FEARS ABOUT IMMIGRATION During his 2015 visit to Washington and in his address to bishops, Pope Francis highlighted the value that immigrants bring to our society: Perhaps you will be challenged by their diversity, but know that they also possess resources to be shared. So do not be afraid to welcome them. Offer the warmth of Christ and you will unlock the mystery of their heart. I am certain that, as so often in the past, these people will enrich America and its church. While it is true that a small minority of immigrants become involved in criminal activity, the vest majority are honest and hardworking. As I look back on many of the accomplishments of Council 5750; such as our charitable partnerships with Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, the National Right to Life movement, and local Seminarians; to the K of C s Food for Families and Coats for Kids projects; and other local charities; I am so proud of Council 5750! I am especially pleased about the Annual 5K Race, the Our Lady of Angels Feast Day Celebration, and the Toys for Tots Christmas Pancake Breakfast. We couldn t have done these events without the kind support of the Parish of Our Lady of Angels. I would like to take this moment to thank you all. There will be a new slate of officers for this coming Fraternal Year. Please visit for more information. The Associates of St. John Bosco is conducting 3 workshops on how to grow in, and keep intact, your Catholic faith when you enter college this fall. The nights are designed for rising college freshmen to prepare for transition into college. CYM - YOUTH GROUP This past week a group of our high school youth and parent volunteers are participated in a week long service trip called Work Camp. They helped families in the Fredericksburg area along with volunteers from churches throughout the diocese. If Work Camp interests you, consider participating next year as a high school volunteer or an adult volunteer. There will not be a youth group meeting tonight. Join us next week. Questions? We need volunteers to help us with parking during the next semester, as well as after the 11:00am, 12:30pm, and the 2:00pm Sunday Masses.
