Parents must be registered, active members of the parish for three months prior to the Baptism. Call the Parish Office to make arrangements. Marriages: Arrangements must be made at least six months in advance. The Catholic party must be registered, active member of our parish. Call the Parish Office to make arrangements. Anointing and Pastoral Care of the Sick: Please call the Parish Office with emergencies or if anyone is sick at home, in the hospital or nursing home and wishes to be visited. We will celebrate all the fall fundraising we have done for St. Vincent de Paul. Please RSVP to let me know you will be coming so we have enough food. Lunch with St. Nicholas Helping Others in Need Come and join us for lunch with St. Nicholas on Saturday, December 5th from 12:30 2:30pm in the Parish Hall. In the spirit of St. Nicholas, you and your family will have an opportunity to help wrap gifts and make greeting cards for families in our parish who need a little help this Christmas. We will be serving a delicious lunch for everyone. Children can have their photo taken with St. Nicholas. It will be a time filled with fun, food and most importantly an opportunity to help others. If you selected a child s name, please bring your unwrapped gift to the event. Remember to attach the St. Nicholas card with the child s name to the gift. The event is free and everyone is welcome! For more information contact Joan Koontz at Stewardship Bulletin Reflection for the Week of The Gospel from Mark contains one of the most repeated and utilized accounts about what it means to practice stewardship, as well as the requirements that need to be met in order to be a good steward. It is the story of the poor widow who placed two small coins worth a few cents into the offering basket. Although we often call this the narrative of the Widow s Mite, we should keep in mind that a mite was a medieval English coin, and that term was never used until the Bible was rewritten during the Reformation Mite was first used in the King James version of the Bible. However, the significance of the story is not what we might call the coins; it is what Jesus was trying to tell us by sharing what happened. The Lord parallels an oft-repeated stewardship saying, Not equal giving, but equal sacrifice. It is not the size of our gifts of gratitude to God that matter; it is the idea that each of us as Catholics and Christians makes an equal sacrifice in our efforts to be good stewards. The Lord tells us, For they have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood. Although He does not say it specifically, what Jesus is declaring to us is, She trusts Me. Do we? Do our sacrifices reflect that trust? ST. PATRICK VOLUNTEER WISH LIST 1. The Religious Article Store needs someone to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 9:00am mass and after all the masses on the weekend. 2. Someone to run the Power Point slides at the 11:30 mass.
