JUSTIFICACIÓN: Managers and administrators depend on formal and informal media to obtain data required for decision making. Managers acquire formal information through management reports and routine statistics. These are standardized reports that are regularly generated and are the most visible part of what is known as Management Information Systems (MIS). Informal information includes rumors and non-official discussions with coworkers. Personal experience, education, common sense, intuition, and knowledge of the socio-political environment are among the informal media used to gather information Página 1 de 7
3. DESCRIPCIÓN: This course is a review of basic management information systems concepts, as well as a discussion of current trends and tools commonly found in the business. 4. COMPETENCIAS: 4.1. Competencias Genéricas: To develop an understanding of how management information systems work and countribute to efficient decision making processes in business. 4.2. Competencias Específicas: Integrate information system objectives into short-term strategic plans. Focus on MIS objectives. Plan the allocation of resources required for the implementation of a management information system. Ensure the efficient and systematic development of information systems.
