CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT COLLECTION (November 24) The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is an instrument of the Catholic Church working to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ, "... to bring good news to the poor... release to captives... sight to the blind, and let the oppressed go free."(luke 4:18) CCHD is the official domestic anti-poverty agency of the U.S. Catholic Bishops and works to break the cycle of poverty by helping people help themselves. CCHD also educates on poverty and its causes. This strategy of education for justice and helping people who are poor speak and act for themselves reflects the mandate of Scripture and the principles of Catholic social teaching. CCHD provides Catholics concrete opportunities to live out love of God and neighbor in ways that express our baptismal call and continuing Eucharistic transformation. CCHD is made possible by the support of Catholics in the United States, especially through an annual parish collection. For more information visit: SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS On Thursday, October 31, OLHR students had fun with Halloween by dressing up and participating in the pumpkin and costume contest. The afternoon was spent creeping through the haunted house (created by 8th grade) and playing games in the school courtyard. Por ejemplo, la Iglesia de la Sagrada Familia en la calle Arminta, y la Iglesia San Judas Tadeo en North Hollywood, ubicadas dentro de los límites de la parroquia del Santo Rosario, están incluidas en esta categoría y no son Iglesias Católicas Romanas. Sus sacramentos no son considerados válidos por nuestra Iglesia Católica Romana. No se deje engañar! También aquellas personas que recibieron Sacramentos en casas como bautizo, primera Comunión, confirmación no son validos o reconocidos por nuestra Iglesia Católica Romana. COMIDA DE ACCION DE GRACIAS (Jornaleros de Sherman Way) Tendremos una comida de acción de gracias para los jornaleros el día miércoles, 27 de noviembre en el auditorio. Si les gustaría hacer donaciones de pavo u otro tipo de comida para esta cena o si quisieran ofrecer su tiempo en preparar y servir comida o también si desean preparar las canastas, por favor llamen a la oficina parroquial y deje su nombre y numero telefónico.
