Estudiantes, padres de familia, miembros de la comunidad y personal de Educación Especial en la Oficina del Condado de Santa Clara están invitados a participar en el Consejo del Plantel Escolar (SSC). Los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de aprender sobre los planes de la escuela para satisfacer las necesidades de los estudiantes. También tendrán la oportunidad de compartir sus observaciones e ideas sobre cómo la escuela puede mejorar. 7 English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) Meeting Minutes School: Special Education Meeting Location: Chandler Tripp Date: October 23, 2014 Minutes must address each agenda item. Summarize discussions and note approval. Agenda Topic Minutes 1. Review EL student achievement data (CAHSEE, AYP, API, etc.) 2. Review District AMAOs for EL students Added Notes: At 6:35 p.m., the group was welcomed by Winston. Lidia reviewed the data on EL and District AMAO s for EL students. - Special Education student data from grade levels K to 12 was shared via a PowerPoint. - CELDT data was reviewed. Language Arts and Math student data was shared. - Academic Performance Index (API) data was reviewed from 2009 to The goal is to have all students proficient in Math and ELA in the Santa Clara County by Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) data between 2010 to 2013 in Math and Language Arts was reviewed and explained by Lidia Vázquez. - The SCCOE Special Education Program is in PI Year 4 because we have not met the Accountability target for two years. (Please add additional pages as needed) Special Education ELAC Meeting 1 of 2
8 - Lidia explained that Title I: A) - Provides financial assistance to students and low income families - Helps improve student achievement - Helps in staff development - Supports education B) - Directly support student achievement - Supports Professional Staff Development - Supplement funds to school activities to increase participation of students and parents Special Education Title I Budget for 2014 includes: Parent Involvement Salary & Benefits Books Reference Software Materials & Supplies Equipment Field Trips Because we are in Program Improvement, we need to set 20% aside for supplemental education services. If those funds are not used, they will be released in March/April to use for Title I supplemental expenditures.
