Our early childhood and elementary students learned about the pope as the head of the church and about Vatican City. The young students prayed for Pope Francis and Catholics around the world every day. Our upper elementary and middle school students were given the opportunity to watch Pope Francis arrival to Washington D.C. and listen to him address Congress. They also watched him formally address the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. It was a blessed and memorable event for our entire school family to witness! Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School is a Christ centered educational community that is committed to the fullness of the Gospel message. 5 Notes & Thoughts Vocation Cup We thank the following families for hosting the Vocation Cup this past week: The Lagroue Family The Lorenzo Family The Vocation Blessing Cup is a wonderful instrument of prayer and devotion for our parish families. The Cup reminds each host family that it is their responsibility to pray for and foster vocations to the priesthood and religious life. A family is asked to host the Vocation Cup for one week. It will travel from home to home as a sign of our total parish commitment to praying for vocations. Respect Life October is Pro Life month. Each year Our Lady of the Lakes Parish starts this month off with the Baby Bottle Campaign. We will be distributing Baby Bottles on Saturday and Sunday 10/3/15 and 10/4/15 after all of the Masses. We will pick up the Baby Bottles on Saturday and Sunday 10/10/15 and 10/11/15 after all of the Masses. We would appreciate your taking a Baby Bottle home with you and fill it up with change, cash or checks and bring it back to us the next weekend. We will have someone at all of the exits. Your generosity allows us to help those parents in need of the necessities for their baby. If you are not both a registered and active member of our parish, Baptisms, Marriages, Sponsor certificates and other documents needed from the Church will take longer to obtain and, in some cases, not possible. You must be attending Mass regularly and be an active member of the parish.
