3 CANERS Makes a Difference Research Grants and Scholarships Total Over $3 Million Since 1989 Donate Today to Support the CANERS Mission! Research The CANERS Foundation has funds available to support research projects pertinent to the production, post-harvest handling and marketing of nursery crops. BRITTANY LAMBERT SHEADE REGIONAL DIRECTOR-NORTH Yamagami s Nursery Position: General Manager Favorite Pastime: I love spending time with family and mountain biking, hiking, and skiing as often as I can. MIKE WRONKOWSKI, CCNP REGIONAL DIRECTOR-SOUTH Green Arrow Nursery Position: Nursery Manager Other Organizations: CCNP Committee Chair, Jack Wick Award recipient. Also involved with the Surfrider Foundation. Favorite Pastime: Surfing, fishing, and bicycling. STEVE BERGQUIST, CCNP REGIONAL DIRECTOR-SOUTH Green Thumb Nursery Position: Vice President Other Organizations: I have previously served on the board and held office in local CAN chapters in Orange County and Northern San Diego County. Favorite Pastime: My favorite pastime is hiking. OMEAD JAFROODI REGIONAL DIRECTOR-SOUTH American Horticultural Supply, Inc. Position: General Manager Other Organizations: Excited to be a part of the CANGC Board bringing the horticultural community in California closer together. Favorite Pastime: Outside of work and industry related events, I am spending all of my time with my wife of 6 years and 2 children, a boy 3 ½ years old and a girl 4 months old, my favorite pastime.

7 Meet our Dedicated Team of Professionals CHRIS ZANOBINI CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Chris serves in leadership positions for several agricultural organizations both at the state, national, and international levels. He has a history of building ag coalitions to achieve common goals and to provide for the long-term prosperity of the ag industry. On a personal level Chris is on the Host Committee for the St Vincent De Paul Society Annual Fundraiser, and involved with UC Davis Alumni relations. Chris is a graduate of the University of California at Davis with a degree in Plant Science and an emphasis in Agricultural Management. He holds a MBA emphasizing marketing and management from the U.C. Davis Graduate School of Management. He also completed post graduate work in education. ANITA GORE CONTROLLER Anita Gore is responsible for accounting and financial reporting functions. She assists in preparing annual association project budgets and prepares financial reports. Anita oversees reporting and financial activities of the associations political action committees and is responsible for compliance with pertinent political campaign laws. NIDA AGNO ASSISTANT CONTROLLER Nida is charged with maintaining the member databases for multiple associations, cash receipts, invoicing, and miscellaneous office duties including assisting all associations with projects as needed. She is responsible for dues billings and rendering membership reports. DONNA BOGGS ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR Donna performs management functions and is responsible for annual conventions, an annual feed production conference, a mid-year convention, association board meetings and miscellaneous seminars, legislative receptions and meetings. Donna manages several webpages, edits and publishes various association membership directories, and the weekly E-Newsletter for several groups. She is a member of Meeting Professionals International.

8 JANE TOWNSEND ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR Jane is the staff liaison for several clients and has full planning and implementation responsibilities for several conferences. She also works on special projects, assists with governmental relations activities, conducts research and renders industry wage and benefit surveys. Jane has experience in managing and marketing the Political Action Committees. ANN QUINN ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR Ann serves in several leadership positions in various industries including the rice, nursery, and floral industries. She is active in legislative and regulatory issues such as labor and transportation. Ann oversees the California Certified Nursery Professional program and is a committee member of the California Farm Bureau s Horticulture Advisory Committee. Ann also coordinates an annual Animal Nutrition Conference. BETSY PETERSON ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL SERVICES Betsy works closely with the Department of Pesticide Regulation on product registration and with various regulatory agencies on issues that impact production agriculture. Betsy managed the operations of the Wildland Collected Certification program & developed certification forms, standards and reports. Betsy has successfully organized & implemented a variety of meetings and workshops. Betsy holds a B.S. from the University of California Davis. DEBBIE MURDOCK ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR/REGISTERED LOBBYIST Debbie worked for United States Senator Paul Laxalt of Nevada in Washington as a Legislative Assistant. For five years Debbie worked on agricultural related issues and judiciary committee matters. Debbie monitors and tracks industry-specific issues and she plays a key role in influencing decision-making in California. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Political Science. NICK MATTEIS ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR Nick is the staff liaison for a number of clients including the Buy California Marketing Agreement. Nick also assists on regulatory and legislative communication and representation at key hearings and meetings. Nick is a graduate of the University of Nevada Reno with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. Nick is fluent in Spanish and is skilled at writing, reading and translation of documents.

9 SPENCER HALSEY ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR Spencer is primarily engaged in business development, strategy, member recruitment and communication as well as regulatory and legislative affairs. Spencer serves as the staff liaison and executive for several clients. Spencer is a graduate of the University of California Davis with a B.A. in Psychology. HOLLY KLEIN SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER Holly is responsible for overseeing and managing online social media outreach for a number of AAMSI clients. She conducts daily posting and monitoring on social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Google+ in addition to content development and graphic design. Holly holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California Riverside. ANNE ESTRADA ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Anne serves as our Administrative Assistant. In addition to phone reception and clerical responsibilities, she also provides support in the preparation of manuals and distribution of association materials, directories, and publications as well as assistance with mailings and meeting preparation. LORA VELARDO OFFICE SUPERVISOR In addition to shared phone reception and clerical responsibilities, Lora provides general administrative support in preparing and distributing association outreach materials, on-site meeting assistance and is also responsible for the daily publication of a commodity Market Review. BARBARA WINDMILLER SPECIAL PROJECTS Barbara served as the Field Director for the California Kiwifruit industry for many years. Since her retirement she has worked with AAMSI on a number of projects including oversight and guidance in the Kiwifruit Administrative Committee s operations and Section 8E compliance, Data collection and analysis for the California Cherry and Pear programs. TAD BELL REGULATORY ISSUES Tad spent eighteen years at the California Department of Food and Agriculture, holding several positions including Senior Biologist, Director of Policy Development and Undersecretary of Agriculture. Since leaving the Department Tad has focused on regulatory issues, and is currently a principal in Velo Consulting in Sacramento. Tad provided key support to the California grain and feed industry during the Karnal Bunt crisis and is extremely familiar with state and federal regulatory affairs.
