The service begins at 3:00pm. The churches are on display in the church sanctuary. They need to be seen up close to realize just how creative the children were. Why not come on the altar after mass to have a closer look? Proyecto de la Primer Comuniόn Los niños y niñas que se están preparando para su Primera Comunión fueron muy creativos en hacer modelos individuales de iglesias como parte de su proyecto de la Primera Comunión. 4 House repair We are removing all the remaining carpet from the church rectory (not before its time!). Luis and Martin have already installed tile in the front entrance and church office. Juan Otero will install laminate flooring in place of the carpet in the rest of the house. Juan is Johnny Otero s son, the man who organizes the bands for our church festivals. Juan has a home remodeling business and he gave us a price that is less than it would have cost us to buy the materials and do the work ourselves. Thanks, Juan. Church air conditioning Kilgore Company has installed all the ductwork beneath the Church and repaired the air conditioning coils. We now have a functioning air conditioning unit. The Diocese has paid for the ductwork ($75,507.00) and we will pay for the air conditioning. Boiler Kilgore Company is in the process of installing the new Church boiler. La Diócesis se a comprometido a pagar por la compra e instalación del calentador. Water under the church We have lots of water coming from the ground and gathering under the church. The problem lies in the blocked drainage systems that were originally in place to remove the rainwater from the roofs on our buildings. The water is finding its way to the lowest point and that happens to be the area under the church. We are in the process of investigating how best to solve the problem.

5 Agua debajo de la Iglesia Esta saliendo mucha agua debajo del suelo y se esta juntando debajo de la iglesia. La Ciudad dice que no es una fuga de agua. El problema esta en que el Sistema del drenaje que originalmente pusieron para remover el agua de la lluvia de los techos esta bloqueado. El agua sale por el punto mas bajo y resulta ser que el área mas baja es la área debajo de la iglesia. Estamos en el proceso de investigar cual seria la mejor manera de resolver este problema. Computer class Our second computer class now has ten students. We have twenty computers, so we have room for more students if you are interested. Monday mornings from 10:00-12:30 pm.
