Regular collection : $2, Gracias por su generosidad Thank you for your generosity March 15 th, 2015 Evil and good. Dark and light. These are at the heart of Sunday s readings. The people have stocked up infidelity upon infidelity. God has reached out with mercy over and over again, but the people don t change. If anything, they get even worse. Punishment follows, but also more mercy. We are all guilty of infidelities, and there are times when we simply don t want to heed correction and open ourselves up to God s mercy. We prefer to keep our dirty little secrets in the dark, even when we know how wonderful the light can be (especially after a long, gloomy winter). Let s embrace these readings as an incentive to abandon the darkness of our sins be they individual like lying and cheating or communal like war and environmental abuse. Let s shine a light on the good that is in each of us instead. And let s thank God for the infinite mercy bestowed on us if we would only welcome it. If you would like to donate a memorial plant, please come to the priory office as soon as possible and give the name of the persons to be remembered. Each plant is $ Easter Youth Retreat St. Simon Stock Church is inviting all our youth to participate in a spiritual retreat. The retreat is being prepared specially for the teens in our community. Registration continues until Friday, March 27th. Registration Fee is $30.00 The fee will cover material and food that our teens will receive during the retreat. SPECIAL COLLECTION CATHOLIC RELIEF SERVICE March 15th Today, our parish will take up a collection for The Catholic Relief Services. This collection supports six Catholic agencies that touch more than 100 million live around the world. The funds from this collection help provide food to the hungry, welcome an support to displaced refugees, and advocacy for the voiceless. How will you help? Next week, please give generously to The Catholic Relief Services collection as Jesus in disguise. Los fondos de esta colecta ayudan a proveer alimentos a las personas que pasan hambre, acogen y apoyan a los refugiados desplazados y abogan por los que no tienen voz. Cómo les puedes ayudar?
