4 Expresiones típicas empleadas en conversaciones telefónicas 1. Llamas a un amigo y quieres identificarte. a. Hi, this is speaking. b. Hi, I'm c. Hi, it's speaking. 2. Para pedir que te pasen con otra línea, departamento, extensión u otra persona, dirás: a. Can you put me with? b. Can you put me through to? 3. Y para decirte que esperes un momento, la expresión más habitual es: a. Wait a moment, please. b. Hold the line, please. 4 Podrías relacionar el siguiente vocabulario, todo referido al tema del teléfono, con su correspondiente definición? 5 GRAMATICA Some y Any Some Este adjetivo se utiliza para indicar que hay una cantidad indeterminada de alguna cosa. Se usa delante de sustantivos contables en plural: There are some children in the park. Se usa delante de sustantivos incontables en singular: There's some hot coffee. Have a cup! *En ambos casos, siempre en las formas afirmativas. Any Este adjetivo acompaña a los sustantivos contables en plural e incontables en singular en frases negativas. En la negación indica que no hay nada de alguna cosa para los incontables:there isn't any milk for my tea, o ningún / a en el caso de los contables:there aren't any cinemas where I live. Any también se utiliza generalmente para las interrogaciones para saber si hay 'algo de': Have you got any money? o alguno/a: Are there any letters for me this morning? Nota: En las preguntas donde se ofrece o se pide algo, usaremos Some en lugar de Any. Would you like some? Exercises 1. There isn t coffee at this time. 2. I would like dinner. 3. I d like a salad or some soup. RS: Good. You can have the Chef s salad or the roastbeef salad. And you can have consommé or tomato soup. L: I think I ll have the roast-beef salad and then a ham omelette, if that is possible. RS: Certainly, madam. Would you like something to drink? L: Yes, can you bring me some red wine, please? RS: Which room are you in? L: I m in room 236. RS: So, that s a roast-beef salad, a ham omelette and some red wine for room 236. I ll send your dinner up immediately, madam.
