Introducción El presente proyecto tiene como objetivo realizar el diseño de una turbina para usar la energía almacenada en un deposito de aire comprimido. En este proyecto nos centraremos en obtener energía eléctrica a partir de unos depósitos de aire comprimido instalados en un vehículo cuyo funcionamiento se basa en el aire comprimido. Sin embargo, el motor de aire comprimido no podrá aprovechar el aire con presiones por debajo de los 200 bar. Por lo tanto, habrá cinco depósitos los cuales tendrán una presión de aire de 200 bar. El objetivo de este proyecto será el diseñar un sistema que aprovecha esa energía eléctrica que se podrá obtener de los depósitos y estimar si será lo suficiente para abastecer al vehículo. Una turbina normalmente trabaja en un régimen estacionario a presión constante y a un determinado número de revoluciones por minuto. En nuestro caso, nos encontramos con una turbina que ve como la presión en el depósito va disminuyendo conforme se va vaciando por lo que no puede estar trabajando en su punto de máximo rendimiento durante todo el vaciado Metodología A lo largo de este estudio se desarrollaron las diferentes partes del sistema necesario para obtener energía eléctrica a partir del aire comprimido. En la Figura 1 se pueden ver las diferentes fases por las que pasará el aire desde que está en los depósitos hasta que obtenemos energía eléctrica. En primer lugar se calculará la energía que hay almacenada en los depósitos y se hizo un análisis de sensibilidad del flujo másico, ṁ, asociado al tiempo de descarga del depósito. Si el flujo era muy pequeño se obtenían rendimientos muy pequeños. Las toberas se usarán para convertir la presión del fluido en energía cinética que posteriormente moverá la turbina. Posteriormente y para evitar la gran variabilidad de ṁ en una descarga a través de una sola tobera se diseñaron cuatro toberas para los diferentes rangos de presión en el depósito, así consiguiéndose así un ṁ más constante. 4 Figura 1. Esquema del sistema Por lo tanto se ha elegido una turbina de acción adecuada para altas presiones y bajos flujos másicos. Se han prediseñado tres versiones de turbina, una a 200 bar, otra a 150 bar y otra a 100 bar. Se ha obtenido su geometría para el punto de máximo rendimiento y se analizó a qué velocidad de giro estaba ese punto. Para ver que turbina es la más adecuada, se ha simulado la descarga del depósito a través de las sucesivas toberas estimando la energía producida por cada una de ellas. Esta energía se evalúa como el salto periférico,y u, menos la suma de las pérdidas de rozamiento por disco y ventilación y las pérdidas de choque. Las pérdidas de choque tienen bastante importancia en nuestro caso ya que la turbina no funcionará en su punto de diseño. Finalmente podremos estimar si la energía que obtenemos de la turbina es suficiente para las necesidades eléctricas del vehículo Resultados y conclusiones A lo largo del proyecto calculamos las necesidades eléctricas del vehículo como se muestran en la tabla 1 a partir de los consumos que creemos necesarios. Por la noche los consumos aumentan debido al uso de las luces de cruce y carretera. Tabla 1. Necesidad eléctricas del vehículo Consumo [Wh] Consumo [kj] Día 381,7 1371,6 Noche 618,8 2224,8 Al finalizar el proyecto, habiendo elegido la turbina más eficiente conforme al vaciado que se kj ha calculado de los depósitos se obtiene una energía de 663,49. Al tener cinco depósitos deposito en el vehículo esto significaría que obtendríamos una energía total de 3317,45 kj. Si dividimos la energía obtenida de los depósitos entre la necesidad eléctrica del vehículo nos dará la autonomía eléctrica de la que podríamos abastecer al vehículo. Los resultados se presentan en la siguiente tabla. Según los resultados obtenidos podríamos afirmar que debido a que un vehículo de aire comprimido, como es el que está bajo estudio, tiene una autonomía reducida es posible que el vehículo se bastase para auto abastecerse aunque sería recomendable poner otro alternador IV

Se debe tener en cuenta que ésto es un primer estudio para ver si sería posible alimentar un vehículo con la presión remanente en los depósitos. Los resultados nos dan datos bastante esperanzadores, sin embargo, se deja como objeto de posibles estudios el cálculo de la potencia con la turbina variando su velocidad de rotación ya que en este estudio se dejó constante. Introduction The present project has as aim to realize the design of a turbine in order to use the energy stored in a compressed air reservoir. In this project we will centre on obtaining electric power from a few reservoirs of compressed air installed in a vehicle which functioning is based on the compressed air. Nevertheless, the engine of compressed air will not be able to take advantage of the air with pressures below 200 bar. Therefore, there will be five tanks which will have an air pressure of 200 bar. The objective of this project is to design a system that uses up the electrical energy that will be obtained from the tanks and to estimate whether it will be enough to satisfy the vehicle s necessities. A turbine usually works in an stationary regime with constant pressure and with a determined rotating speed. In our case, we will find ourselves with a decreasing pressure within the tank as the air keeps coming out. That is why our turbine will not be working on its peak of eficiency Methodology Along this study are developed the different parts of the necessary system to obtain electric power from the compressed air. In Figure 1 we can see the different phases in which the air will pass as it is in the tanks until we obtain electric power. First will be calculated the energy that it is stored in the tanks and an analysis of sensibility was done of mass flow,ṁ, associated with the time of unload of the tanks. If the flow was very slight low performances was obtained. The nozzles will be used to turn the pressure of the fluid in kinetic energy that later on will move the turbine. Afterwards to avoid the great variability of ṁ in an unload across a single nozzle, were designed four nozzles for the different ranges of pressure in the stores this way obtaining a more constant ṁ. Therefore it has been chosen an action turbine adapted for high pressures and low mass flow. VII

Its geometry has been obtained for the point of maximum performance and it was analyzed to what speed of turn this point was. To see what turbine is the most suitable, the unload of the store has been simulated across the successive nozzles estimating the energy produced by each of them. This energy evaluates as the peripheral jump,y u, minus the sum of the losses of rubbing for disc and ventilation and the losses of collision. The losses of collision have enough importance in our case since the turbine will not work in its point of design. Finally we will be able to estimate if the energy that we obtain from the turbine is sufficient for the electrical needs of the vehicle Results and conclusions Along the project we calculate the electrical needs of the vehicle like it is shown in table 1 from the consumptions we believe necessary. At night the consumptions increase due to the use of the high and low beam bulbs. Table 1. We obtained an energy of 663,49 deposito with the 100 bar turbine. As we have five tanks in the vehicle this would mean that we get a total amount of energy of 3317,45 kj. If we divide the energy obtained of the stores between the electrical needs of the vehicle it will give us the electrical autonomy which we might supply to the vehicle. The results appear in the following table. According to the obtained results we may confirm that due to the fact that a vehicle of compressed air, since it is the one being studied, has a reduced autonomy, it is possible that the vehicle would be able to be self sufficient though it would be advisable to put another alternator connected to the engine in case the vehicle ran out of electric power. The results give us enough encouraging information, nevertheless, the calculation of the power is left as object of possible studies by the turbine changing its speed of rotation since in this study it was made constant.
