The BLA funds many programs, services and ministries that serve people in need and furthers the Gospel mission of Jesus Christ in our diocese. Attend the weekend discernment Retreat For Men (ages 17-55) March This is a great opportunity for prayer and discernment, confession, talking with priests and seminarians, and preparing for Holy Week. Cost is $60 and includes overnights and all meals (financial assistance is available if needed). Retreat starts Friday at p.m. and concludes Sunday after lunch. The Work Camp Team will be hosting the suppers as a way to serve the Parish and begin fundraising for Work Camp. The suppers are free. Any donations will go toward Work Camp. PREVIEW TO CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL Paul VI Catholic High School is hosting a Preview to Catholic High School for all 7th and 8th graders and their families on Wednesday, March 6th at 7:00. OLA CONTRIBUTION UPDATE The First Collection for the weekend of February 17 & 18 amounted to $ 20, For the Weekend of February 24 & 25 amounted to $21, Our Parish needs everyone s help. We spend one hour with Jesus per week at Mass. Can your household also contribute at least one Holy Hour per week in our Adoration Chapel, at least one hour s income per week to the offertory, or at least one hour s service per week to a parish activity? SPRING MULCH FUNDRAISING SALE Boy Scout Troop 1365, sponsored by OLA, is holding its Spring Mulch Fundraising Sale this month, with delivery of mulch on Saturday, March 10 th. The bags are 2 cubic foot and cost $4.00 each. Three different types of mulch are offered for sale, including Central Hardwood, Shredded Pine, and Rappahannock Mininuggets. If you have any questions about this fundraiser or need a flyer sent to you, please call WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER (WWME) And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Let the Holy Spirit acknowledge and increase our love for our spouses while we participate in a Worldwide Marriage Encounter (WWME) weekend. Su generosidad y consideración serán cordialmente agradecidos. Bendiciones! COMO HACER UNA BUENA CONFESION? La confesión no es difícil pero require preparación. Debemos empezar con una oración, ubicándonos ante la presencia de Dios, nuestro Padre Amado. Buscamos sanación con el perdón, a través del arrepentimiento y la decisión de no volver a pecar. Entonces revisamos nuestras vidas desde nuestra última confesión, buscando nuestros pensamientos, palabras y acciones que no estuvieron conforme con mandamiento de Dios de amarlo a ÉL y a los demás por medio de la obediencia a las leyes de SU Iglesia. Cómo hacer un exámen de conciencia: Comience con una oración pidiendo la asistencia de Dios. Revise su vida con la ayuda de algunas preguntas basadas en los 10 Mandamientos. Dígale a Dios cuánto siente realmente haberlo ofendido. Haga una firme resolución de no volver a pecar. Esto no significa que el pecador no vaya a pecar nunca más en su vida, pero sí que está resuelto a evitar, en la medida de todas sus posibilidades, toda ocasión que pueda hacerle ofender a Dios. Pero es más que eso. No es solo, no ofender a Dios, sino tomar la decisión de amar a Dios cada vez más; de aprovechar cada ocasión para morir a nosotros mismos y a nuestros deseos, para demostrarle al Señor nuestro decidido amor.
