I m learning that I can check if I understand what I read when I retell in my own words. When I finish reading the information, I can use the photographs to help me retell. 2 Tell and Retell a Story Let s look at each picture and read the sentences. Then, we can put the pictures in order to tell a story. There are different ways we can tell this story. A penguin baby is called a chick. Penguin chicks do not look like their moms and dads. They are smaller and their feathers are different. But the chick will change as it grows. 11

15 This penguin keeps an egg safe from danger. This penguin has an egg. The penguin will keep the egg warm until it opens. 10 These small fish are krill. Penguins eat small fish called krill. They eat squid, crabs, and other kinds of fish, too. 7 So Many Penguins
