1 ESTUDIO DEL BALANCE TÉRMICO Y ANÁLISIS DE RENTABILIDAD PARA UN AEROCONDENSADOR Autor: Lucas López-Lax Rivera Director: Darío Fuentes Entidad colaboradora: Empresarios Agrupados, EEAA RESUMEN DEL PROYECTO. El objetivo de este proyecto es la evaluación de diferentes ofertas de aerocondensadores para una central térmica. La evaluación consiste en un análisis de la rentabilidad de las diferentes ofertas teniendo en cuenta la capacidad de refrigeración y los consumos de cada equipo. Un equipo con un buen rendimiento consigue refrigerar más el vapor de salida de la turbina y esto implica menor presión de salida, con su consecuente incremento en el salto entálpico de la turbina, lo que supone mayor potencia generada en esta. La cantidad de calor disipada en los aerocondensadores depende de la temperatura del aire exterior ya que éste es el fluido refrigerante, será necesario por tanto conocer las condiciones de funcionamiento de estos equipos bajo las diferentes condiciones de temperatura. Este análisis se efectuará realizando un modelo para el proceso de transferencia de calor y su posterior aplicación informática para evaluar el funcionamiento de los diferentes aerocondensadores en función de la temperatura ambiente bajo la que operan. Esta aplicación se utilizará para la evaluación de un caso real de implantación de un aerocondensador en una central térmica en la que tres ofertantes para el equipo de condensado y habrá que determinar el que proporcione un mayor beneficio económico para dicha central. Para saber la tasa de transferencia de calor que se produce entre el vapor que circula por el interior de los tubos aleteados y el aire refrigerante que fluye a

2 través de estos, es necesario elaborar un modelo de resistencias térmicas en función de las diferentes superficies de contacto que se encuentran en el proceso. Las resistencias térmicas se calculan a partir de los diferentes coeficientes de película y las propias resistencias térmicas de los materiales. Los coeficientes empleados para el cálculo son los siguientes: - Coeficiente de película exterior: - Coeficiente de película interior: - Resistencia térmica de los tubos: Expresa la resistencia a la transferencia de calor en el tubo. También se tendrá en cuenta términos de eficiencia en superficies aleteadas. El coeficiente global de transferencia se obtiene sumando las diferentes resistencias térmicas. Una vez tenemos el coeficiente global de transferencia se calculará mediante un proceso iterativo los parámetros de funcionamiento de la instalación. Proceso: El proceso iterativo consiste en proponer un valor para la temperatura de salida de la turbina y comprobar si para dicha temperatura coincide el calor transferido en el condensador calculado e partir del coeficiente de transferencia (Q = U*A*LMTD) con el teórico que debe disipar. El calor teórico se de la siguiente manera: El calor total del ciclo es el correspondiente al vapor a la salida de la caldera. Esta cantidad se mantiene constante para cada régimen de carga. Parte de esta cantidad será entregada a la turbina y el calor sobrante es disipado en el condensador (esto es una aproximación, válida para nuestro caso de estudio). Por tanto conociendo la potencia en la turbina (esta se determina a partir de la contrapresión con las curvas de funcionamiento de la turbina) conocemos el calor teórico a disipar en el condensador. Se irán dando valores a la temperatura (presión) de escape de la turbina hasta que coincidan los dos calores disipados por el condensador.

3 El proceso iterativo se efectuará con una aplicación informática programada en Visual Basic que determina para cada temperatura del aire exterior la presión de escape de la turbina. Sabiendo la potencia generada para cada temperatura exterior y la frecuencia con que se da cada temperatura a lo largo del año, sabremos la potencia total suministrada. Se aplicamos la remuneración económica a la potencia total generada obtendremos el beneficio bruto de la central. Comparando este dato para las tres ofertas se obtiene la diferencia beneficio entre los diferentes equipos. La elección del equipo más económico dependerá de si la diferencia de precio de compra entre unos y otros compensa el mayor beneficio obtenido por el mejor rendimiento del equipo. El resultado obtenido para este caso de estudio ha sido el siguiente: EQUIPO 1 EQUIPO 2 EQUIPO 3 EQUIPO $ $ EQUIPO $ $ EQUIPO $ $ - Esta tabla muestra la diferencia máxima en el precio de compra para que sea rentable la compra del equipo más caro, o con mejor rendimiento.

4 HEAT BALANCE AND PROFITABILITY ANALASYS FOR AN AEROCONDENSAER The target of this Project is the evaluation of three different offers of aerocondenser for a thermal power station. The evaluation consist on a profitability analysis having into consideration the refrigeration capability and energy consumption of each item. One condenser with good performance manages to refrigerate more vacuum at the output of the turbine and this implies less pressure with it s consecuent enthalpy drop and a better performance for the turbine. The amount of heat dissipated by the condenser depends on the temperature of the air because this is the refrigeration fluid. It will be necessary then to know the performing conditions of this items for each temperature. This analysis will be done creating a mathematic model for the heat transfer process and it s consecuent computer application to evaluate the performance at each operation temperature. This application will be used to evaluate a real case. This case will have three different options for buying the condensers wichi will be installed in a thermal power plant. It s necessary to create a thermal resistance model to evaluate the heat transfer coefficients between the different contact surfaces of the process. The thermal resistances are calculated from the different coefficients. These are the following: - Outside film coefficient: - Inside film coefficient: - Tubes termal ressistance: It will also be taken into consideration therms of thermal efficiency for the finned tubes. The global heat transfer coefficient is obtained by summing all the thermal resistances.

5 Once we have the global heat transfer coefficient, the working parameters of the aerocondenser will be obtained froma an iterative process : Process: This iterative process consist in proposing a value for the vacuum temperature inside the condenser and checking if the heat transfer rate in the condenser matches the theoretical transfer rate. The heat transferred in the condenser is calculated by means of the heat transfer coefficient as follows: Q = U*A*LMTD Theoretical heat transferred in the condenser: The overall heat from the process is the one that has the vacuum at the output of the heating tank. This will be maintained constant for each load. Part from this heat is given to the turbine and the rest of the heat is rejected in the condenser (this is an approximation useful only for our case of study) Then if you know the power of the turbine (this depends on the turbine backpressure wich is determined by the temperature of the vacuum) you can obtain the theoretical heat transferred in the condenser. Values for the vacuum temperature in the condenser will be iterated until this two heat transfers match. The iterative process will be done with a computer application programmed in Visual Basic. This will obtain the turbine backpressure for each ambient temperature. If you know the power generated for each temperature and the frequency of that temperature over the years you can obtain the total power outpu for the year by multiplying each temperature with it s frequency with the power generated et that temperature and with the total number of hours per year. If you add the economic income for each MW generated you obtain the total profit. Comparing this data for each offer of the condensers you can get the differential income between each equipment of condenser.

6 The election of the most economic equipment will depend on if the rise on the efficiency of the condenser during the lifecycle of the plant compensates the purchase value. The following table shows the maximum difference of the purchase value for wich it is worth to buy the more efficient condenser.
