VIRTUS CLASSES AT OUR LADY OF ANGELS Our Lady of Angels will be hosting two VIRTUS classes on Saturday, October 6, VIRTUS training is ONE of the Diocesan requirements for volunteering. There will be an English session in the Parish Hall and a Spanish session in the St. Sophia Room, both located in the Aquinas school building. The sessions will begin PROMPTLY at a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. You can register on line at and click on Arlington Diocese, to find the available sessions. Please contact the Rectory Office at to speak with the Compliance Liaison, Mrs. Caroline Yuenger, if you have any questions or need assistance. OLA OKTOBERFEST! Mark your calendars! On Saturday, September 29th, the Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring an Oktoberfest Family Celebration at OLA from 6-10, in the hall. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst, German potato salad, desserts, soda, water, beer, wine and much more, at very reasonable prices. They will also have games for the kids. This will be a parish event for families. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS UPCOMING EVENTS The Knights of Columbus will have their pancake breakfast for parishioners next Sunday, September 9 after the 8:00am and 9:30am Masses. All parishioners are welcome! The Knights of Columbus Council 5750 will hold their annual 5K race at 9 a.m. on Oct. 6 at Leesylvania State Park. SEEKING HOPE & HEALING IN THE MIDST OF THE OPIOID CRISIS The Opioid Crisis has severely impacted the Diocese of Arlington, where opioid overdose deaths have increased threefold, and statewide, where opioid deaths jumped 200 percent. Join Bishop Michael Burbidge and Catholic Charities as we explore how we in the diocese can respond to this crisis. This is a free conference on Saturday, September 29, the Feast of the Archangels, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Hwy, Alexandria.
