5 Notas de rograma: Cuarteto de Cuerdas N.: El Valle de los Menhires (The Valley o the Menhirs) En el norte de Argentina - en lo que ueron los bordes del imerio Inca - existe un curioso lugar llamado Taí del Valle. La rovincia de Tucumán, donde éste se encuentra, es arcialmente un bosque subtroical, de clima cálido y húmedo durante gran arte del año. artiendo de la ciudad caital, y ascendiendo cerros cubiertos de una vegetación tan densa que oscurece el cielo, el aisae se torna más eseso y húmedo en cada curva. Reentinamente, sin embargo, y desués de alcanzar las cumbres, la geograía cambia radicalmente. Un amlio valle se abre ante la vista, la vegetación se vuelve escasa, el aire seco y el cielo inmenso. De un costado se extiende una laguna y rente a ella un sitio sorrendente: el Valle de los Menhires. Docenas de menhires - monumentos monolíticos en orma de tótems - esculidos en iedra or una antiquísima civilización desconocida, se yerguen uno unto al otro, como millones de dedos tratando de alcanzar el cielo. O, más recisamente, el Sol. orque uno de los rasgos más intrigantes de los menhires son los oos de las iguras talladas en ellos: siemre miran al Sol en su viae cotidiano or la bóveda celeste. or medio de alguna increíble técnica, el desconocido artista encontró el modo de usar las sombras de cada hora del día ara hacer que las miradas se movieran, ias en la oderosa Estrella que era el undamento de sus creencias. 7 Datos sobre el comositor: Comositor y director de orquesta argentino, Eduardo Alonso-Creso (Argentina, 195) estudió en la Escuela de Artes Musicales de la Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, obteniendo en esa misma universidad el título de ingeniero civil. Mediante una beca ulbright de ostgrado estudió en la Universidad de Carnegie Mellon en los Estados Unidos, donde recibió el grado de Master en Dirección Orquestal y Coral, luego de ereccionarse con los maestros Lukas oss, Leonardo alada y Samuel ones. Alonso-Creso ha recibido un total de dieciocho remios y distinciones nacionales e internacionales como comositor, incluyendo el remio Aleandro Sha de la Academia Nacional de ellas Artes, el rimer remio de la undación romúsica y la Cancillería Argentina, el rimer y Segundo remios simultáneamente del Concurso Luis Gianneo, el remio Internacional Cristóbal Colón de Música Sinónica, el remio del Régimen de Encargos de Obras Sinónicas del ondo Nacional de las Artes, el Segundo remio de la undación San Telmo, el Segundo remio de Comosición de la Universidad Nacional de la lata, el Tercer remio del Concurso Internacional Viotti-Valsesia, Italia, la Mención Honoríica de la Secretaría de Cultura de la Nación, el remio Músico del Año (Salta, 199), el remio Iris Marga a la meor música ara teatro, la distinción de Ciudadano Destacado (Tucumán, 199) y el remio de Comosición de Música Sinónica de la Orquesta Sinónica de ahía lanca.
