2 ST. PATRICK CHURCH MOUNT DORA, FLORIDA The St. Patrick Parish is invited to attend the 6:00 p.m. Contemporary Youth and family-inspired Mass on Sunday, June 30th. Youth Room Open House The Youth Room will be open each Sunday from 12:00 1:00 beginning June 9 th to all St. Patrick youth between 6 th and 12 th grade. Come play ping pong, listen to music, and catch up with friends over the summer. St. Patrick Youth s First Annual Grill the Priest : Saturday, June 29 th, 5:30 8:00 p.m. All Youth are invited to attend this event where Fr. Robert, Fr. Nelson, and Sr. Judy will grill hot dogs and hamburgers for you, as you have the opportunity to GRILL them with any perplexing questions you may have. Please bring either a dessert or chips to share. We have Morning Prayer Monday Friday at 8:30am in the church. There is a signup sheet in the Gathering Space to take up the gifts during Mass for a special occasion. We have a Religious Article store where you can find many inspirational readings and gifts. It is open after Mass on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Being a minister of hospitality, usher, can be performed while attending Mass. The only requirement is to have a background check and be able to smile. Ask an usher for information. Coffee and pastries are served after the 8:00 & 10:30 Masses in the Gathering Space. Bishop John Noonan will preside at mass celebrating the sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, June 18th at 7:00 pm. Everyone is cordially invited to join the confirmandi to support their journey of faith with us. Next week s second collection is for PETER S PENCE. The Diocese of Orlando will participate in the Peter s Pence Special Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the funds needed to carry out his most important charitable works. BLOOD MOBILE June 30 th, August 25 th, October 20 th and December 15, Stewardship Bulletin Reflection for the Week of June 16, 2013 Perhaps one of the most difficult aspects of stewardship to accept involves how we follow our faith how we live out our Catholic beliefs. One of our sacraments is the sacrament of reconciliation. Today s readings deal with that sacrament. In the first reading from Samuel, King David is chastised by the prophet Nathan for his sinfulness. David, recognizing and acknowledging his sin, says, I have sinned against the LORD. He is forgiven. That same theme is followed in the Gospel of Luke, which tells the story of the sinful woman who enters the house of Simon the Pharisee to honor Jesus. Like David she recognizes her sinfulness, and Jesus says to her, Your sins are forgiven Your faith has saved you; go in peace. The good steward understands the importance of spiritual healing. The Sacrament of Penance is the Sacrament of this spiritual healing. It involves contrition, confession to a priest, absolution by the priest, and penance. Some theologians have referred to reconciliation as the more difficult Baptism. None other than St. Ambrose, one of the original four doctors of the Church, drew a comparison between Baptism and Reconciliation: There are water and tears; the water of Baptism and the tears of repentance. We, too, need to strive to hear Your faith has saved you; go in peace. Don t forget to continue bringing food for St. Vincent de Paul during the summer. There is a chest in the Gathering Space where you can drop it off all week from 8:00am 4:00pm.
