The announcement will identify our school district as White Bear Lake Area Public Schools. Efforts will also be made to use the parent notification alert system to notify families of school closures. If no announcement is made, schools will be in session as scheduled. Parents may also check the District website or Facebook/Twitter page, or call the White Bear Lake Area School Closing Hotline number at Transportation Bus route information will be mailed to parents approximately one week before the first day of the school year. Students should be at the bus stop five minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. Students are only allowed to ride the bus to and from the school and bus stop they are assigned. Students are not allowed to ride another bus to events such as birthday parties, scouting, or other activities. Bus schedules are somewhat flexible during the first week of school while drivers become familiar with the routes. In cases of inclement weather, bus drivers will try to maintain their schedules. However, if roads are icy or snow covered, buses may be late and parents and students should plan accordingly. Parents should use their discretion in sending children outside when the weather is extremely cold.
